I bought this POLYWOOD AD420CR Modern Adirondack Chair, Crimson Red. We have 8 of the Polywood Adirondack Chairs and end tables in their Teak color. We also have Adirondack Chairs and end tables from a few other brands of the recycled plastic too. The Polywood Brand is one of our favorites! They are fairly affordable, very durable, and they are quite strong, as they are rated to support up to a 400 lb. person. They are made from the HDPE (High-density Polyethylene) recycled plastic. The HDPE seems to be longer lasting, more durable, stronger, and less brittle than the less expensive plastic furniture that is made from Polystyrene. We live in a rural mountain location that gets the extremes of weather, from 100+ degree days in Summer down to -10 Degrees and lots of snow in winter, which is all pretty harsh for any kind of outdoor furniture. Even though we always put all of our outdoor furniture away in the garage every winter, we still had to eventually mess with refinishing our real wood Adirondack furniture every few years. My husband totally dislikes working with wood, and I am just sort of lazy, so that is why we finally switched over to this recycled plastic type of outdoor furniture! It is very easy maintenance with it, if you can hold a garden hose! So why a Red Chair? Although all of our Polywood brand of Adirondack furniture is in the attractive and practical Teak Brown color, and that color looks awesome out on our Redwood deck, I really wanted a bold Red Chair, just for me! So I picked this more Modern style of Adirondack Chair in the Crimson Red Color. When I 1st got this Crimson Red chair, I thought I had been sent the Sunset Red color by mistake, as the Red is quite bright! Upon checking the serial number sticker on the bottom of the seat of this chair, and then communicating with the Polywood Company about it, and then finally actually buying some of their color samples off their website, including both of their red colors, I can now, very confidently, confirm that I did indeed receive the Crimson Red color. The chair assembly was pretty easy because I had my husband do it and it comes half-way assembled anyway. He has plenty of practice with assembling all our plastic Adirondack furniture now, so it took him maybe 10-15 minutes to get this chair unboxed and assembled. ME? Well I'm an EXTREMELY Happy Camper now with my beautiful, cheerful, Crimson Red chair! I had wanted it in the curve-back style, but this Crimson color only comes in the straight-back style. It is still very comfortable and the seat is only about 1.5 inches smaller that the curve-back style, but the flat-back style is a bit lower at the seat than our other Polywood Nautical Curve-back Adirondack chairs. This style also is lower in the backrest and it does not come up to your neck so no head-rest pillow needed for this one. I think the curve-back style might have a higher back, which I would have preferred, but it did not come in the Crimson Red color, AND that was/is the color I had my heart set-on! As far as trying to choose between the 2 different red colors: I think the Sunset Red color is a bit more on the Orangish side. Maybe most people would call this a true red? The Crimson Red is just a bit more of a Barn-Red color, which is a tad darker with a bit of a brownish hue to it. So, although the Crimson Red color is still a bright Red, it is not quite as bright at the Sunset Red color is. It also depends on the lighting angle and time of day that you are looking at both of these 2 red colors. They seem to change depending on the viewing angle, and at some points they both seem to be about the same color! Anyway, I am so totally happy with my pretty Crimson RED Chair! Now I guess I'll need a Crimson Red end-table to go with it. I have it sitting on a small, back door porch area that is my private little retreat, meditation, prayer and reading area. It is away from our big deck and group of other Adirondack chairs. Husband has his shop area, and now I have my little outdoor Happy-Place too! Update 04/08/2023: I am still loving and enjoying my beautiful Crimson Red Modern Adirondack Chair. I love this so much I decided to get a Navy Blue one just like it to make a Patriotic retreat corner for summer out on our main deck. Now I just need a white table to put in-between these. The Navy Blue color is a pretty blue and goes well with the Crimson color. UPDATE 04/15/2022: Well, now I've got the Navy Modern Adirondack Chair sitting with the Crimson Chair and they look so nice together. I still have not found the right size white table to in between these 2 Chairs. So, since I will be getting a small tax return this year, I just ordered a White Modern Adirondack Chair to go right in the middle. Then I'll put a Navy and a Crimson South Beach 18" Side Table on either side of the white Chair. These totally brighten up an otherwise plain looking wooden porch deck!
