handle
Just got my mixer so can’t say too much right now. I didn’t know the handle was going to be made of that rubberized material that gets sticky after a while????. I usually stay away from that. The beaters are easy to attach and it has a very high speed. It also has a low speed for those of you worried about flour flying all over. I will be updating when I use it more.

The best hand-held mixer I've ever owned
I bought this almost a year and a half ago and waited to give it a fair review. This is a fabulous little mixer. I compare to the 2 hand-held KitchenAid mixers I have had over the years and do not count the couple of other nondescript ones that just functioned until they died, and nothing else. This is vastly superior to the Kitchen-Aid in every way (except the color: One of my KitchenAids was a nice red, too). It is substantial and has a nice heavy base, so there is no worry about it tipping over, but it's easy to handle for my small hands, which has been an issue with past mixers. It has beaters, a whisk, and dough hooks! Remarkable. I have not used the dough hooks because I make my bread using a stand mixer, but the beaters and whisk work great. The speeds are just right--not so many that it is a pain to run through them all before you get the one you want--and the "turbo" speed is ok if you need it. The color is very nice--cherry red--and matches other appliances in my kitchen. The only thing I don't understand is: Why did I pay $47.82 for this thing a year ago (comparable to the KitchenAid, so I thought it was a fair price), and now the price has dropped to $14.99????? Incredible. All I can do is sigh, enjoy the mixer, and buy 3 more for my kids for presents--as long as the price stays low.

Fall apart
Easy to grip and handle. Mix well. Bonus that it seats up

Could have been great, but ends up just alright.
Bit of a mixed bag here. This mixer was to replace one I bought in Target a few years back. This Russell Hobbs mixer is better in many ways, but could easily have scored 5. Positives: I like the fact that the mixer stands on its end so your not balancing it on the bowl or dripping batter/egg/cream every time you put it down to add ingredients. The low speed setting actually is low speed (why do so many brands struggle with this?). The cable is actually long enough that you can be more than 2” from a socket. Could be improved: No cord storage. Really, why not just add a simple molded ridge and clip to let you wrap the cable? It wouldn’t even cost anything? The control buttons are just plain stupid. Come on RH, just use a simple switch. The +/- buttons that activate every-time you move your hand are just unnecessary and will almost certainly go wrong. Not bowled over by the build quality either. Does feel a bit cheap for a $50 mixer. So all in all a mixed bag. It’s definitely been engineered for people who actually want to use it to bake which is great, but the execution appears a bit form over function at times (and I’m not sure I even like the form).

Very nice mixer-it actually has a "slow" speed :-)
I am satisfied with this mixer. #1 + is it has an actual "slow" speed. It does not fling your batter/eggs all over the kitchen. The "turbo speed" is well done because you just have to hold down the "+" button for 1 or 2 seconds and "turbo speed" kicks in - and when you let go of the "+" button it returns to the speed you had it on so you don't have to run it thru all the speed settings to go back to where you were just before "turbo speed". The mechanism for locking in the tools is very good as there is a distinct click/lock when you insert the tools so you know they are secure and won't fly out when you turn the mixer on. The eject button works nicely also. The tools are metal and not plated plastic. I have not tried using the mixer with the dough hooks. I don't do much baking so I can't really comment on their ability to mix dough or the torque of the mixer in heavy dough but I can say it is a solid built mixer and you probably won't have any problem mixing dough. The "off/on", speed selector, and ejection buttons are located well so you don't accidentally press one in error while mixing. The electric cord is 60" (5 feet) long which is nice also. For the price it is a very good mixer. I originally wanted a counter top stand mixer but don't have the room for it on my counter tops. This fits nicely in a cabinet or drawer. Overall I am very pleased with this mixer.

Helped me make my first cake!
I wanted to attempt to make a cake for Father’s Day (so late on the review I know). I would definitely recommend this. It had the right speeds for mixing and for whipping. It definitely got the job done. One of my fears when buying any types of appliance is the motor burning out but this didn’t! I’ve used it two more time after baking the cake still holding up strong! ALSO keep the box it’s very handy for storing it.

Great product!
Just received this and have used it once (for quick bread batter). It is small, compact, stands on end over a bowl without once falling over, the beaters are of substantial weight and look like they will last very well, feels good in my hand (average size), and it's quiet. Oh, and it's a really cute deep cherry color. The only problem I had was inserting the beaters for the first time-If you are holding the mixer by the handle with the beaters facing away, the one with the metal collar goes in the right side, NOT the left. When you first turn the mixer on, nothing happens for a second (don't worry!) and then it starts slowly and increases speed-different concept from my old mixer, but you also don't have to worry about batter flying about. So, all in all, controls are a touch different since it's a British product (the company has been in business since 1952), but if you're smart enough to read a recipe, you'll figure it out in no time! Comes with a 2-year manufacturer's warranty, so I didn't buy the extended warranty- compared to a lot of products, it seems very substantial and well-made, and I will enjoy using it (hopefully for years to come).
