UPDATED REVIEW - Needs Half Sizes! But More Durable & Flexible than Other Brands of Same Style Shoes

Original Review with an Update! After purchasing these shoes in size 6 (same style and brand from the same seller) which we found to be too large and tended to cause my husband to trip over the tips of the shoes - we tried the size 5, but they were just too small for his feet. Several places on the size 5 shoe pinched my husband's feet and were generally uncomfortable. The upside is that both sizes of the shoes are slightly more flexible compared to some similar shoes we have purchased in the past for him. This shoe REALLY needs to be offered in half sizes - which it is currently NOT as of 4/28/2018 - to work for my husband, which is why it gets such a low rating. Update - 9/14/2019: We tried ordering another pair of size 5 of these shoes, thinking that we might be lucky enough to get a size 5 that was cut slightly larger, which we did. ???? So, now we had a good fitting shoe for my husband to wear. Suffice it to say, these shoes have surpassed all of our expectations in terms of durability. The size 5 we received that is slightly larger cut is really comfortable for my husband. But the thing that has impressed us the most is how long these shoes have lasted compared to other very similar shoes we purchased in the past. We ordered in March, and my husband is just now letting me know that we need to replace these, a period of six months. That doesn't sound impressive until you know that we had been buying this style of shoe (in other brands) every two months for my husband, since he's really hard on his shoes. Calculate the math: that means these shoes lasted us three times longer than other brands we've purchased in the past. For how well the shoes have lasted, I'm raising my original two star review to a three star review. The reason it's not getting a higher review is that the sizing is very unpredictable, so I don't even know that does size 5 that I'm ordering this time will fit. I'll just hope for luck! Also, the manufacturer STILL NEEDS TO OFFER HALF SIZES, at least in big boys sizes. We have received absolutely no compensation of any kind for this review! That should be the gold standard for reviews.

I got these shoes for my 8 year old son and they fit really well and are a good price. My only drawback is that they scuff easily and after wearing them about four times they already have scuffed off the toe. I just need something more durable for kids, but at this price and how quickly my son grows, I'm okay with getting a new pair sooner rather than later.

Perfect for my wide foot 5 year old

These were great for my 5 year old who has a wide foot and needed a nice pair of shoes for being a ring bearer in a wedding. The shoes at the tux rental place just didn’t fit his foot right. I highly recommend these. Good fit, look and price.

Smart looking shoes.

Great shoes for school. Hope they last! My son is rough on his shoes so if they last until December, I will probably be content with that. They seem to be a bit big but at this age, that will change soon enough. The laces seem a bit longer than normal so I have to really make sure that he ties them well.

Great Boys Dress Shoe!

Love these dress shoes. My little boy is 8 yrs old and normally wears a size 5.5 . I ordered size 6 and they were way too big. So I ordered a 5 and they fit perfect! Love these shoes. They are a great price, handsome, and he says they are very comfortable to wear, especially for dress shoes. Great price too! Im not sending the size 6 back because he can wear them next year. Thanks!!

nice looking shoes that are not for every day use

I needed dress shoes in a hurry, as we were attending a funeral and my 8 year old did not have any 'dress shoes'. He normally wears a 2.5 and we ordered that size, they were plenty big with growing room but not too big. I would NOT advise ordering up! To sum it up, if you are looking for inexpensive, nice looking shoes that are not for every day use, these are perfect!

Well made shoes. If in doubt just go for it.

If your reading reviews and any of your concerns are the shoe being too klunky / too heavy, quality being poor or the shoe being too narrow for regular feet, pull the trigger and get these. They are none of the above. Purchased these for my kindergarteners graduation. They fit as expected and look so nice . I purchased a size 1 for my 5 year old. Had a little bit of room but I think a size smaller would be uncomfortable.
