Can't read it under water.
I'm not sure about the accuracy, but I still can't get a sleep recharge status. I haven't read the directions yet so I will only speak of what I know. It is too big for a small person. Looks kind of stupid on a small wrist. I bought it to keep track during my swimming laps but unfortunately, you can't read it under water. The lower grade Polar watch was easy to read under water but I bought this one thinking it would have more features. It doesn't do much as a regular watch either. It is too late to return it so I am stuck using it as best I can.

Amazing fitness tool.
I've had this for over a year now and love it. Perfect for my uses. Great, visible display that puts FitBit to shame. Much better technology. Great support.

Now only wear during excercises
I stopped wearing this watch daily for several reasons. NEW 1 - You have to use third party apps to trim your exercises if you forget to stop it! Polar just says they are working on it. If you run, get in the car and drive somewhere, you can't just import your exercise and then click minute 30 and select delete remainder. Throws of all your metrics if you leave the exercise in so you just have to delete it entirely. Not a complete deal breaker other than indicating Polar has fallen behind the curve with exercise monitors. NEW2 - If you turn off the HR monitor, you have to enable it again every time you exercise. It seems simple enough that if you start an exercise, you want the HR monitoring and again, this could be a coded option. Do you want to turn off constant HR monitoring? Do you still want HR monitoring when exercising? 1 - You have to wear it too tightly to get accurate HR results. 1a - Because you have to wear it too tightly to get good HR results, it is uncomfortable to wear while sleeping, at least for me. I gave up after about two months with this, I would wake up in the night and take it off. 2 - The black band is textured on top and needs regular cleaning to keep it clean, especially from salt water sports. Was not an issue with my timex ironman that had a smooth band. UPDATED 3 - The interface is cumbersome and slow, worth selecting a watch with more than 1 button if you want this type of fitness monitor. 4 - The touch screen responsiveness is poor. I can't tell you how many times I've been trying to select a workout and I keep swiping to get to the next exercise but the current exercise just moves to the side and then back to center. 5 - Constantly having to hit the button to see the time. Read this was a complaint with others, didn't think much of it, now it is a complaint of mine because I have to stop typing or whatever I'm doing to read the time or indiscreetly interact with my watch to monitor the time I've set for meetings. I work a lot with my hands, they get dirty or I have gloves on, pain in the rear. 6 - I started again wearing this watch to monitor my sleep and see if taking melatonin had any quantitative effect. I sleep well and get up early than expected and Polar things I'm compromised. I sleep poorly, struggle to get out of bed hitting the snooze several times and Polar thinks I've slept "Good". 7 - Activity tracking, I set my activity level to the highest, I did yard work for 3 hours and it reported I was at 212% of my daily activity. The daily activity bar is set super low and not worth giving any attention. 8 - countdown timer, if you start the countdown timer you will get two different alerts, if you move back to watch screen you get more vibrating and a screen that tells you and asks for interaction that the timer is done. If you leave the watch on the countdown timer screen, you get some vibrating and it just ends. Other issues I've read but don't care about. I honestly don't think it is big deal that when I run, ride or whatever that the gps doesn't follow with 100% accuracy. When reviewing a run or hike in the app, I can see my path on the map cut a corner or go off trail on hikes. Whatever tiny distance is cut off my overall run, isn't important. The watch has sometimes been spot on when compared to my other gps devices like my Oregon for hiking or my phone. Overall I'm still wearing it for workouts but for the most part, I'm just tracking HR zone now and my individual exercises themselves to see improvement or slides. Update: Would not buy this watch or another Polar device. Their development seems slow and not really in tune to how people would use their devices.

All you need on the go!
People buy smart watches with the same mindset buying smart phones, they never really use them to full capacity. A conversational piece. The Polar Ignite does the job with simplicity and adequate utility. It’s a tool that provides helpful information on the quest for health & fitness without breaking the bank. It’s spot on when I over-do in my training and recommends downtime as well as suggests substitute activity for good recovery. I can better gauge my performance between the gym and hot yoga sessions at the studio (avoiding over exertion and an ambulance call). Very instrumental during lap swimming by monitoring my THR and rest x. I use the sleep monitoring mode nightly, which tells me how hard I can train the next day. Since I’m prone to pushing beyond my limitations too often, especially at my age 58+, this sports watch protects me from myself, preventing medical mishap and not degrading my fitness goals. Sleek, good appearance, and “bright display”. Polar Flow phone app is quite informative and versatile. Gets the job done hassle free.

Pretty good for the average user
My previous Polar was an M400, that lasted until the mini usb decided not to work anymore. Battery life on that model was very long, and the B/W screen worked perfectly outdoors due to high contrast. The new polar designs, vantage or ignite, lack that straight forward display after they decided that a color screen was a better choice. I would strongly suggest polar that in future software updates they give users the option to switch to a high contras b/w display. Otherwise is a pretty good activity tracker for the average user. There was no way that my Samsung A 70 would link to the watch, I don't needed, but it was a feature advertised that didn't work for me.

Polar Ignite
I've only been wearing this for a couple of weeks now but I really like the functionality that I have learned to use so far. The device is very comfortable to wear and works well on the functionality/features I've been able to figure out so far. My only "con" would be that I wish Polar offered some kind of training workshop/webinar for how to actually use more of the features than I have figured out and how to make them "work for me". It's nice to know that I "can" or a feature is "available" but how do I "do" that?

Could be better, but does the job to an extent
I’ve had the Polar Ignite for 6 months so far and while I like the watch for its intents and purposes, for a heart rate tracker during any kind of HIIT training or intense workouts with movements that bend the wrist (burpees, pushups, devil presses, etc) it leaves a lot to be desired. The ability to accurately catch the heart rate influx during intervals is fairly abysmal. When I first got the watch, it did a decent job at adjusting quickly but overtime its readings haven’t been as accurate. However, given the fact that I have a full colored tattoo sleeve, I’ve always considered that may play a part in its lack of accuracy. At least the accuracy I’ve been hoping for. As for all the other functions, they work pretty well. The sleep tracker is an added bonus, the alarm clock does the job, though I would like to see some improvement on the timer and menus, they’re still usable. Now last but not least: Battery life. It sucks. However it charges quickly but do expect to need a charge every few days.

Great fitness tracker
I had read lots of good reviews about the Polar Ignite and as I do lots of Les Mills workouts this seemed like the best option as it links directly with them via the app. The watch is great and battery life is excellent as well as only taking about 20 mins to fully charge so easily done whilst in the shower after a workout! The training features and app are really easy to navigate and provide a comprehensive training record as well as linking with Strava etc. The GPS feature is great as it records all walks, runs and bike rides with a full map afterwards although I did have one walk where it recorded some bizarre route I hadn't actually done - has not happened since that one episode. 2 minor irritations are that the wrist twist to get it to light up is very hit and miss which is annoying when you just want to check the time: there is no problem when working out as you have a feature to allow it to stay lit up during the workout. Also, when you are recording a long walk or bike ride you cannot actually see what the time is whilst it is recording. Can be a bit of a nuisance if out for a prolonged period as you cannot check your watch just for the time! Overall it is an excellent fitness watch for the money and well worth while.

Needs more features
It's a bit disappointing how simple and not even fully accurate it is for the price. Too bad, I was looking for something small but it even fell short on that. Also it is very touch sensitive, it scrolls like nothing. Overall the design look is nice.

Sleep recharge/Stress monitoring features are great
I bought this as a present for my partner. Can't comment on full functionality as I don't use it. This gift has been very popular, a bought after some heavy research into the best value products for stress monitoring. The insight this watch gives into Pulse, Sleep Cycles, Heart Rate Variability and breathing rate as measures of general stress and wellbeing are fantastic given this device is at the lower end of the price point for smart watches. Exactly what my partner wanted as someone who doesn't exercise particularly heavily but wanted to track and improve general stress and wellbeing. The metrics are easy to understand and based on some reasonable science and research. The watch can also track more general activity like running, cycling and a host of other exercise types. I can't comment on the accuracy but I hear that the GPS tracking feature is less accurate than some models. Perfect for the purpose it was bought for - an introduction to collecting biometric data for general health and wellbeing. My partner doesn't normally wear a watch but is happily obsessed with her new gadget.

screen stopped working and faff to connect to phone
Purchased in Jan and now screen stopped working but have to post to Polar as Amazon don't cover! - The sleep app is brilliant but the rest is poor, a real slow faffy process to connect anytime to phone - I have a P30 Pro - so decent phone. - Very hard to get it to record exercises but do find the GPS good, when can actually connect to phone. Previous fitbit user - would really prefer a refund so I can buy another Fitbit - problem with Fitbit was allergy, but it least it worked well.
