Well worth the price. Some true gems.

First off, beware of all the positive reviews. They send a voucher for a free gift along with the brushes that you can redeem if you write a 5 star review. I haven't redeemed the gift simply because I'm lazy, so this review is genuine. I've also waited about a month before writing a review so that I could get familiar with the brushes. I've rated each of the main brushes on a scale of 5. The initial impression of this brush set was excellent. There are a wide variety of brushes, both with synthetic and natural bristles. A couple complaints: the fan brush is HUGE, and the bristles a bit too soft to be used for flicking off eyeshadow fallout or picking up highlighter (which are the two most common uses of a fan brush). It's still quite pretty, and I'm weak for pretty things, though. So it gets 2/5. The foundation buffing brush is completely useless. I don't have the brushes on hand, so I can't remember the brush number, but it's the same brush that a lot of other reviewers are complaining about. The fallout is insane. Just toss it out. 0/5 The other brushes are great. There are some real gems that individually I would be willing to pay $10-25 for. The two powder brushes are very dense and soft. I find them to be very very similar to Sephora's multi-purpose brush and powder brush. I'd give both brushes 5/5 The foundation brushes are also quite nice, although not quite as brilliant. I use the tapered foundation brush for contouring, and it picks up product super well. I use the main foundation brush for liquid foundation, and it gets the job done without streaks, although it's not quite as soft as top tier brush. 4/5 The red angled brush is great for highlighter, and I'm a little in love with this brush. It has gotten a little less soft with use though, so I'll give it a 4/5. But still a lovely brush. Some brushes are quite nice but I don't use them much because they just don't suit the products I use. For example, I don't use the mineral blush brush, simply because I prefer to use the small powder brush for my blush. However, the bristles on it are natural and very dense. 5/5 I'm lumping the eyeshadow brushes into one section. Overall, they're nice. Most of them pick up pigment quite well, and I like the long-bristled fluffy brush for softening and blending. Other people would probably really like it for nose contouring. My only complaint is that there are no tiny detail brushes. I have to use a different kit for that. For this reason, I rate them 4/5, simply because I'd like a little more variety. The brushes are of a good quality though. So. In summation, there are some flawed brushes, and I'd like a little more variety in the sizes of eyeshadow brushes. HOWEVER. I DEFINITELY RECCOMMEND THIS BRUSH SET. There are plenty of excellent brushes to make this set well worth the price. As I said earlier, I would (and have) spend the same amount of money on just the two powder brushes alone. They're just that nice. I'm very pleased with the set overall. The value alone makes me rate the entire set 5/5, because I've never found brushes this cheap that were this well-made. I was super skeptical about buying these, because sometimes raving reviews come from people who just haven't had a lot of experience with makeup, but even pros will be able to find a few brushes in this set that'll make it worth it for them.

Just Okay for those Looking to Start a Brush Collection

I bought it here on Amazon about a year ago and decided it's a right time to write a review on this brush set. It's an okay set for those looking to build their brush collection, however, I wished that there were more selection of eye brushes included. I found that I still had to purchase individual brushes after purchasing this set to do my eye make-up as there were only a few and it didn't really give me the full eye look that I wanted and barely reach for them to be quite honest. I really only use 2 face brushes in this set and the rest is sitting unused unfortunately. :-( This set does smell strong at first but after washing and airing it out a few times, it's not as bad as it used to be. I experienced that with some of the brushes, the ferule has loosened up from the handle after washing it a few times and I am super careful when I clean my brushes. Overall, it's an okay set for beginners but I wouldn't highly recommend it. I had high hopes due to reading all the positive reviews, but I guess my experience was a miss. :-(

Amazing package

Even though these were for my wife and I know next to nothing about makeup, I absolutely loved the packaging of the item. Great presentation! Wife seems happy, even though she says she still needs more brushes (influenced by YouTube streamers and my cousin which has over 70+ brushes). Overall, definitely recommend!

Excellent quality!

These brushes surprised me! I thought they would be decent, but they're way better than I expected. For the low cost of this set, I absolutely love them! NOT VEGAN, so if that's important to you, don't get these. Would definitely get this set as gifts this Christmas!

Buenas brochas

Muy completo y práctico. La mayoría de las brochas son muy suaves, solo hay 1 o dos un poco más duritas pero no importa. Las brochas en general me gustaron muchísimo. Lo que sí es que las compré antes de tener Amazon prime y se tardaron muchísimo en llegar. La verdad conviene la membresia prime. Si recomiendo las brochas.

Hits and misses

This is my first time using the shany brush set. I used a variety of them for my full-face look today. Some brushes are a win and some were a miss. The foundation and powder brushes seem to have a problem with fallout and sort of scratchy to the touch. The mineral brushes are very soft and high hair count. Eyeshadow brushes were okay. Favourites were the F19, 22, M22, 21 and 33. I could live without the rest.
