Good concept but not durable

I bought this for my car use to keep the console tidy but it stopped working within days. Maybe it’s not meant for the car.?

Love it - but...

I love this thing, it has great data speeds, charges the phone well, really no difference from the OEM iPhone cable performance wise. The only thing about it is the retraction. You have to pull on both ends of the cable and completely extend it and fiddle with various pulling motions until it retracts quickly! I've often had that thing go flying when it retracts. My cat loves it though! At this point the best way I've found to (safely) retract it is to lay it in my lap during the "retraction" process. Would really like to see a button in the center of the device that controls the extraction / retraction - kinda like a clutch. Outside of it's interesting and amusing quirk it is a very good product.

Doesn’t retract easily.

I love having the option less cord on the table when charging my iPhone!! Works great for having less cord getting wrapped around everything on the table!! I use a “Cube” on my table & that itself was a great investment!!

great concept - but….

I was thrilled when I found this and was so hopeful that it was be the solution to having cords everywhere in the car to connect my devices. And the design is perfect. However after about a week it seems the cord is consistently unreliable particularly when trying to connect flr charging. sometimes it works and otherwise it does not.

Bought two and both did not last and broke - Very poor quality

I bought two of these. Both had the exact same issue. As you can see in the pic, the sheathing breaks and the cable starts shorting out and stops working. I use this in the car and usually plug it in and leave the phone in the armrest. I'm only touching it to plug it in and unplug it. I would not buy this and unfortunately I have to throw both out and will look for a better quality since this only seems to last about 1-2 months and then breaks. It's a decent design, but extremely poor quality and would not recommend.

I've owned every type of retractable USB-Lightning cable you can buy, from no-name-brand to brand, from cheap to expensive.... This is the BEST. The build quality is excellent - better than anything you'll ever find elsewhere. The cable is slightly longer (3.2') than most of the 2.0-2.5' brands and the connectors are solid, not loose. The retracting mechanism is clearly superior to cheaper units and the cable is thick, with the connector at 90 degrees to the flat cable, making this easier to use. I've tried the Micro USB + Lightning versions of these types of cables and they're always lacklustre, sadly. I have both the Lightning version of this cable as well as the Micro USB and both are fantastic. Do yourself a favor and spend a few bucks more, then keep this product and never worry or bother with any other cables again. I use this for charging and syncing with both my iPhone and iPad Pro and because they are certified, everything works perfectly (no weird popups telling you 'this accessory won't work' - this is the real deal). It handles quick charging via 2.1A charger. I've sold, given away, or tossed all of my other lighting cables, *even* the original Apple lightning cables. I've used it in 3 different countries with different chargers and adapters and it is flawless. This cable is the best option in the long run and there *doesn't exist* any other brands or knockoffs that have the same form factor, mechanism, and quality. I regret not just buying a bunch of these and saving myself the hassle of dealing with all the issues of cheaper cables found on amazon, groupon, ebay, etc ~ Hope this helps!

Lasted 4mo w occasional use

Connected for data transfer and charging fine but expected it to last longer. Strong spring to retract but wore out in the first two months and I ended up having to wind it in by hand. After four months of infrequent, gentle use as a back up charging cable, the sheath near the end started to crack, now exposing wires and the cable won’t charge either iPhone or iPad. The lightning end connector pins only just started to rub thin but not through or off - which was the first expected wear spot. I expected this to last much longer given the limited and non-aggressive use.

It properly worked for 3 weeks and now stopped working

Not sure if it was defective. I will give them another chance to see. If it happens again, I will return the 2nd one as well. It worked perfectly fine for the past 3 weeks.

Only Works for Older Iphones

I thought it was defective. I bought two. It turns out that it works for older iPhones like 6s and the original SE. But does not work on my iPhone X or newer. I'm not sure why. But the charging seems to work for about 1 minute shows the charging icon. But then turns off and it seems to drain my phone battery faster.
