Practical set and came in Mikasa packaging!
This is a great, practical set for everyday use. It’s a bright, cool white, and it is almost translucent in the light-just as bone china should be. After using heavy stoneware for so long, it is nice to have such a light set of dishes. They also do not seem to get as hot in the microwave, which is nice. They have done very well in the dishwasher so far, even with the sanitize and extra shine cycles on. One thing I appreciated was that they came in actual Mikasa packaging instead of Lifetime Brands, and they were virtually perfect-no chips or scratches. These things may be related? My husband was a little disappointed that there were no 6” cereal bowls included in this set. I believe this is where Lucerne and Delray differ. Lucerne has the tiny 4” fruit/dessert bowls and the rimmed soup bowl, which is too shallow for cereal. Cereal bowls have to be purchased somewhere else. I found another pattern of Mikasa’s cereal bowls that coordinate with this basic set at Marshall’s today for $12 and now everyone is happy. The only thing I would change about this set is the mugs. I don’t love how the handle feels. It’s a bit subjective, I am sure, but they are not comfortable for me to hold. Other than that, they do nicely hold a 10 oz cup of coffee.

Clean, simple everyday china
Beautiful in its simplicity; also pairs great with my Wedgwood signet platinum set. The “bowl” in this set is a wide soup bowl, so I also ordered 8 cereal-type bowls from another maker for more practical, everyday use. Only real issue is that one salad plate came through shattered, and I’ve yet to figure out how to leave seller feedback that I need just one plate replaced!

One plate arrived broken.
The media could not be loaded. All of the dishes arrived this morning. Only one salad plate arrived broken in pieces. Everything else was fine.

Beautiful but poor quality
I have heard about this brand for many years and finally when the time came to buy my first set, I aimed for it with no hesitation. I truly like the simplicity and design, as well as the make. After a while using them, I noticed the shinny effect of it is wearing off and shades of gray or light yellow are appearing. I was so disappointed and confused. Never expected that from a brand with that reputation. I wish I knew what caused this so I can prevent this. But you would think these dishes are made to contain all kind of food, right? Although I am disappointed with the quality, I like the design and will continue using them.

I wouldn’t have bought these in a store
Mikasa put out a thin, cheap feeling product. The cereal bowls are so small that they are useless. I would not have purchased these if I had seen and touched them in a store. I was relying on the Mikasa name. Bad choice.

Beautiful set, but one piece missing…
I purchased this same set roughly a year ago, and loved it, so now I purchased another because 8 settings wasn’t enough, lol! The dishes are durable & the box says oven safe, which is a plus. The new set arrived in good condition, except one dinner plate which was finished a little rough on the bottom AND one fruit bowl is missing (I just unpacked them now)!! Considering I’m paying more for the second set, this is disappointing. Hopefully, the seller can send me an additional fruit bowl…?

No breakage with 40 pieces of dinnerware.
I love my Mikasa dinnerware. Microwave and dishwasher safe . Amazon delivery was promp and even a day early! I was concerned about breakage But not one chip.
