Delta RP63136 diverter assembly will not fit older faucets? And a solution.
My Delta kitchen faucet is about 20 years old. I like this faucet. It's been a great performer, but has been leaking lately. Using parts information from Delta, I ordered all new OEM replacements for all the parts that can be replaced--O-rings, springs, etc. Everything fit great--until I reached the diverter assembly. I noted the old diverter, although broken, fit perfectly in its cubbyhole, which is what's supposed to happen. However, the new diverter--Part No. 63136--would not go in. I tried every imaginable variation of grasping, rotating, and pushing but it refused to seat. As a reality check I tried to put the old diverter back in--no problem. I checked with Delta customer support and they said the new part just pushes in. So I'm wondering why I can't do something that simple. Only it wasn't that simple. After another hour of trying and failing to get it to fit, I had the idea that a new part could be out of spec for a faucet as old as mine. So I did a little research and found that Delta Part No. RP63136 is according to the manufacturer an "exact replacement" for Part No. RP320. On a hunch I found a new old-stock RP320 and tried it. It went in easily. is a perfect fit, and works flawlessly. Delta makes a very good product, but even the best of us goofs once in a while.

Works great, needs adjustment first
Like other reviews said, there’s some of the plastic that’s raised - if you grind that off, it fits perfectly and works great. It took me less than 2 minutes to grind it off with my Dremel tool. Fixed the problem right away and the faucet and wand work great again.

Works as expected (can't ask for more than that)
We were having a problem with our kitchen faucet. It would knock randomly. The pressure on the sprayer was low. When we used the sprayer, the faucet would hoot and whistle and the sprayer would occasionally cut out if the faucet wasn't turned up high enough. We replace the diverter valve with this one. The faucet has been working great ever since. The noises in the faucet stopped. The pressure on the sprayer is back to what we expect. We can set a low flow rate on the faucet and get a gentle spray from the sprayer. We open the faucet to full and get a high-pressure spray from the sprayer. Basically, our faucet and sprayer work as designed again. That's all we wanted. This worked for us.

May not work in older faucets
After a part from a local hardware store failed to work properly I thought I'd try the official Delta part. The part received was exactly as pictured in Delta packaging. The part being replaced was all brass except for the rubber plunger. Side by side they look to be the same in dimensions, but the new part did not fit into the hole in the faucet body until I carefully filed away a small lip. Once installed, however, the new diverter did not provide any switching action at all: no water came out of the spray head. The plastic prongs provide a very weak return force on the brass plunger, but maybe that was enough to prevent the plunger from actuating and letting water flow into the spray head. Maybe I'll try cutting away the prongs since I can't return this part anyway. The faucet being repaired is about 50 years old.

works great
it's a kitchen sink diverter assembly and it does exactly what is was meant to do; diverts water. There really is nothing more to say besides stating the obvious about it costing too much for what it actually is.

Had to sand it to fit!
Delta makes only one diverter, so if yours seems a little too large and won't fit all the way in, try sanding it the outer edge of the white plastic a wee bit. I had to do that to get it to fit. Seems to work well now that I've done it.

Solid replacement part
Sprayer stopped working on an old delta faucet in our laundry room. I attached a photo of this replacement part installed, if your faucet looks like that after stripping it down then this is the right part. Installation was simple, just had to make sure to scrape out the old rubber bits that fell off the old valve.

Fit perfectly. Nozzle spray head flow fixed.
The nozzle spray heat was working poorly. Low pressure and incomplete switch of flow from the faucet to the sprayer. This is the culprit. New one fit perfectly. Search Delta's web site where you'll find simple diagrams showing what repair parts you need.
