Great design but very poor quality

I bought this pink dish and 3 others ones in blackPlatinum Pets 1-Cup Single Saucer Feeder with Wide Rimmed Bowl, Black Chrome on February 20, 2015. My cats are 15 and 16 years old and I thought a raised dish would be easier and more comfortable for them to eat from. The dish size is actually perfect for a cat, from a single serving of wet food to filling the bowl and leaving it out with dry food. My cats took to the bowls immediately so there was never a problem with them refusing to eat from the bowls. Because the bowls don't sit tightly in the stand, the dishes can "rattle" a little. If your cat is enthusiastic about eating every last drop, the dish can shake a bit in the stand and it sounds like popcorn popping in a microwave. But that's bearable and again, it doesn't seem to bother the cats. Each dish has a raised imprint in the center bottom of a paw print,plus raised imprints of little paws around the wide rim. I thought these little paws were cute but now I see this is actually a design flaw. I always washed these dishes by hand and used a non-abrasive scubber sponge. After about 15 months of using the dishes daily, I noticed the color enamel started to peel in the center by the paw print on one of the dishes. Within a few weeks, the same thing happened to the rest of the dishes and now I have to replace them all. I thought the colors were pretty but now I see that I should have simply purchased plain, stainless dishes instead. A minor point but the little black stamp on the rim of the bowls fell off within weeks after I received them. I didn't worry about that because it wasn't in contact with the food. But now I think that should have tipped me off that these bowls are not very good quality. The stand itself is durable and I haven't experienced any peeling or chipping of the stands' enamel. I would keep using the stands if I can find plain stainless bowls that will fit. Overall, the design is good but the quality is very poor. In case anyone is interested in the exact dimensions, the stand is 3 3/4 inches high. The entire bowl width with the wide rim is 4 3/4 inches. The interior width of the bowl without the rim is 3 1/2 inches. The depth of the bowl is 1 1/4 inches. And if anyone reading this can recommend a plain stainless dish that would fit in these stands, please let me know!

I bought this for my very tall & large tom cat Tiger so he wouldn't have to bend down so far to eat. This little diner is gorgeous & very well made...just not for a cat. The bowl is too small in diameter for any of my four cats to put their head inside of to eat but I believe this would be good rather for a small dog.

Cat sized!

Perfect height for the cat and just the right size for his meals. The bowl does rattle around, though, so I might try some cloth to make the fit a little tighter. The stand is perfectly sturdy, though, and the bowl cleans easily.

Not as cool as it looks

This is the perfect height for my Shit-zu but the bowl has no weight to it and it constantly moves around as she is trying to eat her food. She didn't like that and barked at her new dish. I went to return and the shipping through Amazon costs more than the dish costs...actually it was more. Now looking to donate it or maybe drill holes in them and put a plant in it. Please be aware the 6oz bowl is TINY. It works for the Shit-zu so she isn't overfed but this would not work for any larger of a dog.

Small but good roach deterrent when placed in water

I got this because roaches were getting into my cats food instead of eating the bait. I placed it in bowl with the bottom filled with water. My cats can still eat their food but the roaches can't reach it.

This is very nicely made. I like having the bowl in the stand. Because it was smaller than I expected ( I didn't pay attention to the ounces it holds! ), I use it to hold water. Pretty color.

Cats like it

It took a meal or two for my cats to get used to the bowl being higher but now they love it!

A toy cup perhaps . . .

This is so small, it looks like a toy. It is a miniature. Extremely small. Not big enough for a cat, maybe for a rat. LOL! Also, color was pink, not purple. Very disappointed.
