Prodotto in Giappone

Over 3k miles on mixed surfaces with no flats
last week the rear 700x38 gravel king slick wore through to the casing. I checked back through my Amazon orders to see when I purchased this set, and figured that I have over 3K miles on these. About 50% of the miles are on gravel/dirt roads. During that time, I've run them tubeless (primarily with Orange Seal sealant), and had NO Flats. There were plenty of punctures - as illustrated by the globs of coagulated sealant inside the casing where a puncture was sealed. These are very serviceable tires - the downsides are stiff sidewalls and a bit of extra weight - but at the price point they are hard to beat. BTW - My favorite tires, Rene Herse Ultralights are 2x as expensive; they're made by Panaracer, too.

Smooth ride
I have only ridden these a short while, but they ride smoothly, even over poorly maintained pavement.

I promise the flats are worth the ride quality
These tires are are awesome. I’m going to be frank, on my very first day after install I got two flats. One from a tiny tiny piece of glass, one from a tiny thorn. Did I curse and declare I’d be returning these pieces of s$&t!!! You bet your arse I did. But, then after a bit of consideration, I decided to keep them. They aren’t touring tires. They are a lightweight chubby road tire with some traction for a bit of gravel. So if bullet proof is your thing, look elsewhere. Gatorskins maybe. Because you will get the occasional flat on these gravel kings. Do not let the size fool you. I was also just unlucky right out of the gate. I’ve put a few hundred miles on these so far (no more flats yet) and do about 90% road with a couple of 3-4 mile stretches of gravel i like to shred regularly on my way home. They ride pretty well on the gravel. But mostly I’d say they are a road / rough road tire for someone who likes some chubby rubber. Living in Los Angeles I have to put up with awful city leadership. Yes taxes are incredibly high, but don’t think that’s going to keep our streets pot hole free. No sir!!! I’ve had smoother commutes in third world countries. So these tires give me the confidence and comfort to take on the LA streets so that I don’t get “Garcetti’d” by the very common surprise LA city pot hole. They are for sure slower rolling than a set of 28’s, but they aren’t about speed. They deliver a plushness and a comfort that is simply unmatched. They descend with unrivaled confidence. Since installing them I’ve been riding my Vaya non stop and have been leaving my road bike at home. They truly are a joy. And as far as wear is concerned, still no signs of wear after 300 miles. Do yourself a favor and go with these.

Very nice tires, reasonably priced
Just installed these in place of 28mm Vittorias on NOX CF wheelset. Fit was tight (but not nearly the fight the Vittorias gave me when I first installed them.) These are not identified as UST but I’m fairly certain they would seal up tubeless without much trouble. The ride on these vs my 28’s was blissful at 40psi (but then the 28s felt like pillows coming off of 25s) I cant speak for durability after a single ride but I’ll take comfort over GatorSkin durability at this point; I no longer race and prefer a comfortable ride over strava fake-race trophies ;-) Pricing is lower than the comparable Rene Herse/BQ tires so that was a plus. My understanding is the Rene’s are made by Panaracer so they’re the same tire (?) My only wish is that the sidewalls were that lighter tan color like the RH’s - they are very nice looking tires! These PanaRacers are kind of mid-range brown, not dark, not light color; definitely look nicer than the all black tires in my opinion. Tires arrived quickly and well packaged, great deal - thanks !

Excellent ride quality - Very Poor Puncture Resistance
Review of 32 cc brown sidewall GravelKing (not the SK version). I ride with tubes, so can't speak to tubeless setup. As other have noted, tire bead is very tight and initial installation caused blisters on both of my thumbs, but I was able to install after some effort and persistence. Fixing flats on the side of the road is a pain, but not impossible. Takes 5 min longer than typical tire to get bead over rim. I have been commuting on these tires routinely for about a month now, in the dry and wet, mostly on asphalt roads with occasional gravel and glass debris on shoulders. ~250 miles and counting. The good: ride quality is excellent. Tires are lightweight and very supple. Grip is supreme, and rolling efficiency is excellent. Tires look awesome on my Fuji Cross too. The bad: tires are very susceptible to glass punctures and are harder than typical to mount due to tight bead. I attribute this to thin casing and texture of tread. I have had three flats in 250 miles due to glass fragments puncturing through casing. And changing the tubes in the cold rain on the road shoulder was made worse due to the tight bead. I was hoping for a tougher tire - should have gone with a puncture resistant tire. 30 min late to work on two occasions in one month due to these flats so far. I do love the grip and ride quality of the tire, so I ended up putting in Rhinodillo tire liners and haven't flatted since.

Great set of gravel racer tires
The tires overall feel comfortable, take some air out and river them out to the gravel roads. I usually don’t do anything more than that I wouldn’t suggest using those around any rocks, though I haven’t had flats I imagine they wouldn’t be too resistant. And they look great with the gum wall, seriously great.

Dependable.
Although they do not offer much in the way of puncture resistance, the tire offers a bit more comfort because of that. Sure it's no Rene Herse or Ultradynamico, but for the price It's a great medium. I put about 1300 miles on these tires across one year. I rode Urban streets, suburban stroads, MUPs and the occasional gravel/off-road short-cut. I've got a couple of flats on it but didn't feel very vulnerable to flats (I've ridden over all kinds of roadside debris, glass thorns, etc...). I'd be wary in the suburbs as the roads tend to have more nails, screws and glass in the bike lane/shoulder.

Great Tyre
Great Tyre. I have not had any issues so far, used mainly on the road or light gravel they have done about 800 km so far and I haven't had a single flat. They roll pretty quick and the brown side walls look great! They are much lighter than my Knobbly WTB Riddler's that I had on before these. Judging by the other comments I wonder if I have just been lucky, but from my experience these have been really good. I would buy them again!

Great Tyre but....
This is a great tyre and the rolling resistance is almost nothing but would be good to have some extra kind of protection like the tubed tyres.

Good grip, roll fairly smooth
Bought these as my 38mm seemed a bit much for the road and light gravel around London. So far, they roll quite well and they do not seem to hold me back. They also feel steady on light gravel. They are not as smooth as a true road tire, but I can run these as low as 40 psi, even on road and you get a cushioned feel.

These are great, they last well, work brilliantly and look great too..
These are my favourite tyre. They roll nice and fast on regular roads and are amazing in the rain. They are lasting very well and they cope really well with the gravel tracks that I often find myself riding down. They feel nice to ride, they looks great and they perform incredibly well. Very happy.

Excellent tyres, great on gravel, fast on tarmac
I just put these on my gravel bike and they can handle pretty much all the trails I ride on and are as fast on road as my road bike. Recommended
