Will not fit on 2019 columbia gas shut off valve
Great idea. Columbia Gas install a new shut off valve in 2019. it is 1/2". The ends of the shut off valve are rounded and this wrench will not slide over the end. You could file the wrench to make the opening a little bigger. I decided to keep using my Crescent wrench instead. Hope the pictures help to show how the shut off valve is not a perfect rectangle.

Good in an emergency
This worked for my meter here for Atmos Gas. I hung it on the valve and wrapped a wire around to hold it on to pipe. This way was not worried about trying to break a zip tie to use it. I would suggest working the valve up and down a bit to practice or use bigger wrench to loosen it. It could be a little longer to give more leverage for those stuck valves. If it was a little longer and thicker I would give it 5 stars. Time will tell if it rusts out there.

i wanted one in case of earthquake or smell gas..cant beat the price..its nice tool ...glad to have it..always wanted one..surprised the gas company doesn't give one free......this even comes with a hang it up long twist tie .....i think its aluminum ..painted a nice black...recommend item & seller

should keep near shut off valve
This tool should be in every home and should be stored in a easy to se place near the shut off valves. the zip tie they give you to secure it, is basically useless, no instructions on how to use it and I can not secure it directly to the pipe.I am not a fan of having to cut it off the pipe when i need it, that would require a second tool. why would I want to sue a tool to get to the mail tool? even if it costs more money, they should develop a small plastic high visibility cradle or holster than can be attached to a wall by either predrilled holes or adhesive baking. it can be very thin and the tool can just pop out of it or be lifted out.

Sharp edges had to be filed down a bit
Overall not a bad little tool, but I had to file down some pretty sharp edges to avoid someone getting cut when using it.

You need this if You use Natural Gas!
This tool is to turn off your Natural Gas service if there is an emergency like a fire, earthquake, or a gas line in your house is leaking. It works on most residential gas shut off valves at the gas meter/pressure regulator. If you are unsure it will fit go find your gas meter and measure the turn off valves stub. I think this is articulated in the description. The cable tie is to hang this tool near an outside door so you can grab it quickly and then turn off the gas supply or hang it at the meter itself if you are sure no one will fool with it or steal it.
