How to install
I viewed others writing about install. It is much easier than I read. 1) Slide the plastic piece back a little and remove from spring assembly. It has a slot to do this, it is not solid. 2) Push spring retainer through the hole in the bracket that will hold the door retainer. 3) Put the plastic clip back on the metal retainer. Done There is no need to compress the spring or bend the metal clip.

Water heater door cam lock
Product was as advertised. No instructions included but easy enough to search for installation instruction on YouTube. Took all of 30 seconds to install. A bit pricey for what it is, but better than the plastic OEM piece.

Does not hold well
This product some what works. The metal clip is too thin and pulls out of the base when any pressure is applied to it.

Fits Suburban Water Heater on my 2007 Roadtrek 210 Popular
Very easy to install. Took only a couple of minutes. No instructions were included which I already knew before buying. Just go to Youtube to find an installation video. I replaced the OEM (plastic) cam lock with this steel one and it should last a very long time. This will insure that you won't lose your RV water heater cover while you are driving. Initially, the stem from this new cam lock would not fit through the hole where the OEM cam lock was removed. All you need to do is just use a pair of pliers and squeeze the tip of the stem to make it fit through the hole. Then attach the thumb tab to the stem and that's it. BTW, the thumb tab is thinner than the OEM plastic one and should fit through the slot on your water heater cover with no problem.

Exactly what you can expect!
Comes in a pack of 2 and is built with a strong metal. Better than the plastic one I previously had that busted. Used on an 08 tent trailer, likely a pretty universal fit and half price compared to most dealers.
