Paint you can

I painted these for a SW May 4th SCA event. The paint held up to several bought of armored combatants hitting them with retain swords. I did a light sanding to scuff up the surface, cleaned with rubbing alcohol, and then sprayed several thin coats of Krylon Fusion rattle cans. I waited 24 hours before masking with frog tape and spraying the second color or free handing with acrylic paint. Then clear coated. So far it is working fine. It does have scuffs and scratches, but most every SCA shield does.

Indestructible Buckler

The only cons of this buckler are that it's plastic and a little bit light.

Fantastic buckler

I bought this buckler out of an interest in having a realistic but inexpensive shield for training purposes, and this more than fits the bill. I was pleasantly surprised at this product's high quality and how good it feels in the hand. Its weight and portability are perfect: small and light enough to be easily transported and not fatigue the user with use, but thick and heavy enough to block attacks and even be used as an offensive weapon. I'm tempted to use this for training with a punching bag, but in all likelihood, it'd destroy the bag. While clearly labeled for training purposes and use against non-metal weaponry, in a less-than-free jurisdiction, this could be a very affordable and effective option for defending oneself against hooligans under a variety of circumstances. For under $30, I'm very pleased with my purchase.

This is a good product, as if I were t try and stab a knife, it's like it would bounce out or smth. It makes a little dent to most things. I love this product, and I think it would be great for war, but not so durable for gunshots. More like a combat-war.

Durable, watch how you use it

The buckler is incredibly durable and amazing for its price, it was able to withstand an aluminum baseball bat with minimal damage. Be careful when using it like if it was a brass knuckle, because the vibrations go to your hands. Otherwise it is really good.

A good Coldsteel product

This thing is a TANK! Like ANYTHING Coldsteel, it is heavier than it probably should be but it’s durability makes up for it. I’ve watched a lot of YouTube videos of people TRYING to break these things & failing. I’m going to attempt to build a brawler style shield out of this one using ZNA’s technique (slightly modified).. Pretty much indestructable

Don't let the polypropeline plastic fool you, this buckler is as tough as they come. It handles nimbly enough for parries and even buckler strikes with the edge. Theres literally a video on youtube of people firing handguns at this in torture tests and it stopping rounds. It took a .44 magnum to finally break it in the test video. Highly reccomend.

well its a buckler

So this was kinda a impulse buy as i was looking towards selfdefense weapons on youtube and a video with this came along. For any one that like me live in a country where protecting yourself in your own home could mean having to go to jail because of what you use, this is a great. I have been using my friend as a test dummy and it works great. I dont even call it a buckler anymore i call i a free strike, because it opens up the guy in front of you every time. And if the laws in your country are better then mine and you still dont want to use a gun then unless the intruder is on drugs nobody are gonna charge you with this infront of you and a machete/hammer or bat in the other hand. Even with your bare hands it gives you a change to open him up for the first strike and 9 out of ten times thats what wins the fight. So buy it, practice with it and go full dark knight on their asses :)
