Awesome wallet with only one flaw.

So this wallet is awesome. I have a ton of EDC wallets and have some of the most expensive ones (Ridge, Trayvax Contour, etc...). What’s weird is this thing costs so little yet just works. Does what it says. Holds 7 cards to the bumper but I have 8 in there to varying degree of thickness with one being huge as it is my community gate card plus a Lever Gear ToolCard Pro as well plus some cash. All fits fine and holds well even though it protrudes past the metal bumper. Bottle opener works flawlessly and is so low profile an inconspicuous that people don’t realize what it is until I pop a cold one. I drink RC Cola out of pop tops constantly as I’m not a beer drinker but have helped out a few folks at parties with this little guy. My only flaws are that it isn’t RFID blocking but that is more of a me thing but the one flaw I do ding it on is the bumper. It needs to be just a tiny bit higher. Like .3mm higher to make sure the seventh card doesn’t protrude as if you have nothing but raised number cards, you need to stagger them or else they will stick out over the edge. The elastic works though and nothing falls out, not even my cash or ToolCard which is awesome but it looks a little messy. Not a deal breaker though as this thing weighs nothing and the solid construction makes it a durable front pocket wallet. A little more elegant way to store cash like the Trayvax Summit has on the rear or just a small raised edge at the rear would make this a little better but as it stands it is my go to wallet for now. I have to use a RFID blocking wallet for my work cards so I technically carry 2 wallets when going to the office but this is my daily driver for everything else and keeps me from having to swap my crap day in and day out. I will say that I do have an RFID blocking card on top and after a check with a scanner I had around my office it works as long as the metal bumper portion is facing your body so that isn’t bad but full RFID blocking would be nice. The. Again that would probably affect the weight and sleek/cool design. One last note is that the bottle opener actually works a small pry bar if you slide your card back past the opener. It’s a little thick for a screwdriver but I have used it to pry open a few PC cases and a wall mount with it. It works and show no signs of damage. All in all this is a great minimalist wallet. It is no fuss and very simple but obviously some thought went into the opener and metal bumper at the bottom as even the Trayvax Summit which was my go to minimalist wallet doesn’t have a full bottom. The elastic may stretch out over time but at the $14 I paid for this guy if it last a year it is well worth the price.

First Minimalist Wallet

This is my first minimalist wallet; so I have no basis for comparison to others. Other than you can spend ALOT more money. I carried way too much in a regular leather wallet. And I sat on it. Everywhere. Everyday. This takes its toll. I knew I needed to try a minimalist wallet, so I simply picked a relatively cheap one from Amazon Warehouse. Enter the Gerber. This is basically a plate (with a bottle opener, duplicative of my keychain but I already recognize the value of carrying a bottle opener now don't I) with an elastic strap. Pretty simple device. It holds about seven (7) cards, although I could probably put another one in there. So, it forced me to reduce what I carry in a wallet; only the bare necessities. Maybe it isn't the wallet itself, it is that it forced me to change behavior? Either way, the minimalist wallet fully loaded is already smaller and thinner than my traditional leather wallet with nothing in it. And I am not sitting on it. Yeah, that is better. So how might this compare to other minimalist wallets? Including those that cost 3x and 4x the price? IDK. But I am thinking I buy another one, simply because I have primary cards I need every day, but a secondary wallet for those cards you only use periodically would be nice?

Compact,works as advertised

Solid,well-built.Has bottle opener(works,been tested!).Elastic band is wide,flexible,and easily holds everything together without being too tight or difficult to stretch to get cards,money out. This lightweight 'wallet' is the exact size of a credit card,and would hold six or seven within its metal body. The only drawback is any cash has to be folded,and of course,you would have to unfold the bills while holding this wallet...kinda clumsy.Tip:fold bills in thirds,they become as wide as a credit card and slide on in. This was what I wanted;lightweight,small footprint in your pocket,and durable(plus a bottle opener).

works really good!

only complaint is it can be a little weird to get the cards out but the bottle opener is so useful and it gets rid of the bulk of a folding wallet it gets lost in your back pocket like it’s not even there i highly recommend this i drive forklifts all day so sitting on a fat wallet sucks and this eliminates that issue but i’ll definitely buy again when this one craps out on me

It's pretty good - not amazing

I have had this flat style of minimalist wallets before. I enjoy them as they take up considerably less space in my pocket. I like the styling of it, can fit my 5 or 6 cards in without issue as well as some cash. The band is good quality and the metal is touch. The design is decent. However, having had wallets from Trayvax before, this is not in the same league (nor is it priced as such) so it really depends on what you are looking for.

Best minimalistic wallet

I got this wallet after doing a fair bit of research and I'm so glad I did. The band securely holds my cards and a bit of folded cash. You can easily remove and put back cards with no trouble at all and the bottle opener works well too. Overall, this is a well made stylish and compact solution I expect will last me for a very long time.

Amazing metal card hilder

Great minimalist wallet - no RFID which for me is a godsend as you can actually use chip and pin without taking your card out of the RFID protected wallet!!!
