I think all of these machines have trade-offs: *Battery-operated vacuums will only have so much suction, but they can move around more freely. *The unit cannot go over as many obstacles if it's close to the floor, but the suction will be better. *If the motor is more powerful, it'll probably be noisier. Is this perfect? No way. It does get stuck on my hardwood thresholds, so I use physical barriers to prevent that from happening. It will grab loose fabrics and thin mats, and they will get stuck. Pick them up and shake them off. Use common sense. It does fine on short-piled rugs, but again, it's not going to clean as well as a vacuum that's plugged into a wall outlet. I did have two issues with the unit: the voice mechanism messed up, but I decided that wasn't worth sending in for a repair. The second issue was with a wheel that stopped turning after the 1 yr manufacturer's warranty. I read some of the reviews and it had happened to someone else after the 1 yr warranty had expired. Customer service had replied, stating that they wished the customer had let them know and they would've helped, so I contacted them and that's exactly what they did. I sent it in and they repaired it at no charge. Bottom line: I have lots of pets, so I need all the help I can get keeping fur off of my hardwood floors. It does everything I really hoped it would, all things considered. Would it go down stairs left on its own? Probably. Block access to the stairs. Will it get every bit of dust everywhere? Not in my house, but it does clean under beds and some pieces of furniture better than I can. Will it find its way back to the charger when the battery runs low? I doubt it, but I just put it near the charger and hit the "Home" button when I'm finished using it. What's the big deal? I have to manually plug in my phone to charge it several times per day. Griping about a product that cleans my floors for me not returning to its charger without help is what I call a problem of privilege. If that's the biggest problem I face, my life is fantastic. If this makes it 3 years I think it will have been well worth the cost. 1.5 years down.

Two different units within six months is not worth the trouble
I bought this unit about seven months ago and have been using it in my 500 square-foot apartment. I bought it because the price was perfect and the reviews were very good. Initially I loved it because it would clean the room very good which is mostly tile on a daily basis. After a few months of using the unit I had to return it because it would randomly start cleaning at odd hours and nothing is more frustrating than having the robot turn on at 1 or 2 o'clock in the morning when you were trying to sleep. I reset it and followed all the instructions from the manufacture and could not get the unit to run during the scheduled cleaning time. I sent the unit back and immediately was given a brand-new unit. I will say their returns and refurbishment program is a very good system. After a few months of owning the replacement it started to have multiple issues. It would no longer go in a straight line and there are times where it was trying to make a turn but instead of the front bumper activating and resetting the machine it would just sit there and spin the wheels and do nothing except kill the battery. I cleaned the bottom of the unit to ensure there wasn't something stuck in one of the wheels and there wasn't. After a few weeks the wheel started to squeak very bad and I can only assume that the squeaking, turning issues, and not going in a straight line were all connected somehow. It got to the point to where making a turn was extremely slow and I knew something was either binding inside or the wheel was no longer driving at the correct speed. I again sent the unit back for repair and when it got back in only took a day for the wheel to start squeaking and for me to notice that it was no longer going in a straight line. Going to the straight-line doesn't seem like a big deal but when the unit is designed to do a track pattern cleaning not going in a straight line can be very frustrating and leave spots of the floor uncleaned. My initial assessment of this product was very high and I was very pleased to have it, but after 6 to 8 months of owning it and going through two units and still having issues it is not worth owning. Maybe I am just had a batch of bad units but I feel spending a little bit more money for the Roomba would probably yield better results and more happiness. When the last batch of issues started to happen I wrote to the company and demanded a refund and instead of a refund they told me to send the unit in and it would be repaired. I was very frustrated when the company decided that a repair would be better than a refund. I feel like the company's game is to replace the unit a few times until the one-year warranty is over and then the consumer is stuck with a piece of junk. I will be looking online on purchasing a different unit. If you buy this product beware you may get a great machine or you may get a pile of junk that is very frustrating working out the kinks and getting your moneys worth.

Sometimes a little dumb, but works great
Had it for 3-4 weeks now. It does what it says. Sometimes it's a little dumb and it'll get stuck in an endless loop and just stop. It's a 2018, it needs a bit of supervision sometimes. The mopping function isn't worth much, but the vaccuming one works great. The filter is easy to clean. The device is easy to operate. It's a bit noisy (say, just a bit too much to let it run when you nap, but not too much to let it go around while you're on the phone). And the price is fair. Would buy again knowing what I know. I live on a single level apartment, so no idea how well it works with stairs (ie. detecting the gap and not falling).

Useful little robot that is sure to be a great help keeping my home clean!
I received the Rollibot BL618 yesterday and put it to the test right away because I knew that if it didn't live up to my expectations, I would immediately return it. I do plan on updating this review should anything come up but I feel good enough about the product to give it 4 stars right now. I let it do its thing in the evening. It's really fun to watch it go around. It didn't ever get stuck, it's pretty good at navigating out of tight spots. It cleans places that I'm too lazy to reach (under my office couch for instance!) and it's gentle enough that it doesn't knock anything over. It even manages to find its way under my pet parrot's cage. It picks up a whole lot. I plan on running it almost every day to pick up pet hair (we have two dogs) and dust. It's great to finally have a clean floor every day! I just didn't have the time to vacuum every other day but I couldn't keep up with the pet hair anymore. So I purchase this little robot. It's a great value. The mopping and UV options are totally useless. I plan on purchasing a separate mopping robot for cleaning my hardwood floors but if you're buying it because of that, you should think twice. It's literally just a mopping pad that you attach to the bottom. There's no way to keep the pad wet and there's no interior water tank to soak the pad with cleaning solution. It's just a gimmick. The UV option is just as much of a gimmick. PROS: - Easy to use - Pretty good at navigating and won't fall off stairs! - Picks up quite a bit of dirt, dust, and pet hair - Easy to empty dust bin CONS - The dust bin is small - It's a bit noisy, but it doesn't bother me. I run it while I work or do other chores - It really sucks at finding its home base again. - It sometimes goes over spots a few times and seems to forget that it already went there - The mopping and UV sterilization are totally useless. - The user manual is terrible

Gran aspiradora, por un bajo costo.
Después de una semana de uso: Pros: Muy buena aspiradora a muy buen precio, programable, parlante, moderna, con control remoto y pantalla para monitorear sus funciones y manipular su dirección, tiempo de carga en 2 hrs y media, silenciosa y con filtros de repuesto. Contras: manual solo en inglés, solo aspira por media hora máximo, le falta más potencia de succión y en las ruedas, ya que se atora en las alfombras gruesas, por lo que es más recomendable para piso o alfombra de uso rudo. El depósito para el polvo es pequeño y se llena con una sola aspirada. Si se llena, ya no aspirada ni un pelo. En general es muy buena opción si no quieres gastar muchos miles más por lo mismo.

Does the job (Update: Recharge Base Tip)
UPDATE: After some Use, here's a tip, see the cornered edges on the charging base? This suggests you should place the base at a corner of the room, the edges flush on 2 walls. DO THAT to increase the chance of the bot finding it. If you place the charging base flat in the middle of a wall, there's a good chance the bot will see it but a VERY good chance the bot will get stuck spinning in circles at some point driving to the base. Looks like the base is beaming infrared in a +-45 degree cone, meaning there is a dead zone to the left and right of the base, and that causes the bot to spin on itself if it's right on the edge of the dead zone, which is basically mostly every time drive home to recharge. If you put the charging base in the corner, the dead zone would be in the walls and the bot will find it almost every time... REVIEW: The thing does it's job, the modes seem to be doing what they claim to be but you will find the Edge Cleaning a little confusing. I turn it on and it does it's job in it default start mode, let it run for 20 minutes then I do a final pass on mode 3 if required I have not seen any crumbs left on the floor. aside sometimes stuff hugging the walls requiring mode 3. Mode 3, the edge cleaning is a bit of a hit and miss. it seems to always want to circle the room clockwise, and hugs its left so you better place it at a starting location that makes the most sense for that. I have the BL618 with a cleaning mop. it's too bad the robot does not have a No Vacuum option. I'm sure the mop is for better sweeping but I spray some swiffer cleaning fluid on the floor and is does the trick. If the vacuum is on it will suck in some of the cleaning fluid. if there was a no vacuum option, that would be best. The solution to this is to hide the base and hit the home button where it will randomly go about the room to find its base. unfortunately that limits the pattern to random cleaning. The other problem is the unit will not work, or even go to it's base to recharge (or give any indication it is charging) if the dust bin is not installed... It's not a huge deal, but I would like to clean the dust bin and let it dry while the robot is charging... But all in all I like it

Only lasted me 9 months with many glitches. Poor response from Vendor
Product did'nt last long. At first the Product worked GREAT! it did die on me within 9 months VENDOR: Initially, I purchased a black robot, came white. when I reached out to the vendor to let them know, I didnt recieve a response. I felt the product worked well at the time so I did not fuss about it. PRODUCT: This product lasted me about 9 months. i have hardwood floors and tile throughout my house. I had many sporadic glitches with the product, but I managed to fix them myself. setting the timer is convenient, once you figure out how to do it. The brushes it comes with are not the greatest, they wrap around it's wheel and poor weak quality. Dog hair gets wrapped around the wheels as well so you have to make sure it's always clean. The dust pan size is good, just make sure you clean it out. it always has issues finding its docking station, but eventually gets there. Sometimes the product randomly stops and you dont know why. The frequency it stops gradually increases over time. Currently, it sits at the docking station starts rolls back to start, then rolls back into its station and "starts charging". If you are not looking for something to last long but do a good job while you save up for a better product, this is an average clean. If you want something long term save your money for a higher end product. I only used the mop with it once and it drys up very quick. Hope this helps!
