I keep coming back to these

I've been using these countersinks for years. I've broken a few bits over the years but it was usually operator error. The only bad thing I can say is the replacement bits are overpriced. I have a collection of extra countersink pieces because it's cheaper to buy a new set than to replace just the drill bits.

These are great drill and countersink tools...

I love these tools and have used this brand for years, but have a hard time finding them locally anymore. Although a "helper" will occasionally break a drill bit, the tools themselves last for years and (literally) thousands of holes. I had to replace my old set with this new one because my old set now has both the #8 and #10 bits missing. Hard to live without those two. I would definitely recommend this set to anyone who likes nice crisp countersunk holes for the screws in their projects, not to mention how nice the tapered starter hole for your screw threads are.

Great tools

I'm building a wooden boat at home and had some old screw set bits from years ago that I knew would not keep up with the 500+ stainless screws required. I've used the #8 and #10 bits from this set about 100+ times so far and they are really superb. The tapered bit really makes a difference and they work perfectly. Drill holes in a block of wood to store them and one for the allen wrench and you're in business. Highly recommended from this amateur wood-worker.

Wolcraft Countersink Set

Best Countersink Set to have. This is my second set after many years of professional use. The tapered bits are tougher that traditional drill bits and seldom break unless really abused saving time changing bits in the middle of a job. Only negative is the set screw for the bits cannot hold in hard wood. To fix this, I just grind a flat on all the bit shanks before using . . .Wolcraft Screw Setter Set with Tapered Drill Bits .

I don’t believe that they were made in Germany

Poor quality, the drill bit broke once first use. The reason is my one tapered drill bit only works as a coarse screws. It snapped in the woods and I had no way to take it out and it broke.

Mission accomplished-very happy with bits

Bits are very sharp, especially the cutters on the countersink. Drilled many holes in Hem fir and could not afford any splitting from the screws. Mission accomplished-very happy with bits. With the particular screw i was using on this project, I installed the #6 bit into a larger countersink cutter/holder as the screw head called for the larger diameter. Interchangeability was seamless with no problems. I would recommend these bits.

Would have given a 4 or maybe even 5 stars but... The allen key to adjust the length of the drill bit is very difficult to maintain a tight connection. Love the clean counter sink they cut and love the tapered drill bits. Just wish the allen keys were better. I've used the one they provided and several others from my other sets of keys. None worked well enough to securely hold the drill bits.
