Nice size ink pad

One reviewer noted that the pads came "uninked". I would modify that a bit to say that they may have had a modicum of ink applied to test the pad, but when I received it, there was insufficient ink on the pad to print a 4 by 4 inch stamp I had, which was almost all black. A second possibility is that the pad I ordered was sitting on someone's shelf for a year or more, and the Ink had dried. Both cases are explained by the fact that there was ink on the pad, but not enough to ink a large stamp. That is why, I believe, a small container of ink is sent along with the pad. I recommend you order ink as well, especially if you have a lot to do. Aside from that, I suspected the dimensions may have been a bit off, as it barely covered my 4 by 4 inch stamp. But, I measured the stamp, and it was a bit larger than 4 by 4 inches. This pad will cover 4 by 4 inches, but don't expect it to do a good job on anything larger.

Affordable, large, superior quality ink pad

If you have a printing job to do that requires archival ink and it's not practical or in your means to enlist the services of a professional printer, this affordable stamp pad may be your solution. Until recently, I have used a double ink pad, the type you ink on both sides, then rub the two sides together to spread the ink evenly. This gives you a high-quality print from your rubber stamps or lettering set, with clean edges. The down side is the ink dries quickly on the pad and you have to re-ink or re-hydrate the pad frequently to get consistent results. You can go through alot of ink and solvent this way. I work in a herbarium which is essentially a library of plants. The plant specimens are filed in folders that have their names and a numerical cross-reference printed on the outside. I use a rubber stamp lettering set to print genus names and numbers on the folders. I tried this ink pad to compare the quality of print between the two and was surprised. With the ink from this pad, I get almost the same sharp, clean edges as with the ink from the double pad. I have printed nearly a thousand folders with this now and have only had to re-ink the pad once. At first, I kept closing the pad top each time I printed a folder thinking that it would dry out, but after leaving it open for several hours one day, found that it was still wet and inked just as well. The ink is high quality. It dries quickly and doesn't leave a residue that smears later. Also, you won't run into having to ink two ends of your stamp because the pad is too small. I have saved many hours using this while getting the same quality printing as before.

This ink is great!

This will last for about 3 years or so. My mother loves how the ink doesn’t smudge.

Needs more ink, but is a good product

Ink pad was either really dry by the time I bought it, or it doesn't initially come with a lot of ink. Wish I didn't need to by a second pad or re-inker. Shouldve just gotten the $12.83 one that came with both initially, rather than the $11.56 that was just the pad. That aside, the stamp works great on kraft mailers and cardboard, and did provide that nice, vintage look I was wanting.

Not dried out, works well on photos

I bought this to mark the back of fine art photos with a custom stamp. I wanted archival ink that wouldn't damage fine paper and would adhere well. This has worked beautifully on a range of papers, drying pretty much instantly and not smearing at all. Other reviews complained of receiving dry pads but mine arrived in perfect wet condition. Highly recommended!

Great Ink Pad

Wow, seriously bigger than I thought. I was picturing a 4" x 6" photo size. Haven't measured the pad inside but the case is more like a 5" x 7" card. Not grumbling at all as it's awesome and perfect. I'm very pleased with it especially for my larger stamps - makes it so much easier to ink the whole stamp at once. Love this ink pad.

Careful

Be careful opening the packaging... mine leaked all over me. Permanent ink doesn't come out of clothes.

Great quality on cardboard and textiles.

Brilliant pad for transfer my logo onto my cardboard packaging. The pad is quite stiff so doesn't allow too much ink to overspill from it or allow the stamp to sink to far in.
