You have an option if you don’t like the wear
We put this sink into a guest bathroom a year ago and absolutely loved it ...at first. However, even using the cleaning/protection kit expect that the aged copper finish will come off. If it came off evenly (creating a patina) that would not have been a big deal however, it comes off unevenly and in streaks where it is exposed to acidic products such as soap and toothpaste... so you would have shiny steaks and random spots shine through the aged copper finish. The result was not “aged patina” but had a dirty unclean look...(in our opinion). After a year my wife was ready to replace it when after a couple of PBRs one night I came up with a brilliant idea. If the original finish strips that easily (even with the protective solution) and it is copper why not just take off the aged bronze color. While I am sure there is a better way (maybe manufacturer can weigh in) but I literally covered entire sink in toothpaste and waited an hour. I then took 0000 steel wool and turned on water and wiped sink down, effectively taking off the finish mostly. Be aware that this approach did leave some scratches if you look real close but the over all effect is so much better than the look we had before. It’s been a week now and the sink is holding up great. Any changes in coloring will at least now be more even. We are back to loving the sink. Yes it is no longer bronze but depending on how much of the finish you remove you can retain some of the aged look. The difference when toothpaste or soap removes a spot is no where near as noticeable than against the original bronze finish. The picture is of the sink after removing finish a week later. UPDATE: second photo 8 months later. Very little maintenance is now required. We do use a spray wax after cleaning.

Beautiful!
This sink is the perfect centerpiece for our bathroom. Absolutely love it! I expect that it will patina over time and I welcome it. That’s one of the beautiful things about copper.

Great but get ready to do some work.
This sink is great BUT, you have to be willing to use some elbow grease to clean it after you install it because the finish will come off. I used plumber’s putty to seal the drain (normal usage) and it took the finish off! I couldn’t believe it! So, in order to make it look all the same, I had to put a layer of plumbers putty all over it, peel it off to take the dull finish off, then buff it with a microfiber towel. This does not take it all the way down to the copper, so don’t panic. It actually looks great once you do this, still with the dark patina. Next I bought Mother’s canuba wax and waxed the surface (sinkology recommends this) and now it looks just great. So if you are willing to put in a little extra time, it’s worth it in the end! We love it! Also another tip: use the expanding foam that comes in a small can (can get at Lowe’s or Home Depot) and run a bead under the sink between the sink and countertop. This will “glue it down” and hold it in place. Otherwise there’s no way to hold it in place. Sinkology also recommends doing this. It works. Just do these few things and you will love your new sink like we do! Great value!

Nice looking sink
Very nicely constructed and the antiques looking hammered copper looks great. Came with template to cut the hole in countertop. I applied a generous amount of silicone adhesive around the lip, cleaned up the excess, put a towel in the sink then placed 20 pounds of weight inside. Left it for 24 hours.

Sink has already started to discolor.
Sink went in our guest bathroom that is hardly ever used. It has already started to discolor. I love the “look” of the sink but not so happy with it now.
