Good, but

I was excited about the “hide away” feature. BUT, I don’t recommend it for certain mattresses. I bought this bed rail for my toddler when we transition her to her “big girl bed”. We have a toddler mattress on her bed that is only 5 inches tall. The hide away feature on this bed rail makes the arms that go under the mattress almost 2 inches tall. The arms are very bulky and make her small mattress bulge. I’m sure it would work fine under a traditional mattress that was 10” thick or more. Don’t recommend it with a toddler mattress.

Great!

Had a trouble putting it together but once I got it down, this is a life saver. I have a rolling 1 year old that often comes into my bed at night. He moves a lot! Can’t put him back in the crib. And him falling off the bed = kept me sleepless! This was a great find. Safe sleep to keep those toddlers in.

Not for deep mattresses

My mistake thinking it would fit our mattress. The product left about 3 inches above the mattress as a barrier. All our mattresses are deep pocketed. We had to rig with old cribs to get the deepness we needed and zip tied the rails to the bed. Needless to say, we didn’t need these for our purpose, but may be better for when a child goes into a toddler bed.

Wow

First off let me just say we need better instructions ,or a video that shows how to put it together more clearly. The basic I could do alone however putting the little side things on that go under the mattress that took me and someone else to figure out. Further to install it took 3 people. If you have 0 help do not buy this. Luckily I had help however it took 3 people to install this. Love it once it's on the bed though absolutely love it.

Works fine, but cheaply made

First, two issues that aren't strongly affecting my rating but are worth noting: The first time I ordered, the order was cancelled, stating that my package had been lost and they were out of stock. They did issue a refund, so I'm not sure what else the company could have done, although when I went back to order a new one, I was able to do so without a wait, so either they weren't out of stock or the listing wasn't updated when it should have been. When I received my second order, though, it was actually the wrong bed rail. Funnily enough, though, it was a style I hadn't seen online, and I actually preferred it to what I had ordered, although it was a cheaper item. I asked if I could get a refund on the price difference and keep the incorrect item, and although it took a couple of tries to get the representative to understand what I was asking, they gave the refund without a problem. As I said, those issues were handled pretty well and aren't the main reason for the meh rating. The quality just isn't there in this bed rail (do note that I have a different product, but I would imagine the whole line is similar in quality). I've had it for about 7 months and in that time I've reinstalled it a couple of times, lowered it a couple of times, and it's occasionally had weight put on it from above (but not from rolling onto it in the bed - I don't think it's ever actually been needed for its intended purpose, lol) - I don't think that's much to ask of an item that's specifically intended to get pushed against and jostled around. But already part of the fabric is unravelling and one of the clasps for the bed straps is broken (so it's hard to keep the straps tight). I had hoped to be able to use this for years and multiple kids, but I'm not sure it's going to last all the way through even one.

So far so good

My grandson fell out the bed while napping so I bout this item to prevent my grandson from falling out the bed. He moves around while sleeping. He has not fallen out since the install.

perfect for babies/toddlers/infants especially for co sleeping

We have been using this guard bed rail for about 5 years now. We purchased this after my now 5 year old son had rolled off our bed that was pretty high 2 times too many and got a big old goose egg (knot/bruise) on his head from rolling off the bed. Hey- it happens and we live and we learn. After the second time we said no more and purchased the bed rail and have kept it ever since. You need to make sure there is no gap in between your bed and the rail when installing- so a child does not get stuck in between the guard rail and the bed. The positive: The assembly is pretty easy and we have one for our king bed that is 54" long and a short one for my toddler's bed so she doesn't fall off the ground when sleeping. The one on our bed is for when one of our four children ranging from 7 months to 9 years old have came and slept in our bed when they are sick and want to sleep with us, or for when I breastfed all my babies and would fall asleep feeding them in the middle of the night. It keeps them safe from rolling off the bed. From baby to a young child, they will roll up against it when sleeping and be just fine. The negative: The reason it gets 3 stars instead of 5 is because washing and putting back on the cover is super complicated and stressful after washing it. I have gone through about 5 of these and the reason is because the sheet needs to be replaced for the product to be completely effective (the net gets worn down, stained, and rips causing holes). We have had to purchase this product so many times to replace it. You can't purchase just the cover/net by itself! If we could do that, it would be so much easier and a lot less waste and expensive! Instead, I have to buy the same product completely with all the parts in order to replace the net/cover. This has been a life saver, I still love having it next to me and so does my cat, I'm going to keep it on my bed even when I don't have children or babies in our bed for nap/bed time because it makes me feel safe!

Easy to set up - for divan beds only

We bought this bed guard and assembled it then discovered it does not fit a slatted bed so please don't make the same mistake. I don't think this information is clear so think that is the main downside of this product. I can't comment on it's effectiveness when in use of course but we did set it up and it was very quick and simple with easy to follow instructions so can definitely recommend on that front, far simpler to set up than the one we had to replace it with.

Not worth buying, really. I promise, you will regret it.

I ignored all of the bad reviews because I liked what it said it would do. Hide under the mattress, nice. Except people are right, doesn't matter mattress types, it sags between the left and right side and you have to lift the mattress to push the rail in. The WORST part of the locking mechanisms people are talking about. Absolutely horrible on one side and the other side works ok. I tried everything to make it work, I wanted it to. It just doesn't. This honestly needs a redesign to add a support where the gate slide under the mattress and it needs a reliable locking mechanism. My wife and I considered keeping it and just leaving it up (took 10 minutes to barely get it unlocked today). And we realized for 61 dollars with tax we can get a much nicer non hiding gate. On top of this, the left and right rails when clamped down right still move left and right sometimes, hard to keep them parallel. And those rails are huge, the picture conveniently hide how much of a bump they make in a coil or a memory foam/gel mattress. I'm taking the time to write this for the person who takes the time to read it, this is not the gate you want because the ad isn't actually what you get. It was such a nice idea I ignored it all just to learn the hard way. I didn't come on here to review, I came on to buy another rail instead and I got so upset and being ripped off I had to write and save someone else. My wife wanted to take pictures and videos to show people and I just wanted it out and over with and didn't want to spend more effort on this garbage product already. I have a regalo baby gate that I really like, which is why I gave this a chance upon seeing it. This needs either a redesign or a discontinue.

No es para cualquier colchón y cualquier base

No son muy fáciles de instalar (yo instalé 2 o sigo intentándolo). Supongo que instalar 1 sería más fácil porque con dos está difícil ya que se estorban uno a otro a la hora de ajustar. Necesitas un colchón pesado, de lo contrario se levanta. Y deberían especificar que se necesita un BOX SPRING, yo tengo base de tablas de madera (no están corridas) y no se pudo instalar!! Tendré que mandar a hacer una tabla de madera a ver si así lo logro. El producto es realmente bueno peeero no es para cualquier colchón y cualquier base. En mi caso ha sido todo un lío

Very Secure On Slat Bed (Just Ugly)

I’m not sure why everyone keeps saying it won’t work on a slatted bed, as it worked extremely easily and well on our queen slat! Assembled pretty easily, and I pushed quite hard on it without a budge. We’re using it to bed share and I feel very secure with it so far. The only downside is it looks super medicinal/old folks home looking, and the hide away feature is more trouble than its worth.

Buen artículo, tener a consideración el tamaño/grueso del colchón pues si es de los que incluye una "colchoneta" entonces la altura de éste artículo no te servirá. Instalación en menos de 15 minutos (muy fácil y claro el intructivo) primero en una cama con colchón + colchoneta en donde el barandal sobresalía unos 10cm y después en otra cama que no tenía la colchoneta y ésa fue la diferencia para que cumpla su cometido. Satisfecho :)
