Size Up for 5E
If you have wide feet and high insteps, buy 1 size (not half) bigger for 5E. Propet is no longer Propet which used to be. 5E is not 5E any longer. The posted picture shows the black one I bought more than 20 years ago which is 8.5 5E and the brown one I bought recently which is 9.5 5E. As you can see, the old 8.5 5E is wider than the new 9.5 5E, even though the black one has been stretched out over the years. I have also bought Traverse as well as Veymont hiking shoes. It was a big mistake to buy them only a half size up, 9 5E. They did not stretch much. I still love these Cliff Walker hiking shoes. I wear them during the winter, the rainy season in Cali. FYI I repaired my 20+-year-old pair with Shoe Goo.

3x width does not exist
Amazon has the wrong size info. 3X width is not made by this company in this boot. If you check the Propet website, the only wide widths are a generic "wide", 3E (or X wide) and 5E (or XX wide). These are tight on me, but the closest boots I have found to actually fitting me since I wear 6E width. I bought the 11 1/2 3X width according to Amazon, but definitely not 3X width. Hopefully wearing them for a while will stretch them a bit. Bought to have waterproof boots for a trip to London and Paris in the rainy season, don't want to have soggy feet all day wearing my skechers. Seem comfortable except at the widest part of my foot.

Truly one of a kind boot, and I do mean one of kind! The largest Propet 13/5E boot ever made!
Propet is fine shoe company that typically makes a very high quality product, even though many of their products like this one are made in China. However, my experience with this particular boot leads me to believe that their quality control is not so good, which is why I'm only giving this product 4 stars, primarily for inconsistent fit. To be specific, I am a large, diabetic man with a very wide and swollen foot making it nearly impossible for me to buy shoes from a regular shoe store, whether brick and mortar or online. Only shoes from specialty medical shoe companies such as Dr. Comfort, Orthofeet, or Apis, known for their extremely wide (up to 14E) and double to triple depth shoes for diabetic and problem feet like mine usually fit me. As you might guess, these specialty shoes typically cost $120-$180 per pair as a rule. These Propet boots only come in 5E width max, but based on reviews of how comfy and big they were, I took a chance and ordered them. I was shocked that they actually fit my very fat and wide foot and are fairly comfortable. I liked them so much, I ordered another pair in black to have as backup, as well as a few other Propet shoes in the same size, 13/5E. When these other shoes arrived, not one of the other pairs, regardless of style, came close to fitting, leading me to believe that this brown boot was clearly cut larger than any other same sized shoe in their line-up, even the same exact boot in a different color! (No, it wasn't mismarked as the length of the brown and black boots were identical, but the brown boot that I'm reveiwing here was easily twice to three times as wide, so it was pattern thing, and this boot would be very, very huge on persons normally wearing a size 13/5E shoe. I hope this isn't confusing, but the fact it fits me is total fluke and I will probably never find this error again. So I'll just enjoy this boot till it wears out as it's much less expensive than my usual medical footwear.

First good fit in my life
My foot is generally a 15 extra wide. Normally I end up getting a size 16 cause it is hard to find something in 15 that fit right. These we perfect. Not tight or loose. Good ankle support. Didn't know they were for diebetics til later which was a plus. Was getting blisters in old shoes from extra walking. I liked the way they fit so much, got a second pair just in case I have trouble finding another pair in a year or so cause I am tough on my foot wear. Truely happy with this purchase. Just wish the price was a bit cheaper

Fits good but sole is to thin
This shoe fits good but makes your feet sweat and the tread slides on any wet surface. I've almost fell three times because of it.

Propet Cliff Walker Boots solved my sore feet.
After many years of not being able to find good looking boots that fitted my foot, I discovered the Propet range of footwear. I have been wearing New Balance for the last 18 years as they were often the only shoes that were both comfortable and in my size, 15, and having a wide foot between a 2E and 4E, 2E being firm and 4E just a little loose. I brought the Propet Cliff Walker Boot 15 3E in both black and brown. I decided to take the black PropetCliff Walker Boots as my only shoes to Sydney, for the bimonthly Nurse's Union Delegates Meeting. First impression, these boots are light, very light in weight. At first I was not impressed with the speed lace connections, when attempting to tie the laces at first, but now I really like this feature, as I can remove the boots very quickly. The first day included flights to Sydney, walking all around Central Sydney, and then meetings, followed by catching up with other delegates from around NSW. So, after spending 18 hours in these boots, I removed them, and I only had a sore left heal, which I still can not believe, as normally spending more then 8 hours on my feet at work, my whole left foot has pain, I was over the moon, as I normally soak my left foot in cold water for a good hour before going to bed. The heal pain was just enough to be noticeable. I spent the next day walking around Sydney, a few hours at the Sydney Powerhouse Museum, flying home and having a family dinner at my mother's. When I finally got home and removed the Propet Cliff Walker boots, I had no foot pain. These boots are very, very comfortable, and if you have trouble with your feet, I highly recommend you try this boot. I am one of those people who, when they find a comfortable pair of shoes, will buy a few pairs, I plan on buying few more pairs of this boot, thats how good they are!

Very good fit.
It’s very hard for me to find a comfortable shoe of any kind and these fit very well and have good traction. They are not listed as winter boots but I use them and they are doing a good job. The quality is also good and I was lucky to get them on sale. Good product.

Nice boots. Comfortable and warm. Beware the width issue on sizing.
The good news: seem like nice boots. Appear well made and are comfortable (see below for more on that). Comfortable even for all day wear. Kept my feet warm in very cold temps. Soles seem to have good traction on snow. Laces are weirdly long. There are lots of reviews on these that touch on the sizing issue. I ordered what was listed as my size in "5e". I normally take a 3e. Right now I am wearing them with heavy dress socks and they are a perfect, snug fit. Dont think boot socks would work. I should note that I have orthotics (arch supports). So yes, get them but upsize on your width.

so the purchase and exchange process was horrible. However
I was sent the wrong product, so the purchase and exchange process was horrible. However, the boots themselves are great! Very few boots are available in 5E width, which is what I needed. I took a chance on these and am very happy with them. Most importantly, the fit is good. Not only that, but the materials and construction of the boot are top notch. The leather exterior and rubber sole are both attractive and functional. The tongue and ankle areas are nicely padded, providing good comfort. I also like the laces and speed hooks. It's all about fit. If you choose the correct size and width, I think you'll be very happy with the boots.
