My tropical hardwood laminate flooring was dull and lifeless prior to applying the entire regime

I'm unsure how critical the use of the product may be prior to applying 4 thin coats of ZPEZU0812128 - Zep High Traffic Floor Finish, however I followed the directions and put a light coat on first. It goes quite a long way. I'm still working from the first gallon on a project that involves about 2,000 sq. ft. I'll likely have about 25% of the bottle left when I've finished the project. It dries quickly, so it's possible to start applying the floor finish almost immediately after completing the application of this sealer. Paired with the aforementioned product provides a durable and extremely attractive, polished result. My tropical hardwood laminate flooring was dull and lifeless prior to applying the entire regime. As soon as the last coat dried, there was light dancing everywhere off the finished result. Highly attractive! An aside: Using the regime of one coat Sealer and four coats High Traffic Floor Finish works well, however it will prominently display any flotsam and jetsam left behind on the floor that gets embedded in the final finish. I highly recommend that you thoroughly wet mop the floor and, after dry, carefully vacuum any remaining material, such as grains of sand and (especially) hair. You'd be surprised at the amount of hair you'll find on your floors and any left behind will be quite conspicuous in the final finish result. I think it's nearly unavoidable, but you'll want to minimize it as much as possible. I like this system and I'm likely to renew the finish again in about 6 months or so. I doubt that I'll strip the floors to do that, rather will thoroughly remove all hair and debris (as above) and apply one or more coats directly on what is there. I've read reviews that suggest this method results in a very nice look when reapplied several times. I'll let you know if I have anything to add later.

3 months later, my floor does not shine.

I am going to need to strip this sealer and find a better one. I hope stripping does not damage my new vinyl floor. Put in new vinyl flooring in my bathroom over New Years and bought this product as a sealer based on good reviews and the videos showing the glass-like sheen. User error on my part: I did not read that this is 1 part of a very expensive 5 part "system". I never got the glass-like sheen and 3 months later I cannot even tell that my new floor is sealed. I am also an amateur DIY guy and there were a few rough cuts around the type of weird corners you find in a bathroom that I had to patch with silicone epoxy that was made specifically for the flooring I bought and it looked great. The sealer dulled/discolored the epoxy and did not seal the epoxy, so now that high traffic rough cut directly in front of my toilet is already peeling up.

GREAT PRODUCT

We just recently moved into our new house. Our dog was diagnosed with a brain tumor and now has a hard time remembering things. The main thing is where he is supposed to go pee. We were really afraid that he was going to ruin the flooring. I put it down to seal it...and it is AMAZING. The floor is STILL shining!...even after having to soak up SERVAL puddles a day.

PERFECT for what I needed!

Protection after cleaning

The removal of the old, dirty, dull, wax build up was through Zep's floor stripper. Then, I followed up using this Zep Sealant. To get the most out of your floor, it has to be clean first. The Zep Sealant is very watery, but don't let that fool you. It dries to a clear, hard finish in under 30 minutes. I did the recommended two coats. I'm sure you can apply even more. If you don't have a recommended mop, you can use an old, thick sock over your gloved hand.

Worked on new floor

Had new floor put down. The tiles that have to be glued down. I sealed them with this product and then used the floor wax of the same brand. Even before using the wax, the sealer made the floor shiny, but, I recommend using the wax and following directions, to get a really brilliant shine. But, please be aware, you really need to make sure you have thoroughly cleaned the floor before application. I thought just vacuuming would be enough, but I should have used my swiffer sweeper or a dust mop. It's not evident unless you really look close, but, when I have, I can see hair trapped under the sealer and wax.

An answer to a lot of problems

This product is saving me a lot of work. It protects, and dirt does not seem to stick to it, so it has cut down on my wet cleaning enormously. It leaves a gentle sheen. Self leveling, and very quick drying, with virtually no odor. I used it on a very old vinyl kitchen floor, and it continues to look great months later. I have also used it on the sealing grout between our tub and old ceramic floor in our bathroom that was constantly dirty looking. That too has lasted. We have a porcelain tile floor in our sun room, fabulous sheen now. Tried it on window sills. Wonderful. But then I did the big leap. My wooden floors had begun to lose their finish in places, but I was not prepared to refinish the entire floor at this time due to cost and a house full of three cats. They are gorgeous now, with one coat, and I think I will be able to maintain them this way indefinitely. So happy to have found this product, and I am contuing to experiment with surfaces.
