They have lowered the quality. Beware!

My family has used these Double Doodie bags for years. The basic design of them is wonderful. The durability and leakproof-ness "WAS" wonderful. Around late spring / early summer 2021 these became hard to obtain and the price went up. (OK, welcome to the Covid era supply chain). Finally I was able to order a couple boxes of Double Doodie Plus bags from Amazon. Upon unfolding / deploying a bag, it strikes me the INNER BLACK BAG is NOTICEABLY THINNER than what I am used to. I still install the bag and hope for the best. A family member later has need to do their business into this newer Double Doodie bag I installed. I check later and find that the inner black bag has leaked urine into the outer silver colored bag. I immediately go and get another Glad (brand) style Tall Kitchen bag as a safety backstop and seal up the silver bag and nest it into the Glad kitchen bag and tie that off. I shouldn't have to do this. This was a "near mess" accident that would have been horrible had the silver outer bag not held. Fortunately - so far - it seems that the manufacturer has not cut corners on the outer silver bag, although I found that I did struggle a bit with the seam seal. DOUBLE DOODIE folks: If you were wondering if we would notice the drop in quality yeah, WE NOTICED! Maybe Double Doodie was forced to cut corners due to supply chain issues. I don't know. But they should work on restoring this product to it's former glory. For now, I will have to be vigilant or find ways to "back up the back up" to ensure there are no accidental poo/urine breaches with the product I have. By the way, for those who need it, this is an indispensible product. WE ARE COUNTING ON YOU DOUBLE DOODIE - FIX THIS!!! Thanks

Very highy convenient!

I have been using double doodie bags for about 4 years everytime we go camping. I don’t know how it took 9 years of camping once or twice a year to discover these bags. Usually we would go to campsites where it would have a bathroom (with no plumbing) I love camping! But always hated the bathroom situation. Then, about 4 years ago, we decided to go to a primitive campground, that had no toilets whatsoever. I decided to start looking for solutions, I looked into perhaps getting one of those toilets that they take on boats, but did not want to deal with emptying dirty water/waste. These bags have been highly convenient, we have a tent with shower/toilet area. The bags are easy to use, I suggest using a home depot bucket and a clip on toilet seat lid. As to how long you can use them...... well everybody will have a different opinion or comfort level. Personally we use 1 bag per day for me and the wife sometimes 2, liquids fill the bag quickly, I like the fact that at least some of the liquids turn to crystal with the additive that comes inside the bag. As a tip, I usually take a contractor’s garbage bag, and start discarding used doodie bags there. There is always going to be some odors, but these bags really help contain them. One thing I will try next time, is going to be taking some litter, and adding a little everytime the bag is used. I have also decided to keep a bag in my truck for an emergency, as due to Covid, most places will not let you use their bathrooms.

Did the quality go down? They've been leaking.

I've used these for several years. I tried one other brand but they were flimsy and these seemed excellent though very expensive. Once or twice before they leaked, but I thought maybe I'd moved the bag and it got snagged on a rough board. But now, being super careful on a good quality deck and not moving the bag at all, I've had two bad leaks in a week — two out of three bags. (I also use a gel powder every time I use it.) It is hard to understand as the bags seem so heavy-duty, both the outer bag and the inner liner. So why am I cleaning up stinky sewage from my deck and being embarrassed by smells when guests come by, as I never used to?

Literal camping life saver!

We camp, a lot. Unfortunately the bathrooms where we camp have cobwebs and a few daddy long legs, and my daughters are big scaredy cats. I just can’t bring myself to knock down the spiders and the webs in the bathrooms, I mean come on, we are visiting THEIR house, not the other way around. So compromise, during the day I insist they brave the scary restrooms but for night time we have this awesome Porta potty bucket and these genius bags that I set up behind our tent. Anything that goes in turns to a solid jelly like substance, there’s fairly little odor whatsoever, and the inner bag fits back in to the sturdy outer bag after use and zips up nice and tidy for disposal. Seriously one of our best camping purchases! This particular brand seems to be the most economical and we were not disappointed with the quality. Win, win! *** I noticed a few questions asking if they are single use. We have found they can be used several times for liquid waste, but if solid waste is put in it’s best to dispose as soon as possible. I have four daughters, they all use it maybe once or twice during the night so I will usually throw it away in the morning which would mean it’s been used about 5-8 times. Any more usage than that and the waste is more liquid than solid and a little difficult to dispose of. Hope that tidbit helps.

Works great!

We purchased the (Larger bags) for the first time during our annual camping trip (July.2020). I was a bit skeptical about this product at first but wanted to buy it as we were unsure about the washroom conditions/cleanliness & of course the lineups at the campsite. My son really needed to go and these bags sure held up well. When done with his business - we rolled up the (black portion) of the bag and easily tucked it into the zip lock bag with no issues at all. It was easy to use & messy free. I would highly recommend this product.

I still love them - much better than the alternative

There is virtually no odor. The liquid does not gel as claimed and the bags are difficult to close. Having said that, I still love them - much better than the alternative. Each bag is easier to close than the previous one - practice makes perfect.
