Just what we needed
We moved into my mothers split level home last weekend, and while our existing plastic Evenflo play yard was long enough to handle the shape of her living room (which we promptly took over), it was clunky and crooked and wobbly. I actually love that play yard/gate and We’ve had it for months and months, and fully intend to keep it, but my mother wanted something a little less visible and I wanted something sturdier and easier to maneuver over. We had been finding ourselves hurdling over the gate 9,000 times a day, and my moms got a bad hip so ... time to look for something else. I found this gate pretty quickly and it had such good reviews and was such a decent price that I threw it on the cart and had it two days later. I installed it myself in about 20 minutes, between adjusting and screwing and rearranging and whatnot. I’m 16 weeks pregnant w another and I found this gate to be easy to set up despite its possible long length. The way our couches align w a wall allowed me to sort of tension-support One side of the gate and avoid drilling more holes into my mothers walls. The other side of the gate is screwed in but only one screw for each bracket. It’s kind of wedges between a fireplace and my husbands giant keyboard so again, extra holes were avoided. This thing is sturdy and not going anywhere, at least with how we have it set up. We have it extended about 9 feet and there is still two more extensions available to unfold. This thing is huge lol. The bite is nice but I think a wrought iron color or black would be helpful options for this item. There are others out there that do come in those colors but are much more expensive. This one should come in a darker color. I guess it’s always possible to spray paint it? The doorway is not centered to the gate, so it is important to know that if you plan on not using all the extensions. Somehow I was able, through several trials, to get the doorway fairly centered in the opening we blocked off. The doorway is small and a little funky to open and close constantly all day but we’ve gotten used to it and my mom is much happier getting in and out of the living room without having to lift legs and straddle the gate. I have devised a learning technique for the opening of the gate, left hand, right hand to open; right hand, left hand to close. Lol. My son has tried to tinker w the doorway mechanism but has not gotten very far with it. He’s 10 months old for reference. He is not one to hang all over Gates he knows are sturdy so once he realized this gat was going nowhere he has very little interest in it. He is beginning to be a little climber so it’s nice that there’s nothing to put toes in and climb up, as was the case with my plastic Evenflo gate. Be sure to loosen the knobs on all the extensions in order to extend it out. If you didn’t make them loose enough you’ll hear Loud clicking noise coming from that extension and it isn’t a good sound to hear. It comes w screws attached to the one of the extensions so make sure those are there. I took the brackets off the pole to screw them in, pretty much impossible otherwise. Overall, extremely happy with this purchase. We’re here for a year or so, and I fully expect this to last. Update approx. 7 months later: we still have the gate in use. My son is now 18 months old. I have come to hate this gate actually. But I say that only as a parent who is tired of hearing this effing thing clink and clank all day long, step over it all day long, readjust it to be the right shape again, etc. we moved it from closing in a play area of the living room to blocking off two stairways. My son now has free reign to run about the main level, and just blocked off from stairs. He still manages to undo the gate door if you don’t latch it entirely. He also very quickly learned the sound this annoying metal makes if you so much as brush past it so anytime someone does something w the gate (ie: try to sneak upstairs quickly, carry baby sister up while she’s sleeping) he hears it and runs over and is hella triggered by that sound. 1,000% this should have just been made of vinyl or plastic. It did not need to be cheap metal like this. We have also experienced enough rearranging of this gate to advise that if you take it apart to resize it, like take bars out or remove sections... you will never get it to be that way again. A lot of the little pieces that hold the joints together are specific to the section they’re attaching to. They may LOOK like they can be interchanged w other sections and that may be true for some, but if you try to treat this like a watch band,,,removing links,,,, think again. Get ready to hear the thin bars taking every 4 seconds, clanging on the floor, like an alan key you can never keep in your hand. For the first way we had this we folded up the excess sections and held that all in place with a heavy couch butter up against it. The other side was screwed in w The bracket. Eventually we mozied it over to the stairs and folding it wouldn’t work, we needed it drilled on both sides. Mistake. My fiancé lost 10 years of his life with this thing. We got it. But it was a lot. It will not be usable after this, pieces are everywhere in the garage and nothing fits together right anymore. So just keep that in mind. Other wise it has generally stood up to a very active little boy. He knows not to go past it, and he is over the stage of yanking it and hanging all over it. I can’t believe it never ripped out of the wall. We trip over it every day at least once. The little door becomes extremely annoying to open and close so many times so we step over it for some variety and someone always at some point trips over it and you hear the familiar clanging around. I hate this thing snd can’t wait to not need it. I am moving and the house is small and one floor. THANK GOD. It’s a good value for sure it just starts to get to you after a while lol

This Gate Set May Well Save My Father's Dog's Life.....
My 88 yr old father just moved in with me ... and with Dad came his 50lb dog. Now, I live in an apartment and I have 2 cats and I a granddaughter. This dog has, shall we say, minimal training and she's been known to nip when she feels threatened. So I kinda have my hands full with this dog. Sadly my father and step mom adopted this dog and she would have been a project for a seasoned dog trainer.... they were definitely in over their heads with her as they are NOT dog trainers. She has always been wary of strangers and nips at their legs/etc if they turn their back on her.... bad enough with a grown adult, but if she does this with my Granddaughter or her friends, we're going to have trouble. She has almost no exposure to kids so that alone is a pretty big challenge. On top of that she's got a chase urge and hasn't been around cats in about 8 years. One of my cats is a real "scaredy cat" who hides if you look at him sideways just to complicate matters. I have a lot of work ahead of me. When I knew I was going to have to take her on along with my father, I started researching gate options. I need something that will hold her in (thankfully she doesn't test these things though!), while allowing my father to get through with minimal struggle. His mobility is pretty compromised (he uses a Rollator) and he's a fall risk so he has to be able to get through easily. I realized I likely needed more than one gate. And I realized that until the dog was here, I really wasn't sure exactly how it would work out. When I saw this gate/yard, I knew it was my answer to my problems. I have tons of options with this so as things (hopefully) change I can alter how we set this up. After trying multiple configurations I ended up with 4 panels at one end of the long living room to lock the dog in both when we go out (she will crap if left in a large enough space) as well as a place to put her if we have company to keep them safe while she's learning her manners. We have 3 more panels at the other end of the room to keep her in with us most of the time while allowing the cats a safe space where they can get to their litter and food. (It's ended up also being great for keeping one of my cats from escaping through my sliding door when I'm Bar-B-Quing!) The only thing I haven't used is the actual gate because my father's Rollator won't go through it, but that's ok - it may come in handy in the future. We will be moving to a house soon, so I love that I can take this with us and adapt it to the new space. Dealing with the issue of this dog has probably caused me more stress than any other part of the move... or at least it's right up there with the more stressful parts, because I'm realistic that if she so much as nips at one of my Granddaughter's friends or even an adult that she could well be impounded and even put down. The burden of this feels bigger than the "burden" of dealing with my ailing father. So I'm really relieved that we have this in place now. It's working great! She's already learning to not chase the braver cat who comes and goes through the gap we left so he could get to the Living Room. She also seems to be ok with staying in the smaller space when we go out. I honestly couldn't have chosen a better option for my needs. This thing is quite sturdy yet light for such a big set. There are seriously sooo many ways you can configure this thing depending on your needs. And the price, for a gate with 8 panels, is amazing. I was getting quite discouraged when I started researching for a gate because I really didn't know exactly how I would set things up and I didn't want to have to buy 4 different gates (or more) to figure out what would work. So if you have any kind of situation where you need to separate groups of animals easily and quickly, this is your gate. If you have an awkward shaped space to cordon off, this is your gate. If you are traveling and need to have a movable pen, this is your gate. If you have someone who can't get through the standard gate that most of these things have, this is your gate. I'm going to upload photos in the next day or so to show how we have this set up for our current situation. Although I'm a reviewer here I purchased this item at full retail price as a PERSONAL purchase and am reviewing this because I want to. I have not been asked to write a review and I have no personal connection with the seller. As usual my opinions and experiences are a real and true reflection of my experience with the product. I hope my review helps you in your purchase decisions!

Finally a supremely functional pet enclosure!
This is the second enclosure for my Miniature Poodle. I first bought one when my girl was a puppy she got in my hand. Unfortunately Shunococo was a “Escape Artist.” The enclosure didn’t allow for many setups. Now my girl is eight years old. She is still an Escape Artist at times. This enclosure has various setups I can do. The purpose for this enclosure is to allow Shunococo more space outside. It prohibits my neighbors dog (Zoe) from having access to my dog and my porch. The neighbors dog (Zoe) is a Jack Russell and is still in puppy stage. She is wanting to play all the time. She likes to come over to play with Shunococo but my girl just wants to chill. We love her and we play with her. However, Zoe sheds a lot. When her parents leave for the day she’s at my house. She likes to lay on my beautiful rug which is on the porch. It wouldn’t be a problem if she didn’t shed so much hair. Plus she’s a outside dog. Fleas and ticks. Shunococo is a inside pampered spoiled dog. (Not my fault.) I’m able to move the enclosure anywhere. It measures 51.5 inches to 194 inches and can be adjusted to any area. I can shorten it by removing connected parts. It’s simple and easy. Plus it looks very good. A great buy!

Dog garage gate
This is awesome! Bought it to put across my two car garage door so I can have my front and back garage doors open at the same time and my dog can’t get out. It fits perfectly with a bungee on one side. Got the idea from another review here to put caster wheels on it to easily roll it open and closed. Accordions up nicely in the corner. My dog is not a jumper or climber, so I don’t have to worry about that but it isn’t very tall so if your dog jumps or climbs this wouldn’t be work well for this purpose. I like that there’s a walk through gate on it to easily walk in and out of the garage.

Stay away beware of the child getting legs stuck between the bars
Beware of this gate my daughter is 14 months and she gets her leg stuck and she keeps getting her leg through and I can't stop her and now she has many bruses on the sides of her knee caps, they made the bars to far away from each other and it could break her leg or knee if she falls while her leg is stuck, so hard to get her leg out and she screams in pain, horrible product and I purchased 2 of these and now I'm stuck with it and have to figure out how to block her from getting her legs through, like cardboard across all the gates with zip ties is my only option, I wish I knew this before I purchased them I would have spent more money and bought gates that don't have bars like this, very disappointed and upset, hope this review helps other parents buy a different style gate that won't hurt your child, and not buy this one

Quick set up. Discovered scuff marks/scratches on finish.
Set up was a breeze. We were able to set it up in a square shape (2x2). Probably not ideal to do that as each side is now a little flimsy. However, it seems our baby will not be able break the gates apart. If you're using the gate on hardwood or laminate, the gate may scratch your floor because it is easy to move to and fro. Since we have carpet, there is a little more friction and nothing to scratch. Additionally, we also have the option to set it up as a rectangle (2x1) by removing two panels or in the shape of a hexagon (6 panels) or octagon (all 8 panels). When the baby gets older, we also have the option of wall mounting the gate to section of the room so our baby will have more room to roam. The gate is relatively easy to open. It should be harder for the baby to reach and to navigate as you may need two hands depending on how long your fingers are. The wife and I also noticed scuff marks on the gate. We're not sure if the gate collided with something rusted or if it is rusted under the white paint. As we don't plan on using the gate outside, it should be okay. EDIT (9/25/2017): Two months later, we decided to secure the baby gate into the wall to give our daughter more room to roam. She's only begun cruising, but she likes to fiddle with the locking mechanism. So far, it's holding up. Just make sure you remember to lock it properly as she's smart enough to figure out how to open the door if the lock isn't set. She also likes to shake the gate. It appears to be holding well. With the gate secured into the wall, it doesn't appear she will be able to rip the gate away from the wall.

Awesome gate
The media could not be loaded. This gate is the best. I was hesitant to buy it because we have 3 older kids and I figured it would be ripped off the wall in no time or at least made loose. Nobody has been hip checked into gate but, the kids climb over it and the baby shakes it will all his might. (Video attached - he gets a couple inches of wiggle but, it’s really good considering the span). We took out two sections, had to put a little crook in the span to make it fit and attached it to the floor in 3 places for extra strength (otherwise the top wiggle also shows up as floor slide). The gate is strong and easy to open/close. It does have a bar along the floor where you enter and exit the gate so, it’s a slight tripping hazard but, necessary for the design. We’ve had it for several months and only the 5 year old tripped once. (I wouldn’t put it at the top of stairs - if your stair opening is that big - actually, I would if I had to). Once the baby is too big to be confined to the living room, we’ll put it around the wood stove. Super versatile. We could even use the extra 2 pieces that we removed from the gate for the deck or something else (although they would need to be stepped over and attachment would need to be jerry-rigged). Overall 5 stars for sure. Yes, I see that the baby needs a diaper change:)

Will keep baby safe while playing
Happy with this enclosure. Easy to put together and will keep my baby safe. Overall, a great buy at a decent price. **I may purchase the extension set to fully cover my skiphop mat (also from Amazon). EDIT: This gate has broke already where the plastic holds the metal pieces together. Hoping Regalo stays true to their 90 day warrenty policy.

Sturdy gate works for us
We have been using this gate for a month, and it works great. The locking mechanism is easy to use, and the part that screws into the wall is very sturdy. We installed some protector pads (the push-pin type) on the bottom to keep it from scratching the wood floors; it took 2 minutes and works perfectly. You can also only remove 2 panels at a time, so that made the gate slightly too short, or way too long. To solve this problem, we opted to install it in a zig-zag pattern, which gives it more structural integrity; our toddler can only move it back and forth a few inches. The knobs at the intersection of each panel make it easy to lock the gate into the shape you desire. I would buy this again.
