Works like a charm

Quickly blew up a queen size mattress. For portable and doesn't take up much room when packing.

It works as described

I was skeptical about this little pump getting the job done. I bought it for pumping up a twin size mattress and a single mattress for camping. As it turned out, it easily pumped up both mattresses (3 minutes total) and deflated them by reversing the pump. Hint: It uses D-cell batteries. I used AA batteries with D expanders and it worked for the needs described above. If this holds up, I have no complaints.

Easy to use, terrible at its job

This little air blower. BLUF don’t waste your money. The model says 4d. That’s because it takes 4-d size batteries. Yea it’s lite until you put a large mag light of batteries in it. Does it work well? No. I inflated 2 queen sized air mattress twice and the batteries died. Ok that’s a lot of air. Well it wouldn’t be that bad if it didn’t take me longer to use this thing than it did with a hand pump. I don’t mind the up and down for the hand pump I just don’t want to do it for 30 mins. Well the nipple for this blower is hard plastic and does not seat with the air mattress well. So you still have to sit with it for 30 mins while this thing takes it’s time. Oh it’s doing the pumping for you, no you have to finish the job either with your mouth or a different pump as this little blower that couldn’t, well it isn’t strong enough to finish the job. Just 75% of it. Guess what there is more. It also has a part to move the nipple to the Side and suck the air back out. Yea doesn’t work like that. The nipple is loose around the actual blower housing so air just sucks and blows out of that as well while you’re trying to inflate/deflate. So 2 stars. Does it move air yes. At any type of capacity that’s needed. No. Too bad I can’t return it.

Expected better quality from Coleman

Very cheaply made! The battery door is hard to put on and get off. Feels like it will break very easily.

Easy to use but more plastic in it's key components than advertised

Air pump works fine for it's purpose but there is more plastic in it's construction than appears in the description of it. I predict it will likely break earlier than anticipated.

Not as good as the version that has a rechargeable SLA battery, but does the job

Portable, works well for a long weekend on a river canoe trip. Inflates/deflated a tall twin mattress 5 times without issues. As batteries start to lose charge the motor has less power, so it takes about twice as long to get the job completed. The SLA rechargeable version did not have these issues and lasted longer

Do not purchase...

This pump is terrible. It wouldn't even fill one air mattress when we went camping and had to manually pump the mattress completely fall because this battery-powered pump didn't do the job... Total waste of money. We ended up buying lithium ion pumps which are amazing and this one just got thrown out which is the appropriate thing to do because it is a piece of garbage. I would give it 0 stars if that was an option. Anyone reading this should not buy the pump.

Didn't work at all, past return window

We bought this in January because the pump we got with our mattress didn't seem to work anymore. We didn't try it before June, where we realised it didn't work at all. Can't return it anymore, so it was a waste of money. I suggest to try it right when you get it, even if you don't need it right away.

WARNING: Defective pump must shipped to Coleman at your own expense!

The first handful times I used this pump it worked fine, but then the motor gradually died. Each time I used it the air pressure was lower, until it was just a whisper of air, and then it died completely. All of this happened within a few weeks. I tested the batteries, which were still near full charge. I tried it with another set of batteries and it didn't work with that set of batteries either. The pump is completely useless. Coleman also doesn't allow you to return the pump to the place you bought it from. You have to mail it to them at your expense to get a refund. As I live in Canada, it would cost me as much to ship it to Coleman as it would be to buy a new pump. So all the money I spent on the pump and 2 sets of 4 batteries is wasted.

Not that great

For the size of the fan it doesn't put out that much power, even with brand new energizer batteries. The positive wire in the battery housing wasn't soldered in and came loose several times during use, and lose wire ends caused a short and melted part of the wire casing. I was able to wrap the frayed wire ends in place to secure it and it worked alright afterward but it nearly burnt itself out on the first day. A Walmart air pump for half the price works just as well if not better
