LIFE CHANGING!! (Oh wait, they're just brushes... In that case, they're completely normal & nothing traumatic happened!)
Not sure what the fuss is about... The brushes are actually really nice quality. The size makes them perfect for travel or everyday use. Don't be freaked out by the word "synthetic" -- we all know what those cheap-quality "bristles" feel like (the ones that practically leave claw marks across your blushes and eyeshadows then feel about as smooth as a mustache as you rake them across your skin). These are NOT those. Instead, these are soft (but not too soft) and smooth "hairs" -- not bristles. I'll update my review if I learn otherwise but these brushes give every indication that for a mere mortal/normal makeup user they'll last a long, long time (i.e. there's no need to worry about mileage as if you're a professional makeup artist...). Here's the low down: A) the brushes don't smell, B) I would have NEVER had cause to sniff the case if I hadn't read the other reviews claiming its scent was horrifying but...if I had to describe it, it smells exactly like anything else you would order online that's new (think new shoes, for example). C) As for "airing out" the case to get rid of the smell, I'd actually recommend putting the case inside a ziplock bag filled with 2 cups of dry, uncooked rice for 4-6 hours before...I'M KIDDING. By the time I finished taking pictures for you guys, the case smelled exactly like a pair of new shoes that had sat out of the box for EXACTLY as long as the case had sat out of its box while I photographed it. D) Regarding the quality/durability of the case: do I think it'll be around for me to clutch lovingly as I lie on my deathbed? NO. But if that's your expectation, you've probably sniffed a few too many newly-unwrapped products...

Amazing brushes
These makeup brushes are amazing. Flawless coverage no streaks or shedding. Soft easy for travel and a value for the money. I have bought a lot of different brands in the past and spent a fortune. These brushes are much better and half the price. I recommend 100%!

Not the best travel set!
I really wanted to love this set. The box that the brushes come in is attractive, compact and protects the brushes quite well. Someone said that the box crushes the tops of her brushes, but I think she didn't make sure the handles were in properly, this does not happen in mine at all. Brush by brush analysis: Blush: This is a lovely brush! It's soft and dense and works well for blushes and powders. With powders, you need to tap it off since it is a dense brush. In a pinch, I've even used this to buff in liquid foundation and it was great for that. Stipple: It's a good stippling brush. Also soft and dense. I like using this with cream blushes. The "foundation" brush: What? Why would you ever use such a tiny, pointy brush for foundations? I tried. It doesn't work. The only real use I've found for this is it's small enough to be a pretty good contouring brush, but it doesn't blend very well (it's so pointy that circular motions aren't very smooth). It's also too dense and thus stiff to work for under eye concealer. I don't often reach for this brush. The large and small shadow brushes and contour crease brush: Are so so stiff that it's uncomfortable to use. Add to the fact that the brush fibers are so smooth that they don't really pick up powder eyeshadow well. These are pretty much useless. Eyeliner brush: This is great! It works well for eyeliner, packing on shadow over eyeliner for a softer/smokier look and also for brows. The three eyeshadow brushes have been removed from my kit and replaced with ecotools travel brushes (which fit nicely in the box). There is also room in the box for a small foldable brow brush/lash comb. Overall, I would say to look for a different set, though I do continue to use mine (just not the eyeshadow brushes).

Wonderful Brushes for Traveling
Can I say I love these brushes for travel? Well I do. I think the case they come in is too large and heavy for traveling, so I just transfered into my makeup bag and use the case for storing when I get home. They're super soft and the assortment is perfect!

Small applicators too small
I travel a lot for my job and really wanted a good set of travel brushes, but the small brushes used for eyeshadow are for very full so it take longer to get the results I want. Disappointed…but some may like the brush size over the fullness of the bristles. I may just get another set of my inexpensive favorites and cut the handles down.

A must order!!
I was at first hesitant to order these brushes as there were no amazon reviews to judge from. However as I looked into it further I saw they are a new company to the UK. I clicked on amazon.com and saw lots of positive reviews and so went ahead and ordered. I'm so glad I did! The brushes arrived from amazon quickly. They are very well packaged in a premium outer cardboard box. The brushes are presented in a wraparound case with pockets for each brush. The brushes themselves are very soft and well made. I had recently spent £40 on Technique brushes which I returned to the shop to buy these instead and I'm far more pleased with the Shany brushes. All brushes are a good size too. The thing I am most pleased about too, which I hadn't noticed initially, is that Shany products are cruelty free and members of PETA! Well done Shany Cosmetics!!

Well worth the money
I had never heard of shany cosmetics before, but I was searching for a new brush set that was cruelty free, the bamboo brush set look so nice and natural, really please, applys make up really well! And came in 2 days of ordering! Very happy
