Same exact item as in higher priced nautical store!!!!

I was in Newport RI downtown shopping and seen this in a nautical boutique for $59.95! I checked out Amazon, while in still in the store looking at the bookends and matched these up and sure enough!!! This is the SAME EXACT ONE! I was super excited to find it for almost half the price! I'm soo glad I did not go ahead and purchase it in the store! Great quality and looks great! They are heavy pieces so you can pack a good amount of books in between. I like the way the tail flips up to hold the books in place as well. You will not be disappointed! ps Loved them soo much I searched out the white whale ones on here and purchased them as well for another room in the house! Take care!

Came in broken

Loved the little whale but it is a little disheartening to see a product come in broken and the box was half opened. Had to crazy glue the pieces back together and solve the problem that arrived to my doorstep. Love the product but not in the state it arrived.

Cute little bookend

Moby (as we have affectionately named him) is a great bookend--so cute and so functional. My only concern is that he doesn't weigh quite enough to support my ten books with just one weight, the bookend definitely requires both sides be utilized at all times in order to avoid a book spilling incident. Even the act of simply taking a book out of the line can create enough momentum for the stack to send either side of the bookend flying off the surface. BUT he is, as I mentioned previously, so cute. The bookend is about four inches tall, if it weighed a pound or two more it would be perfect. However, it really is cute and nice looking enough that I am willing to overlook the fact that I have to give a little support when pulling a book out of the line. If it was a little heavier, would rate 5/5.

Well made and adorable!

These whale book ends work great! It's heavy enough to keep all books in line but also light enough to not bring down the floating shelf it's on. Overall it's a great look.

Very sturdy

Very heavy, I was worried they would be light weight and unable to hold books up, however these are nicely weighted. The finish is a beautiful worn driftwood look.

Love it so much!

I absolutely love Moby the whale! It surprised me right out of the packaging, as it’s a lot bigger than I originally thought. It’s quite heavy and looks striking on my white bookshelf. My kids love it too! I would purchase again in a heartbeat!

The other set was fine and is very cute

I ordered two sets of these bookends. When they arrived in totally inadequate packaging, one set was completely smashed. The other set was fine and is very cute, exactly what I wanted. I took pictures of the broken set and contacted customer service to say they were broken and could I just get a credit for them since I had proof that they were unusable. To my dismay I was told I would need to return them. What a pain that was trying to pack them back up in a flimsy box which was now too big and had not enough packing material. Very disappointing customer service.

Stylin'!

Nice bookends. They add that certain whaliness that my shelves were previously lacking. Functionally, they're heavy enough that they don't slide around when you remove a book. While they're made of resin, the finish is quite nice and they don't look cheap. I like 'em.

Excellent price Beautiful item

It’s beautiful! My daughter seen this at a gift shop when we were on holidays. It was $150. It’s her birthday gift and I know she will love it. It’s quite heavy plaster material but is painted very well to look like it’s weathered wood. Delivery was less than a week and very well packed.
