Easy to install with high quality parts

This was really simple to install and didn't take too long. Instructions are okay but I watched a video on extreme terrains website for the product to show me what to do. I did take off the bumper to install. You don't have to but it really helps give you more room to make it easier. All the parts are powder coated with good welds.

Super easy install.

I bought this to put on my 2014 wrangler. The kit comes with everything you need except the tools. I thought at first I might have to remove the bumper but I figured out the trick to getting the nuts in place. Use the closed end of a combination wrench slightly larger than the nut size to hold the nut in place. Then push this up between the bumper and the frame. Push the bolt through the holes in the frame and hitch and maneuver the nut with the combination wrench until it meets the bolt then hand tighten just to get the nut secured to the bolt. Repeat with the remaining three bolts, then tighten down as you normally would, using a proper sized wrench and socket. The wiring harness even has the plastic snap connectors attached that correspond to the holes pre-drilled at the factory. Couldn't be easier.

Easily installs on the JL.

After a lot of research, I was finally able to confirm this would work for the JL. As a jeep and mechanical rookie, I can confirm anyone can confirm that anyone can attach this. My dealer tried to sell me an installed hitch for $400. This cost me $120, so that means more jeep toys for me. At first, I was a little nervous, as watching youtube installation videos, they all reference sliding the four screws through and attaching the bolts. My jeep had to bolts already in the outside holes that screw into the bumper. Simply unscrew those two bolts, then you can wedge the hitch where it needs to go and run the bolts through. I found that the muffler really didn't get in my way with installation. The hardest parts were getting the factory-installed bolts on my jeep loose (which just required some elbow grease) and keeping the flashlight from getting in the way. I haven't installed the wire harness yet, as I have no immediate need, but the videos make it look equally as easy. Packaging was very professional and this was delivered timely. I recommend this.

Easy installation, and works great!

Easy installation. I had to loosen my bumper to get he nuts/washers installed. Otherwise works great, and the wiring harness makes the whole kit worth while. Used it one already to tow a trailer to get a snowblower. Worked just as it should!! Installation took me about 30mins. No need to jack the jeep up, just block the wheels to be safe, grab a beer or two... Torqued the bolts to 80ftlbs, that was the hardest part being underneath and using one hand with a box wrench to keep the nylon nut from moving too. If I had to install another one, I could do it in 20mins or less knowing now what I needed to do with the bumper. Others have said they didn't need to mess with the bumper, but I found it too much of a pain to try to get it started.

Good product, very tight installation.

Seems to be made strong and we have towed a lil camper a few times with no probs. Installation was fairly easy but you need to have some skinny hands to get the washers and nuts started on the back side. It took me about 45 minutes to install and 35 of it was trying to get the nuts on the backside. Was finally able to get a long crescent wrench squeezed tight enough on the nut where I could turn the bolt to get it started. Once it's started you're golden. Installed on a 2012 wrangler sahara unlimited.

Outstanding Hitch

Not only did this arrive on time, but it was well packaged. The quality of the hitch surpassed my expectations. Outstanding powder coating, no rough edges or bad welds that effect the look of the hitch. I am especially grateful that there were no welded nuts, because from what I have seen, the weld jobs look like crap. The wiring kit alone is worth what I paid for the kit, and then it comes with a very durable and heavy duty hitch cover valued at over $16.00 at Amazon. Could not have made a better purchase. Extremely happy with this product. I removed the bumper, which made the job easier for me. If your not in a hurry, you can take your time and knock it out in about 45-minutes.

The hitch installed easy and functions better than I expected

This hitch was mounted onto the frame of my 2016 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. I purchased it for my Bike Carrier. It functions better than I had expected. I was concerned that just a "bolt on" hitch might not be stable, but I underestimated the engineering, I am very pleased. The electrical plug went in easy, as per the instructions, but periodically I was getting a "Tail Light Out" signal on my dash and the tail light would not function. Then for no apparent reason, it would go away and my tail light starts working again. I tried some electrical contact gel in the provided electrical splitter after checking the connections several times, that did not help, so I have disconnected the electrical portion. JH

Great product

Bought for my 2007 Jeep wrangler 2 door. Fit well and easy install. Had to remove the rear bumper and left rear tail light. Took around 45 minutes with some sockets and wrenches. Only complaint is the white plastic clips mounted along the wiring harness. They are suppose to "plug" into holes along the frame and cab to secure the harness in place. These clips are poor and break easily. Would be better if a handful of zip ties came with it. Arrived very fast via Canada post. Very happy.

Easy install!

Wow! My local dealer quoted me almost $1000 CDN to install these. Amazon and YouTube got them installed for $160 CDN and about an hour worth of my time. Haven't had the chance to tow yet, but looks and feels solid. Can't believe that one little electrical connection makes all trailer lights work. Awesome! . If you can turn a wrench (or know someone that can) and a screwdriver, save yourself a ton of money and DIY!

Nice kit, very easy to install

Nice kit, very easy to install. I just unhooked the exhaust from it's 2 hangers to get some more wiggle room for the bolts. Harness was straight forward plug and play from the rear of the left tail light. One thing to mention is the plastic push pins are kinda cheap and will only go in once. I had one in the wrong spot and it broke when removing it. They are ok for a one time install. Also absolutely love the built in 4 pin flat connector bracket holder for the wiring harness. Total install time is less then 30 mins.

perfect for the 10a bumper

I bought a Rubicon Hard Rock off a lot, and couldn't located one with a tow package. Thankfully! This one for 1/5 the price of the factory option took 20 minutes to install, perfect for the 10a bumper, no need to use the nuts and bolts included, just the factory installed bolts. Looks and works perfectly!

Sturdy and easy

Purchased for 2016 wrangler JKU with factory bumper. Went on like a breeze A little tricky lining up electrical cord but nothing a zip tie couldn't fix. Have only used with a bike carrier but one that hangs out a pice because of spare tire. So far sturdy.
