Leather looks rough, but applying leather conditioner makes them look sleek.
I ordered 12W (I have wide feet) and they are wider than most wide sizes, tongue is water proff, so it wraps arroud at the top of the shoe, making a loop; that makes it a little bulky and tighter at the top of your foot, you loose laces a bit, but now top of the shoe opens up wider and makes them look not that great. Leather is kind of rough (both to the touch and appearance) and that is ok, that was what I was looking for, but these, look as if they are dirty (kind of dusty); so I applyed leather conditioner (low oil concentration) and now they look much better, no dusty appearance, but color darkens a little. I like rockports in general, this one is giving me a hard time.

Tight across the top of the foot
I ordered 11W. The width was probably fine but there wasn't enough material going over the top of the foot (below the start of the laces). I maybe could have stretched them out enough in time, but I just returned them while I still could. Materials were the usual good quality from Rockport.

Perfect fit, just slight manufacturing error
Perfect fit, like how it feels and weights, however, under the shoe tongue there is a sewing that affects my upper feet.

Rockports were great in 1979 and just as good in 2023
When I 1st started bartending in 1979 I bought Rockports to work in and they were Soooooo comfy, I wore several pairs of them for nearly 17 yrs in that profession. Now 40 yrs later and recently retired from working altogether with plans to do a lot of pleasurable walking I decided to see if Rockports still fit me and were as comfy as I remembered and they were! I highly recommend these shoes! Still Sooooo comfy and stylish, waterproof too!

Comfortable and Well Made
A comfortable well-made and probably durable shoe. I don't know why the brown is described as tan. It's dark brown.

Pricey but VERY COMFORTABLE....
This is my first pair of shoes from Amazon and Rockport. I typically wear 9.5 Wide but ordered 10W to be safe. I work in office settings most days and need comfortable shoes. I'm also on heavy side so support and comfort are a must. Wore these around the house to break them in but after an hour, I took them off. There was no need to break them in - they were extremely comfortable. Only four stars in review as they were on pricey side, but I guess you actually get what you pay for.....QUALITY and COMFORT! Definitely not the last pair of Rockport shoes I buy ????

Excellent rain and snow shoes
This is my 3rd purchase of these. They are the best casual shoe for walking in rain I've found. I've never had wet feet when walking through deep puddles. The toe design of these is slightly different but otherwise seem the same quality as previous pairs. I've never had any quality issues in the past. These shoes provide EXCELLENT TRACTION in any weather, even on ice. This is because of the soft rubber soles; the same reason winter tires provide good traction. Just as winter tires wear much faster than summer tires, these soles wear away much faster than regular soles, especially when walking on hard surfaces. Therefore I don't use these as my everyday shoes. I wear them only when I want the waterproofing and extra traction they provide. This is fairly often in a Pacific Northwest winter because I really to work. This gets me 2 or 3 seasons of use before the sole has worn too much. I bought 2 pairs on sale this time so hope to get at least 5 years of use from them.

Take time to break in
Overall a good show. Takes time to break in and they fit snug at first. The weather proof tongue needs to sit right when putting the shoes in or it will dig into your foot
