Perfect
I have used Boye Crochet Hooks for 50 years. It was the brand of hook I used when I first learned to crochet and, in my opinion, they are the easiest to use. They are consistently smooth and allow the yarn to slide gently over the surface. I rarely have trouble with yarn splitting and I have never had a hook snag the yarn or work. This set includes the sizes used most often. I purchased it as a gift for my granddaughter when she was interested in learning to crochet. I wanted her to have everything she needed to enjoy a new lifelong hobby.

Standard great for travel and beginners.
I still go back to these again and again. I like the lightness and the flat spot for grip. The hook slides smoothly over the yarn, making the whole crocheting process faster and less effort.

Perfect for me
These crochet hooks were perfect for my needs. I am just learning and wanted the variety of sizes without the high cost. Also these are perfectly smooth so there is nothing for the yarn to catch on like some of the wood hooks.

Wrong Colors!
First photo is my recent order but in wrong colors because the advertisement showed the colors like the one in the second photo. I wish it could have these lovely colors of lavender, light blue, green and maybe yellow. Any chance I can find the colors I'd wanted?

Quality Still
This is my all-time favorite brand. They are smooth, the thumb grip is comfortable even for my now older hands. This set includes the MOST COMMON sizes and they will last a lifetime...unless you are really turning out phenomenal amounts of items. All the ones I own and have had a lifetime...even some from Mom and Grandma...are steady. The *TAPER" is perfect and more comfortable in hand than the "in-line" type. ((The only reason I bought this set was to experiment converting to a corded Tunisian style because I am skeptical of the in-line pre-made being suitable fro me. (I'm buying moldable clay and flex tubing.)) **the polished aluminum makes these "QUICK"...so if speed is your need...go for these.

They're smaller than the older ones
I accidentally gave my crochet hooks to charity. I finally made my mind up to purchase some new ones in this set. They smaller than my older ones by .5mm. Very annoyed with myself for getting rid of my old favorites and disappointed in my new purchase. That said, if you're buying a new set for the first time, you should be just fine.

Great beginner set! Smooth hooks!
These are great, smooth, glide through the wool easily, no snags or dragging. Can crochet quickly if you add a cushion for each hook like I do. My favourite cushion is the Susan Bates striped ones. They make a very comfortable ergonomic hook combination for an enjoyable experience for extended hours of crochet! This hook set is an economic good quality set to actually enjoy the art. Note....the new hook sizes are off by .25. So you aren't getting the advertised ones. But you can make a swatch and adjust your hook size to fit your pattern, just google it, or Pinterest it, etc. These are very good quality for the price. Metal hooks glide better though the wool, faster and can take a lot of tough pressure of the toy making. I have used these type with a cushion for 20 years. I had tried some new ergonomic hooks for a few years, but am now coming back to this style because the ergonomic ones hurt my hands. I have tried three types of the very expensive hooks and they all hurt my hands. You won't be disappointed in these, they are a great beginner set, most of what you would need to fill out a complete set. The rest of the hooks that are missing are more speacialized sizes. You can buy as needed for specific projects, or adjust hook with your pattern. Thank you.

I have a bunch of Boyle hooks and they're good. I needed this set because it has a lot of quarter measures (.25, .75)
