Needed to drill out the original handle's set screw to remove the handle since I need to service the cartridge. This handle is a direct replacement and includes the set screw.

Genuine Delta Part

I was a little hesitant to buy this as a replacement single handle shower valve but glad I did. My Delta setup was back in 2006 so this single handle fit perfect on my application. The big box stores don't sell these older genuine Delta parts for shower handles. They have a generic brand that is "universal" to all applications. Perhaps some of the local specialty plumbing shops have them or could get it but will take some time to get it and perhaps over priced. I will be buying two more (I have four baths with the same setup in my house) in the near future. **TIP** when replacing the handle, put some water repellent gel or whatever you call it so that the locking screw does not rust in place due to water getting in.

Speaks quality

It's branded and the quality shows when compared to the other cheaper and unknown brands. Easy to install (if you don't have calcium deposit). I had to replace the handle due to the calcium deposit which caused me to have to break the handle from the shower catridge when changing the shower catridge.

High Quality Replacement Shower Handle at a Reasonable Price

My Delta shower equipment is 10 years old. I recently adjusted the temperature on the hot water heater. As a result, I needed to readjust the settings on the scald guards. When I attempted to remove the handle on both showers, the set screws were stuck. I believe they calcified in place from the water deposits. I had to use slip joint pliers on the hex wrench to get enough leverage to loosen the set screws. It took significant force. Needless to say, I needed new shower handles that matched what I had before. This shower handle matches what I had before and is a great price for the quality. The manufacturer has changed the design to allow an open gap where the set screw is. I am not entirely convinced this will solve the problem with the set screw from reoccurring. To prevent this from happening again, I removed the new set screw and slathered it with silicone grease. Hopefully I will be able to easily loosen the set screw in the future as needed with minimal effort.

Easy fit and fix

Leaky shower works like new with this handle and a new $50 mixing cartridge. Not the easiest repair when the cartridge is corroded and fused inside the fixture and the handle fused onto the cartridge due to very hard water. But the plumber quoted $500 so 4 hours of work was worth it to me. Make sure you try and confirm that the old handle will come off without damaging the cartridge before ordering this if you're not willing to potentially make a bigger repair.

Perfect replacement for Delta Monitor Shower Valve

I stripped the set screw in the old Delta Monitor Shower Valve. I used a screw extractor that worked flawlessly and replaced the old valve with the one I purchased on Amazon. I increased the hot water setting on the valve. This time I applied silicone that I also purchased on Amazon on the set screw to reduce the chances of stripping the set screw if I need to remove the valve.

How to easily remove rusted set screw and handle

This was an exact replacement and the price was great. Prime shopping is always awesome. The shower head was leaking so I decided to replace the cartridge. When I went to remove the handle, the set screw was completely rusted and it was impossible to remove. Other reviewers either sawed or drilled the set screw loose. I just twisted the handle with force until the handle broke off from the cartridge. Took about 5 sec. If you're replacing the cartridge anyways, this may save you some time and aggrevation. It may not be the most elegant way but it worked for me. The new handle I received has a slight design change to keep the set screw from rusting. Not sure if it will make any difference but we will see. I think I will still fill the screw hole with plumbers putty and see how that works out.

Exact Fit

I ordered this to replace an old handle with a seized allen key set screw. It fit perfectly, and saved me the time and expense of upgrading to the new Delta cartridge system.

Just like the original with improvement

The old handle had a spot where the set screw went in. That spot held water and caused the set screw to corrode. The new one allows the water to flow through allowing the set screw to not be immersed in water. Same handle, Better design.

Delta monitor handle

Easy to install, perfect fit. I was hesitant to purchase at first but i had no other option so I go for it, and happy for the result. I change my drippy faucet and Plumber decided to drill the screw because it was stripped off. So I have to buy the whole kit. Unfortunately there is no available handle in the store where I bought, luckily I found one here. What a relieved!
