Mantel Scarf: Product Description is Missing Vital Information

While this is a pretty desig, am currently in the process of attempting to obtain a return/refund on this mantel scarf. At 95” in length it drapes over either end of my 72” mantel just as I expected. However, what the website description doesn’t tell buyers is that the center segment, which drapes over the front of the mantel, is significantly shorter in length. The product photo depicts the side panels hanging very close to either end of the center panel such that there is no gap. However, on my mantel the center segment feel short of the corners on my mantel by about 8 inches on either side, which in no way resembled the photo for the product. I can only assume that the mantel scarf was intended for a mantel about half the size of mine — but, again, the description did not indicate that this mantel scarf will only work with a significantly smaller mantel. I wish the mantel scarf had indicated on the package that it was designed to accommodate a particular mantel length but the package, too, was lacking this information. It wasn’t until I attempted to put it on my mantel that I realized that the gaps were too large as to be reasonable. I’m not sure what mantel size this would best be suited for but based on the fact that it is 95” long yet is paired to a very short center segment, I doubt it would look balanced even on a smaller mantel because the side portions would be extremely long relative to the center segment. In any case, the description of the product leaves too much to be desired. Had the package been any clearer I would have known to return it immediately. Unfortunately, the package was equally vague and so it took opening it to realize that it wasn’t a good fit.
