Descale it at least annually with vinegar if you have hard water
It installed fine (as someone who is mechanically handy), although it would have been much nicer if the hot line was another six inches longer. It would be nice if the thermostat went a bit higher, but coffee and tea are fine, and it’s very nice to brew them instantly. This is an upgrade from our old counter top dispenser since we don’t need to refill it. After about a year of use the unit started boiling over and over again, maybe twice an hour. Because the design is an open outflow the plumbing is simplified, but that means every time it boils the tap sputters hot water and steam (onto the counter if you haven’t been careful to leave it pointed over the sink). That got annoying very quickly. Fortunately I was able to resolve the problem by descaling the unit. I feed it hard water that only goes through a simple filter (no RO), so it’s not surprising that scale would build up inside. However, there’s no tank drain or provided instructions for the procedure. I shut off the water to the filter and power to the heater, and removed both cartridges from my filter unit. Instead of replacing them I filled each of the two housings with white vinegar and reassembled the filter (turn off the ice maker first!), and turned the water back on. Then I ran hot water from the tap into the sink until I smelled the vinegar. I left it sitting in the tank for an hour or three and then flushed everything and reinstalled new filters. There were a few more excessive reboil events right afterwards, but now it’s been a couple weeks and I can say it’s back to normal. Descaling definitely did the trick, though of course your plumbing might not make it as simple.

Worked great for 5 years, then it died.
First of all, my entire family LOVED this product while it worked. First of all, we replaced our existing filtered water line dispenser with this instant hot/cold dispenser. It was great that we retained the cold filtered water, but had the option for instant hot water. Couple of quirks with this unit: * For the first 3-4 months, the hot water had a plastic taste. But this went away with time, and it eventually dispensed perfect tasting hot water. * There was a delay in dispensing hot water. You turn on the hot water, and then wait... sometime 5-8 seconds before water comes out. Not sure if this was a water pressure thing due to it being hooked up to the filtered water line. I bought this in July 2018. In Jan 2023, we noticed it would not turn on, and some random leaking of hot water from the dispenser. We then noticed water leaking from underneath the sink, and determined that the unit was leaking water and had broken. I imagine that the heating cycles eventually compromised the tank inside the unit. While I was happy with this unit while it worked, I think I am going to try another model or brand for the replacement.

Low wattage
This is a game changer for our little off grid cabin with only solar power and sometimes a generator, we are happy to not need to fill a hotpot anymore to wash hands or brush teeth! Only 700 watts and only when it is heating. Sweet. Works great with filtered well water. The faucet has a funky unnecessary set up but not a deal breaker. Thank you.

Great buy with a double faucet !
I haven’t hooked up the filtered water to the unit yet. It was a great buy imho. One drawback is the short 5/16” hose that the hot water flows through from the tank to the faucet. It is so short I could only put the tank under the faucet. I wanted to place it to the back of the kitchen sink cabinet on the left side. Unfortunately it now sits in front of the sink disposal unit. Forget trying to buy a longer length of that silicone hose at Home Depot, Lowe’s, True Value. All they carried that small was vinyl and isn’t capable of carrying boiling water and under pressure. I will report back when I get it running. I am concerned that the instructions say the unit requires a minimum of 35psi of water pressure. I doubt my Reverse Osmosis unit can make that much pressure out of its storage tank.

Never knew I needed this till we got one
This was my wife's call. She wanted the instant hot water. I was of the opinion that you could just boil water if needed. She was right. My advice, get a charcoal filter (a big one) and attach it to the line. You will be amazed at how often you will use the cold water side in comparison to the hot. I fill up my glass from the fridge and then use this faucet to fill with water all the time. The wife uses the hot water side for tea and coffee as well as sterilization of mason jars. Took one star off for the jacked up installation instructions. They should just put labels on the holes (cold water in, cold water out, hot water out).

Looks great, but hot water tastes like plastic
This would be five stars if I could use hot water for drinking, as intended. After two months, there is still an overpowering plastic flavor that makes green tea undrinkable. Even coffee tastes stale or off. If you've ever drank water out of a garden hose that was sitting out in the hot sun as a kid, it's about like that. I've replaced all 1/4" lines with FEP tubing just in case, and the contact time with the silicone hose is so short upon dispensing, I doubt that's the cause. The only thing I can think of is that the tank itself (on the lower power) model is plastic. I really only use it to save a little time boiling water for noodles. I don't even use it for instant soups. Thankfully the cold water works well and tastes great with a filter. The faucet blends in perfectly with my existing brushed nickel faucet and was relatively easy to install. Keep in mind not to cut the plastic ties for the base otherwise you'll need two people to position it.

Works great
The 1/4" line that comes with the unit is a little crappy, so just spent $6 on a piece of hose and a couple connectors and it works great!
