Great rug but...
I purchased this small "rag" rug to go along with a larger rug of the same color and style for our bathroom. (Not purchased on amazon) It is of great quality, looks nice and fits perfectly in front of the toilet. The only issue I have with it is the odor! When I unpacked it (it was tightly wrapped in clear plastic), it smelled like celery! Very strong, like I was cooking celery on my stove. I took it to the laundromat and washed it completely, using downey as well in the rinse. I brought it home to hang in the laundry room to dry. It still smelled the entire house up. Anyone who came in the house wanted to know what I was cooking, and my laundry room is upstairs on the bedroom floor level of our home! I took it a second time to the laundromat, same routine. It was a little bit better so I decided to just go ahead and use it when it was dry. It still has a mild smell to it but I'm hoping when it needs to be laundered again, it will dissipate even more. If you can tolerate the smell, it is a nice item. Or maybe this is a onetime thing and won't happen to anyone else.

O.M.G. IT SMELLS SO BAD. I FIXED IT!!!!!
Read it all ...... Light Blue rug popped up on a steal of a deal so I bought it ($75 for a $300 rug YESSS please!) Previously had purchased a smaller pink one and I love it! This blue one smells SOO BAD. I've hung it up to air it out. I took it to a laundrymat to use a professional washing machine with tons of downy scent beads. I'm currently trying a vinegar spray ..... bottom line is that if a deal seems to good to be true .... it is!!! No point to having a beautiful rug if it smells SO BAD that you can't keep it in your house! UPDATE: How to get rid of that awful smell!! VINEGAR. LOTS OF VINEGAR. MORE VINEGAR THAN YOU'VE EVER HAD IN YOUR HOUSE BEFORE. I went threw a 1 gallon bottle for a 5x 8 rug. Spray it on full strength (on the back) and let it dry. Twice. No joke. Yes it smells as it drys. Yes you'll question your life choices. The vinegar smells goes away once dried. And guess what?! That awfull smell does too!! There is still a tiny hit of whatever that smell is BUT I'm very sensitive to smells. I'd currently use it in a room now and it would be fine. BUT its not going in just any room .... its going in a teenagers room!! Which obviously means it needs to be roll around on ready ..... lay on and listen to spotify ready ..... SOOOOOO. I'm heading out to try a big laundrymat washer to do a hot vinegar wash to see if it fully gets rid of every last bit of the stench .... One star .... to three star ..... if this works it'll be a five star ..... only because .... 1. I love this rug 2. Even with all my effort de-stanking it .... it was worth it for the cheap deal I got! 3. Teenager approved rug. If anyone has teenagers they'll understand what I mean. They're picky monsters sometimes. 4. I feel like I can conquer the world just like I conquered the smell. Mission accomplished!!!

Smell won’t come out
Unfortunately, I quite literally cannot get this awful smell out. I’ve washed it, no joke,13 times now. I’ve tried every single thing. Nothing gets it out. It also has smelled up my washer now a bit. And the towels I washed with it had to be thrown away. I’m so sad though as it’s just darling. So soft. I want to keep it. If anyone has a suggestion on how to get the smell out, let me know. I’ll try it and keep it.

Cushy and washable. Perfect for a child's room.
I first got the larger size 5x8 for my daughter's room about 5 years ago. It is so cushy and comfortable to sit down or lie down on. I've washed it in a large commercial washer at the laundromat a few times, which is so convenient to be able to do. We love it so much that I bought another smaller sized one. The smaller sized one (2.8 x 4.8) fits in my home washer so the first thing I did was wash it in the permanent press cycle when I received it. It washes well.

A tiny bit more yellowish than I expected (kind of like vanilla cake batter colour that's yellowish because of egg yolk), but I think I can draw out some of the colour by hanging it in the sun. We'll see lol. Love the quality otherwise though-- it's soft under the feet and well-made. However, I was VERY alarmed and upset that it was packaged rather carelessly. Usually rugs are shipped in multiple layers of sturdy plastic. This was wrapped in ONE layer, and there were actually a couple holes in the plastic which I assume occurred during handling, and those small spots of my rug were indeed dirty. Luckily it was just a few small areas, but that could have potentially been a f****** disaster. Not cool. Package your things right, please. Especially light coloured things!!!

Cute, but color wasn’t what I was expecting
I was expecting a different green. This one is a little more like lime green, I wanted grass green :) but it’s going to be adorable in another room.

Love it
Colour is beautiful and as shown in the picture. Quality is great; it's well-made and very soft. Ignoring the "Children's rug" description, this baby is all mine (me, an adult woman), one of the three shaggy raggy rugs I purchased to make it look like there's a huge Neapolitan ice cream on my floor yesssss. The pink one does really come with a weird nose-burning chemical smell, so I can see why some people would advise not putting it in your kids' rooms just yet, but I'll be fine. I smoke so I'm poisoning myself anyway ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ . I assume the smell will go away eventually. Will update when (if?) it does.

Stinky but worth it.
Yeah, it really smells. Washed as suggested with vinegar. 2x. Now ok.
