Great but no variable trigger

Product is good but it’s all or nothing power which is unfortunate for getting started and tight quarters cutting I would just pay for the variable trigger option. Also battery would be nice I regret the corded life!

missing variety of blades all were the same square cut blades

Borrowed a friends sonicrafter and it was a great experience to use making cuts that seemed impossible. Saw this one available and expected a variety of blades and instead got all the same blades and nothing made to cut tile in a curved way so disappointed I was unable to use this for the purpose it was purchased...check to make sure you get an assortment of blades so you'll have one for a number of projects.

How did I live without this tool?! *4 stars to 5 update

I love this tool. Easy to change blades. Doesn't overheat. Easy to hold and control, I have arthritic hands and wrists, but no problems. Long cord. Also came with a handy and functional bag and accessory box. You know how most of the time a bag/case included is just barely big enough for the tool and no accessories?! Yep, this one is generous enough to add a few hand tools for your project too! Ok, so I'm happy with the tool. My only complaint is to get the extended 3 year warranty, you have to registered the product. No problem, however the website address is invalid and is giving me a 404 error. I even waited a week or so and tried again. No luck, so I guess I'm mailing it in and hoping for the best. ???? **Updated to 5 stars! Called Rockwell at the toll free number and they registered the warranty over the phone. She acknowledged they were doing some updates to their website and the warranty registration was not available online. Really professional agent! Very impressed.

Great easy to use tool for the money

This tool is great, especially for the $79 price. I have never owned or used an oscillating tool before and, I don’t do a lot of projects. I needed to cut down a PVC catch basin drain riser for a yard project and also make some more drainage slits in it. This tool was easy to use and made the job quick and easy. Changing the blade is completely tool free and also easy. This model appears to be Rockwell’s entry level oscillating tool but is very capable for many household maintenance tasks.

This is a great tool and a great deal

This is a great tool and a great deal. I was in one of the big ticket building supply stores the other day and saw this saw for $80. Because of all the features and the fact that I have owned several similar saws in the past, I almost bought it on the spot. Then I decided to go to Amazon and see if I could get a better deal. Bingo. There it was the exact same saw for 24 dollars cheaper. The saw is great. I tried it out the very next day and it surpassed my expectations. The Hyper lock Tool-Less Blade Change is a real time saver. No more hunting for the right size allen key to change the blade. I love the fact that all other manufacturer's blades fit it. I am a handyman by trade and still have a lot of blades left over from other similar tools that no longer work. They all fit!

Seems like a nice plug in tool

Seems like a nice plug in tool. Only used once to do a job that I normally would use a wood chisel to do, cutting off a blind end piece. The tool is well balanced and easy to use. But I wouldn’t consider this an essential power wood working tool, but nice to have. The tool seems sturdy, but my limited use is no assurance of long term durability. I purchased a couple of extra Rockwell metal cutting blades as I think this tool will work out well cutting nails in rebuilding projects. I’ll update the review if I use this on other DIY projects.

A "must have" addition to anyones tool set

My son used mine all the time and loved it. Problem was, when he had it, I didn't, so needing to get gifts for Christmas, guess what...He got his own and we bought one for our son-in-law as well. Both were extremely happy with our son-in-law being even more so as he was able to use this for a lot of tasks he needed to do in his home remodel. Cutting into walls to install new outlets, remove tiles and trimming door trim at floor level to install new Pergo flooring and it looks perfect. At my sons, we used it to cut back the bottom of the vinyl siding corners on his house. Perfect cut, straight without burning or vibrating loose anything. This is one of those tools that is inexpensive and does the jobs that very few others can neatly. Highly recommended.

2019 Version is Green, Doesn't Come With Plastic Box for Blades

Great tool for plunge cuts. You can cut things with this that you just can't get to or cut with any other saw. I have used it to cut tree roots, siding, 2x4s, flooring, trim, nails, etc. I mostly use 1 1/4 inch Bosch carbide blades. I bought one of these years ago to plunge cut oak flooring during some remodeling. Just bought my second one to use at my mom's house. The 2019 version has green trim, does not come with the plastic storage box shown in the picture (has a cardboard box instead), and has a 3 year warranty. Otherwise it appears to be the same tool.

You get what you pay for

Loses power randomly. Oh and a tip for using the hyper lock for those who are having trouble with the blade coming loose... You can tighten beyond where the lever will line up with the tool. Tighten to where desired then lift the lever perpendicular to the tool. The lever spins freely now so you can lock it down against the tool with the blade good and tight.
