Not sure this is an authentic Little Giant pump. UPDATE BELOW
I have used several Little Giant Pumps, model 5-MSP, over the last 24 years. Everyone was black in color and ALWAYS had two identifying labels attached to the pump. Each label contained the words "Little Giant Pump Company" along with other specifications. Amperage was always 5 amps. This new pump is blue (the same blue as their larger pumps), but has NO identifying marks or labels of any kind on the actual pump. It is shorter in height by about one inch. There is a label attached to the wire only, with a phone number and website address, but NO words identifying this pump as "Little Giant." No place on the label lists the name of the manufacture, but it does say, "Made in China." Makes me quite suspicious. The bottom screen is the same has it has always been. Old bottom screens will fit onto this new pump. It is advertised "NO OIL" which is good and an Aluminum Body. This part is good. All of the old pumps always leaked oil into our fish ponds when they were wearing out. Their bodies were always made of steel, not aluminum. The old pumps always put out 1200 GPH. This new one is advertised as 1500 GPH, It seems from the water flow to be accurate. New amperage rating is 2 amps, instead of 5 amps. My pet peeve is I may have purchased a counterfeit product. I have no way to confirm or deny this suspicion. Over the years this has occurred from time-to-time when purchasing other types of items at Amazon. Most specifically for me, vitamins for human consumption. IE: I am used to getting counterfeit items at Amazon, as well as others in my field of medicine. Buyer beware. This may be a counterfeit product. however, it does work. I have only used this one day so far. My past Little Giant Pumps would always last about five years. Only time will tell if I made a good purchase. It works, so I am keeping this pump. I do however like this pump because it does NOT contain any oil. When the old pumps wear out they will begin to leak oil. The oil contaminates my fish ponds so I have to change the water and the pump so the fish will live. Whoever made this pump, not containing oil is a good thing. UPDATE NOTES: When I received this pump, I tested it by hooking up to a short hose and emptying one/half of a five gallon bucket, which it did in a few seconds. My first actual use was a few weeks later, emptying out one of five 100 gallon water tanks. The pump work on full power (meaning approx. 1500 gallons per hour as advertised), but only worked at this speed for only about a few seconds. Then, began to pump slower, and slower, and slower, so inside 60 seconds, was pumping at an estimated speed of 5 (five) gallons per hour. I repeated this test several times. Always got the same results. I removed the bottom screen looking for anything blocking the path. Path was clear. I removed the short hose to eliminate all back pressure. Same results. I have used Little Giant 5-MSR pumps for over 25 years. Every pump will last three or more years, using it once per week to remove old water out of our five farm animal water stock tanks. I am very grateful to the Amazon employee who assisted me in returning this pump. Thank You. I went directly to Little Giant and ordered a replacement pump through a Little Giant company Rep. I was told all Little Giant pumps always have labels attached to the pump itself. This pump has NO labels attached to it. However, it has a label on the cord which states: Made in China Little Giant 115 Volts / 2.0 Amps I FIGURED OUT WHAT IS WRONG; 1) This pump is 100% counterfeit, how do I know? 2) Authentic Little Giant 5-MRS pumps use a 115 volt carrier wave, powered by 5 Amps. 3) Counterfeit uses 115 volt carrier wave, but powered by only 2 Amps. 4) Electrical POWER comes from the AMPS. 5) A 5 amp motor compared to a 2 amp motor, can be likened unto: a) A full sized pickup pulling a trailer up a hill, compared to a b) Volkswagen Beatle pulling the same trailer up the same hill. c) While the truck will pull the trailer up to the top of the hill without slowing down, d) The bug will last only a few seconds, then begin to loose power rapidly, slowing rapidly to a tiny crawl in less than a minute.

Bought this pump to replace a very old Little Giant pump. It's sturdy, east to use and really pumps fast. Great purchase.

The pump had a water stain line on it from a previous user. It was not new. I am using it with a watchful eye, almost expecting something to be wrong with it. So far no problem. Grrr.

Great little durable pump.
I purchased one of these little pumps 30+ years ago and it's still in working order. We left it with the first pool and house we sold in Maryland. I purchased a 2nd one for our new pool. It's the best little pump on the market.

Have to find a different pump
Did not have enough pressure to feed 24 emitters, the older black models could do this with less GPh . Kinda worthless for hydroponic feeding.
