Good product
Did what it was supposed to do. Directions could be clearer, but common sense dictated how to insert them. First time I put them in backwards. Properly inserted they still felt a little "noticeable" in there, so I wore them first time during a shorter nap, to get acclimated. The first morning I was fairly surprised that I could barely feel them in my nose. Certainly kept my nostrils more open, any higher congestion is beyond their responsibility.

Fresh air without the hassle
Great little product, with an innovative, effective design. I'd been using adhesive strips for the past year to allow me, a guy with allergies, to breathe normally and reduce bouts of snoring. This product works almost as well for me, without all the daily unpackaging, sticky glue, and monthly expense. I have a smallish nose, which fits the clip well, but I have no idea how it might work with larger or smaller noses. If it fits, though, the air flows nicely although I keep the second clip handy at bedside; once or twice a week, the clip pops out while I'm sleeping, and I simply reach over and pop in another one if I notice. Just a minor annoyance for me, especially considering the alternatives. If you give this a try, just be sure to insert it correctly and then experiment a bit for comfort. Mine has never hurt after I figured out the correct way to insert it (the instructions are foggy) and then gave my nose a week or so to adapt. For me, some mild initial discomfort, nothing more, once I learned that the two tiny balls should face inward and not touch the skin. Definitely remember that if you buy. (Better instructions are available online if you Google "video instructions nozovent".) My only concern is long-term: how long will the clips last? My first pair have more or less retained their shape for several weeks, thus far, but even a slight change can reduce effectiveness. At least they're cheap and come in pairs. Meanwhile, I'm sleeping well, with the added peace of mind that I'm waking my wife less often. It's nearly all good. UPDATE IN MAY 2010: I'm approaching the end of my second year with this product. I stand by the above review, but I've learned that I can make each clip deliver peak performance for a month or two (when I retire it because it gets dirty despite washing). So one pack lasts me about 3-4 months. Here's the simple trick: bending the clip backward (the sides with the tiny balls facing outward) while not in use. I use a twist tie (the type that comes with trash bags) that I've made into a small circle, and I just insert the nasal clip into the circle each morning--with the clip bent backward, the opposite of how I wear it at night. This process takes five seconds, and the clip then regains its original shape and effectiveness before night falls. It's such an easy way to prolong clip life that I have to wonder if the company holds that little secret tightly. Whatever, I do like this product. Maybe you will, too, but needs and noses differ. UPDATE IN FEB 2023: I've been using a different Amazon product in recent years -- Rhinomed Turbine Nasal Dilator for Athletic Breathing. A similar approach that works nearly as well and with zero pain or pressure in my nose. I use each one for at least a month, so the cost is about $7/mo. I only need them for sleeping, which they certainly help, and my wife says they look cool. Done. Good luck with your search.

uncomfortable, falls out, Silent Sleep beats this one hands down!
One of the best nasal dilators I ever used was Sullys Nose spreader, this was the first of its kind. Thin surgical steel wire shaped similar to Silent Sleep except there was a wide loop at each end which not only pressed out the side walls of the nostrils but the loop sat against the inner part of the nostril to create resistance. The genius inventor-engineer Robert Sullivan created the prototype for himself 20 years ago as he said he slept with straws up his nose to open his nasal passages..I was so impressed I could finally breathe at nite that I tried to get my long time allergist to supply them for his patients. My allergist tried one and when I saw him the following week said he wouldn't carry them for his patients. When I asked him why he said his patients wouldn't come to him anymore, their breathing problems would be solved! I know Mayo clinic used Sullys for their patients. Unfortunately Mr. Sullivan passed away and the business closed. Sullys Nose Spreaders are not available anymore. I have been using my leftover Sully Nose spreaders for the last 20 years, and a few months ago when I realized I had only one Sully Nose Spreader left I went on an active search for a replacement. About 2 weeks ago I discovered Silent Sleep nasal dilator from Snore Stop -available on Amazon. Absolutely the best! I suffer from small nasal passages combined with allergies to dust and I am a lazy house cleaner. At nite my nose stuffs up when I lie down. I have tried all the internal nasal dilators over the last several months to replace Sullys--Nosovent-the large hurt( Big mistake, I bought large because I wanted to really really breathe) and the medium fell out almost immediately and felt uncomfortable and weird compared to Sullys. I tried the Ultimate Nasal Dilator, a thicker wire contraption that you fit over your nose and the ends go into your nose-too uncomfortable with all the steel on the outside and the prongs that go into your nose feel weird. Another thing I tried was the Nose Cone, the plastic was so flimsy it collapsed under the weight of the sides of my nose. Breathe Right hardly worked as well as Sullys, just opened the nostrils a little, the "extra strength" is better but is too thick and rigid and felt uncomfortable, I think my nose was sweating under it! I ripped it off after wearing it for about a half hour. Another I tried is the Breathe With Eeze, actually an effective but expensive product that works well as long as you don't break it! You have to spread the wires apart to fit your nose and the steel is so thin it breaks very easily when you spread it apart- way too expensive to keep replacing them. I broke them they were too fragile. Other dilators I tried were either so flimsy they collapsed under the weight of the side walls of my nostrils, or they took up so much space in my nose there wasn't any space left over to breathe! The Silent Sleep by Snore Stopper is the best! It is made from a lightweight flexible coated plastic which you can adjust to how wide you want it to go-just like my beloved Sullys Nose Spreader.. To me the best part is that the part that spreads your nostrils open go the full height of the product so you can open your nostrils way up to the top of the nostrils( not only the bottom part at the opening of your nostrils)-just like the Sullys Nose Spreder. I can't even feel Silent Sleep in my nose and it does not need time to get used to. Comfortable from the get go you don't even know its there. When I read a review from another reviewer on the Amazon site who highly recommeneded Silent Sleep (by Snore Stopper)I thought I'd give it a try. Thank you reviewer!! Hands down Silent Sleep is the most comfortable and most effective internal nasal dilator I have tried since Sullys. And at a fraction of the cost-only $9.99!! I am so impressed I ordered 5 so I will always have them. (If you order 4 or more they give you one free) I have been using this for a week now and I couldn't be happier!!Thank you Silent Sleep!
