Disappointing
Boy, I just don't like these shoes. But the problem with a tap shoe is that you can't tell if you like it until you work in it for awhile, and then, of course, if you don't like it you cannot return it. I've been buying Sanshas for years. My first pair lasted 9 years, tapping about 16 hours a week. The next pair, same model, was great except the non-skid pad on the bottom started coming off after one year. Unlike my other Sansha shoes, these are really stiff. I've been working in them for a week and they are still dreadfully uncomfortable. They don't even have the same upper finish as my last shoes of the same model. The tap tone is lovely, though, and if I ever get them broken in I suppose I will grow to like them. But it seems that, like every other product in the world today, the quality has just gone downhill.

Followed Review Advices, Fits Perfectly!
I am picky about my tap shoes, and I have always loved the split sole Oxfords. I've never had a problem with sizing before, but I'd never used Sansha's before, and the sizing chart confused me. I followed the advice of several considerate reviewers, and bought the size 10 M. I wear a size 7 to 7 1/2 street shoe, and the 10 M fits -PERFECTLY-. For ladies who wear a solid 7 street shoe, the 10 may be a tad big, but you can wear socks and there's no problem. For ladies who wear a solid 7 1/2, this will fit perfectly. I've been tapping in them for two weeks now, love them, very comfortable, true to size, and a great product.

Beautiful sounds and well crafted for wide feet
These are for wide feet! Thank you! My feet don't hurt anymore

Good quality shoe, sizing is difficult.
I usually wear an 8.5 to a 9N and these are a bit too small on my toe (slight crunch) and too wide at the same time. Still, for the price they work and they look nice. Quite difficult to judge the sizing here. The split sole means there isn't a lot of support but it's really easy to do toe steps and point a bit as well.

Run Incredibly small!! Must order 4 sizes larger than normal street shoe size
I ordered 2 sizes larger than my normal shoe size based on other recommendations (via Amazon & other web reviews). I normally wear a women's 8 or 8.5 so I ordered the women's 10...and they are way too small!! They look more like a women's size 7. I am returning them and just reordered, this time a women's 12....that's how far the sizing is out of whack. Otherwise, the shoes look really well made. Soft leather and good construction. Once I get the right size, I think they'll be great.

Great shoe as long as you size up.
I spend my summers working semi-professionally with a musical theater company, and I was looking for black oxford taps to take to classes and auditions. However, the tans were on sale for about half the price, so I turned down the black shoes and ordered the tan. My shipment came promptly and I was pleasantly surprised to see I'd been sent the black ones, even though they hadn't been listed at a sale price! I tend to be in between a size 8 and an 8.5, and since a lot of reviewers were saying to order up several sizes, I bought these in a size 11. They're a tiny bit on the snug side, but once they stretch out I'm sure they'll be just fine. The taps also sound nice for the price. Excited to try these out in rehearsals!

Sizes are hard to determine
These shoes look really nice on my daughter's feet and they are comfortable BUT it was a major system of trial and error to get the size correct! Thank goodness Amazon provided free shipping on shoes!!! She wears a true women's size 11.5. We started with size 13 for Sansha, based on the size chart, but she ended up needing a size 17. It is the same for the ballet slippers made by Sansha. These shoes are sized VERY SMALL. Other than the back and forth, the shoes are working out well.
