It works.

Fairly idiot proof waffle maker
We've had a few different Belgian waffle makers come through our house. This one from Proctor Silex is fairly idiot-proof. There's a bit more plastic then I like to see, but even the models that have more metal coverings are pretty much the same quality underneath. This one does not come with any way to adjust your cook time, but using the lights to tell you when it is finished produces a reliable waffle. If you want it a bit crisper, just wait a bit beyond the light indicator and watch the steam that is escaping from the griddles. The waffles themselves are on the smaller side, both in thickness and in diameter. We use the Krusteez pancake mix (using their waffle directions) and I really was unable to make a bad waffle. On this griddle there is a little rim area that will take up some amount of overfill, a nice feature that keeps most messes from ever escaping down the side of the unit and on to the drip tray. DO NOT oil the griddles; they are sufficiently nonstick that you can pop your waffles right out. Oiling the griddle just makes a gunky mess over the long run. Waffle makers are occasional use items in our house. It helps if they don't take up much storage room. This one is okay in that department, not great, but I've seen worse. The drip tray stores loose. You can rotate the griddle to vertical and that can slim down its footprint. The cord is super short, which is great if you've got a handy outlet. Otherwise its' just annoying cost cutting.

Very easy to use heats up quickly
The media could not be loaded. This is very easy to use. It reminds me of the waffle makers at the hotels. It has a green indicator on both sides, the front side where you pour the batter will turn green after it’s heated up and it’s ready for you to put the batter in. You pour the batter in, you flip it over and it will turn green again on the other side when it’s ready for you to flip it over to open, it’s nonstick so it’s easy to take out and it’s a very simple, waffle maker. It comes with a drip pan in case you do overfill it, and it falls and it’s very easy to clean. I hope my review was helpful to you.

good for the price
I think I may have received a refurbished waffle maker. The inside waffle cooking plates look brand new as if they have been replaced based on the screw damage while the outside materials look used based on the scuffs on the plastic parts. The cord is a bit shorter than I like but that is normal for most waffle makers. The unit is a bit wobbly, somehow the wrong side got left down and it took forever to get the correct side in the handle slot again. It works well but releases an odor as it heats up so if you have sensitive pets I would not use this in the same room. I used it outside. It’s ok for the price but I would probably go non-stick for my next waffle iron for safety reasons.

Easy to use
This is a nice looking waffle maker. It's very compact and sleek. You can easily put it away when not in use. I like that the waffle maker is very simple to use so that you can't burn it. Decent price for fluffy waffles to eat in the morning. No need to worry about ruining breakfast anymore.

Nice waffle maker, heats up fairly quickly and seems to cook pretty evenly, waffles don't stick too badly but I still suggest a little cooking spray before adding your batter. Well packaged also

Easy to use
This waffle maker is easy to set up and use. It has a drip tray that catches any overflow, as you can see in the photo. Turn it on its side for easy storage. It cooks evenly. The green light stays on for a few seconds after you put batter in and flip it but then goes off and back on when done cooking. It does give off steam while cooking. The waffles come out with little effort and no sticking. The waffle iron is made of metal with the exception of the legs it stands on, the base, drip tray and handle which are all plastic. While this helps cut down on the weight, it will be interesting to see how long the plastic hold up. It is easy to clean, even when you overfill. Before your first use they recommend hand washing the grate and rubbing with vegetable oil. Overall this is a good waffle iron for the price.

Proctor Silex is a well known name brand that doesn’t disappoint!
My original waffle maker was a wedding shower gift from 1977 so it was time to switch it up with a new Belgium waffle maker. :-) The one from Proctor Silex is easy to use and produces a decent waffle every time. It reminds me of a smaller version of the hotel chain waffle makers which are completely foolproof. This model uses lights to tell you when it is finished baking the waffle just like those other ones do. My 11 yo granddaughter is excited to make our family waffles at camp this summer using her overnight pancake batter which also makes great waffles. I think it will be a great experience for her with this easy to use waffle maker.
