Great fan - horrid remote

We’ve hung a lot of fans and this was by far the easiest install. The fan looks great, lights are bright, and it provides a lot of air movement. The remote, however, makes me want to smash it with a hammer. I may actually do that once I find a compatible replacement. It’s the only way to use the fan or lights. No pull strings. Don’t let that keep you from purchasing - just be prepared to hate the remote and get another one.

LOVE the remote control feature of this Rustic Ceiling Fan

This ceiling fan added the perfect touch to the guest room. Although it was super heavy and hard to handle, we were able to install with two people so definitely find someone to help! The dark fan blades add a sharp contrast to the white walls of my house too. Love having a remote control for this!!

A great outdoor fan

This is my 6th Prominence Home brand ceiling fan and they have become my new favorite ceiling fan brand. Like the others before it, it is a very easy install compared to other fans I have installed before, mainly due to the design of the housing mount and the blade installation. Instructions were easy to follow and I installed this on an outdoor porch. The blades have a clasp system that allows you to easily install them over your head without having to hold them in place and then screw in 15 different screws while balancing on a ladder. The remote control is nice because you don't have to try to shove in a large remote mount into the housing and jam it in around the wires. Once installed, the fan works great outdoors. It provides plenty of light and can be dimmed. The five blades push out a lot of airflow, which is important when you're using an outdoor fan and it's not in an enclosed space. I use it in the South in a very humid environment and it has so far survived a brutal summer with no sign of any wear or damage to the ceiling fan. It also looks great on my porch.

Even better than expected!

This is a really nice ceiling fan, and has a super fancy remote. :D I installed this on our back porch which is outdoors but shielded from the elements. Installation was very straightforward-- it took me about 2 hours by myself, but the majority of that time was removing the previous junction box and installing one rated for a ceiling fan. So the actual fan install took less than an hour. I had no issues doing this on my own, even at 5'2"... Just had a good ladder! The fan looks beautiful and moves a huge amount of air. The glass is seeded glass, and it comes with clear bulbs (so you can see the filament). The remote includes your basic features of fan speed and light, but also allows you to dim the lights, turn on an "away from home" feature which periodically turns the fan and light on when you're away to mimic your being at home, or turn on a "natural" type of setting which mimics natural breezes that ebb and flow. Nice! Also, there is a feature that allows you to turn off the fan/ light but it will stay on briefly to give you light as you leave the room.... I don't really use all the features, but it's kind of fun to have them there. So far we have had no issues with the fan holding up to being outside. Lights are bright and consistent-- no flicker even when dimmed. And the blades are not warping in the humidity. I've only had it up about a month but so far it looks and works like a dream. Excellent value!

Nice fan. Flimsy remote controller.

All I have installed in my house are Hunter fans. So I’m thrilled to have a tru on this Prominence Home 52" Idris Craftsman Style Outdoor Ceiling Fan. This is a beautiful fan. We used in our patio. I truly enjoyed the look of the fan and the way it complemented our pool and lanai design. The color looks great and rich. It’s good for modern and country design both. The fan matches my outdoor furnitures. The fan is zero wobble on highest speed with no balancing and all you hear is the wind. It’s so quite and doesn't make a motor noise at all. This unit installs as easily as any other Hunters ceiling fans my husband have put up. It took him 1.5 hours to take off our former fan and install this one. The instruction was very detailed and YouTube videos helped a lot by the way. The only thing made the product flimsy is the remote controller. It just looks like those cheapest electric candle remote controller.

High Quality in both form and function!

This is a great fan for our patio! It has a beautiful deep iron finish, that has the look of a piece made 75 years ago when quality was what mattered, there is truly a depth to the finish when looking at, something I rarely see these days. The rustic cedar finish on the blades is about as realistic as possible without using real cedar. Installation is the same as most other ceiling fans, but it will use only 1 wall switch for both the fan and light control, so keep that in mind if you have separate switches for each. It's lighting is only controlled by the included remote. It runs smoothly and quiet at all speeds, the blades are very rigid and required no balancing at all! Being 52" it produces a great amount of airflow and keeps the patio much cooler than our previous fan that was the same size, but lacked the power this fan has. A great addition to the patio the will help keep the Florida summer heat away!

Great quality; genius blade installation!

The media could not be loaded. This fan went up without issue. The parts feel solid & well constructed. The way the blades are mounted is genius (see pic). I’ll be able to easily take them down to deep clean them or flip them to the other side if I so choose - and won’t have to remove & replace 20 screws to do so. Comes with bulbs for the light & batteries for the remote, so big plus there! The one thing I wish was different is the ability to switch to a clockwise spin in the winter. There isn’t a button for this on the remote, and you’ve got to remove the glass to get to the switch. Aside from that though, it’s silent, provides great (dimmable) light, cools my big game room nicely, and looks fantastic! Very happy with this fan from Prominence!
