Worked great for me

These Rugged Ridge 18265.16 Shackles were a second choice. Originally I purchased a set of Warrior Products welded shackles, but I worked for two days trying to install them. It seemed like I just needed 2-3 thousandths more clearance, and it was clear I didn’t have the expertise to make that happen without bruising them to the point that they couldn’t be returned. I took them and my Jeep to a couple of shops in town and they couldn’t get them on either. One shop said they thought they were for the back springs, and the front springs took a different set. I found the Rugged Ridge shackles during an Amazon search for an alternative product. They arrived in about two days and I had them on in less than an hour, and they can be greased for longer wear. I bought the Warrior Products set locally, so I just took them back. I think the Warrior Products shackles are a good choice if you have very well equipped garage with ample experience, neither of which I have. So if you’re anything like me, the Rugged Ridge shackles are for guys like us. I got the lift I needed, about an inch, so I can get snow chains on without a lot of effort, and none of the frustration from an install gone wrong. Don’t get me wrong, I have about $10,000 invested in small tools…enough to have upset my wife several times over, but my tools are spread across a wide range of applications, wood working, gunsmithing, watch repair, farming, electrical, plumbing, automotive repair, etc. I just didn’t have enough experience with the automotive tools to let me find ways to get beyond my clearance issues, without damaging the Warrior Products set enough to make them not returnable.
