Works as intended
It works well, easy to apply with a brush or gloved hand. It dries lighter in color which blends decently with existing ducting. It seemed to improved the air flow in my hvac system quite a bit. I’m going to go over the system again because I now can see and feel where I missed as the air flow is so much more noticeable from leaks. It’s not a fun task but I appreciate the comfort having a tighter hvac system gives me. I have a older home from the 1960’s and my hvac is about 15 years old. Amazon packed this sideways for unknown reasons and the product leaked inside the box. It wasn’t bad but I would by this from a hardware store next time.

Just enough to finish the job...
I had just enough in 1 gallon to finish appx 20' of wrap with an adequate application over end and side seams. Applied with a chip brush over mesh tape. works just fine.

Easy to work with
Product is easy to work with and no odor. My only complaint is drying time, especially when thick. It needs to dry before turning HVAC system on.

An outstanding professional-grade duct sealant
This duct sealant is easy to work with--just the right balance of being easy to apply with a chip brush but not too fluid that it runs and drips everywhere. It has minimal odor, minimal shrinkage, dries to a very neutral medium gray color, cleans up readily with soap and water, and stays flexible once dry. IMO is superior to the stuff sold at the box stores. Advise to order separately due to potential spilling of the product in transit.

Good stuff! Lots of fiber but still able to spread it with a cheap chip brush
Sealed HVAC ductwork in house from 1940s. Lots of fiber but still able to spread it with a cheap chip brush. Didn't crack with drying.

Sealed air ducts well
Sealed gaps in flex and metal ducts as advertised.

Sealed ducts in the crawlspace
Purchased this to seal some ducts in the crawlspace. Had no issues and it seems to be doing its job. Still have plenty left over, but still cheaper than many options from local stores.

Easy to use, and a great product that does the job!
I purchased this mastic in order to seal all of the joints in my heating and return ducts that were accessible in my basement ceiling. It was exceptionally easy to apply…much like spreading toothpaste with a paint brush. It goes a long way! The mastic did not have an odor, and it dried very quickly after application. This job took me a few days to complete, and I used a new brush each day. I also put a layer of plastic wrap on top of the mastic before closing the lid with a rubber mallet each day, and this kept the mastic from drying out. Because the majority of the duct work in my basement is up in the ceiling between the joists, and close to the plywood of the flooring above, I adapted some cheap 2-inch paint brushes so that I could actually brush the mastic on top of the joints. I bought cheap paint brushes that have wooden handles, and I trimmed the bristles quite short. Then, I cut off about half the length of the wooden handles with a hacksaw, which made little “stubbie” brushes. These shorter brushes allowed me to apply the mastic at the top of the duct work, and they made the application easier and more affordable. I do recommend that you wash the joints of the duct work before applying the mastic so that the mastic adheres well. I actually washed all of the outer surfaces of my duct work before starting this job, and I was stunned at the 38-years of dirt and dust that I was able to wash off. I also wore disposable vinyl gloves when applying the mastic, as doing this job was quite messy. It was, however, easy for me to rub the dried mastic off of my skin with hot, soapy water. After the whole job was finished, my husband and I definitely noticed an improvement in the heat flow in our home. No more cold spots upstairs in the bedrooms, and no more hot spots in the basement due to leaky ducts. I hope we also notice a change when the air-conditioning is turned on this summer!

I am still observing how good this product is.

Good so far
I didn't use fiberglass mesh but shouldn't be an issue to do so. Goes on easily. Dries quickly. This stuff is not ruined if frozen. May be overkill but painted inside and out on a short run. Airtight!

Good price/value for money.
Easy to apply. Used it on my duct work in the bedroom above the garage. If you have an unfinished basement this product will seal your duct work nicely.

Great for sealing duct work.
This product was referred to me by a person who teaches tin mechanic courses. I will never go back to foil tape as this is much more effective!
