Great product, works great

Makes big caulk jobs easy
Does what it's supposed to do. Well worth the money. We have been doing a home remodel with a lot of quarter round and other trim replacement, all of which needs caulking. Hundreds of linear feet of caulk. This gun makes it easy and puts out a consistent bead once you get the air pressure set for the flow rate you want.

A good tool for little money or a Cramped Hand Saver
I'm getting too old to continuously squeeze a caulking gun handle. I was originally thinking of a battery operated one, but why? Those run 2, 3 or 4 times what this costs and you just know the batteries will go bad from non use. I read the reviews of this and saw a few saying it leaked air and it was normal for this gun. If it leaks the air it uses to pressurize the chamber with the caulk tube, how can that be normal? For 40 bucks I'll give it a try. True to the other reviews it leaked a lot of air. To the point where it was affecting the operation of the gun. Ideally there should be a couple of seals in the top. Easy fix. I put a rubber hose washer around the tip of the caulk cartridge and used a fair amount of Teflon tape on the threads where the cap screws on. Problem solved and now it works great. I was using Lexel caulk which is pretty thick and it was about 50f outside. I bumped my compressor output to 40 psi and adjusted the bead with the included regulator. I would've given this 5 stars if they didn't go cheap and not include a much needed seal or gasket. Penny pinching can sometimes come back to bite you in the ass. If they had gone with a machine thread on the cap and a simple gasket it would be great right out of the box. I'd pay an extra 5 bucks to have that included. But some Teflon tape and a washer and you're good to go.

Well designed tool
I was repainting my 25 yr old 20' trailer with 2x6 boards that I had replaced about 10 yrs ago. I had put them in with furniture clamps then bolted through the braces with carriage bolts so there were no gaps between the planks. Tens yrs in Tucson will dry anything out, so now I had gaps up to 1/4". I have sideboards and dividers on this trailer and haul motar sand for a large shop I am building that I can't get a dump truck to. Therefore I need nobgaps. After sanding the deck I started filling the gaps with white 100% silicone with a hand caulking gun. One 20' run and facing 14 more made me say no way. I went on Amazon and found this. I have never had a problem with any CP tools so I paid the extra and bought this and am glad I did. The ball valve that comes with it has graduations that click so I have no idea why other reviews had so much trouble. Since I was just running silicone I set my regulator to 60 PSI and opened the valve one click, half way. I cut the tip of the silicone tube to about the width of the gap I was going to work on and had at it. I ran 16 tubes of caulking, even and smooth in the same amount of time it took me to run one gap with the hand gun. When I was done the only thing that hurt was my back from bending over. No forearm cramp or hand cramp.one more thing. I read a review that suggested a needle valve instead of a ball valve. I'm sure CP used a ball valve to make it easier to lube the gun. Always lube the gun. I used two drops of air tool oil every 5 tubes of caulk and it performed perfectly. Hope this helps.

This is legit
The media could not be loaded. I'm a big DIYer and am currently restoring an old home, starting with scrapping & repainting the outside. The whole house needed to be caulked, and with the size and age of the home, I went through a TON of caulking. I did not want to do it with a hand-squeeze gun. I really wanted to buy the DeWalt cordless caulking gun, but really didn't want to pony up the $200 for it. I came across this caulking gun and after reading a few reviews, decided to give it a try. I love this gun. It's comfortable in my hand and lays a nice even bead of caulking. The gun comes with an in-line air regulator, so there's no need to get another in-line one (Amazon recommended it as an additional purchase, but it wasn't needed). You will need a main regulator off your air compressor. I found that 20-30 lbs of pressure off the compressor's regular, with a 1/8-3/16 top hole in the caulking tube, was perfect for my project. I started out with 20 lbs but increased it to 30 and just used the in-line regular to tune it down if needed. I would recommend getting the swivel male coupler to attach to the gun instead of a fixed one. It seemed to keep the air hose out of the way pretty good. Enough that I rarely had troubles with the hose getting in my way. The gun releases all pressure once you let off the trigger, so I didn't have have any problems with overrunning caulk. I cannot think of any significant cons with this product. The biggest thing I can recommend to those that are having problems is to set your air pressure at the right poundage at the air compressor. You only need 20 to MAYBE 40 or 50 lbs. 30 was perfect for me.

Worth every penny.
An absolute hand saver. And I can't believe it's cheaper than a tajima hand-powered caulking gun. It takes a bit of trial and error to figure out which setting to use on the adjustable knob. I'd recommend practicing on a scrap piece of OSB or something. You'll definitely empty a full tube of tar or something with one trigger pull on the highest setting if it's a warm day (speaking from experience), so fiddle around a bit. Once you get it figured out it's a life saver. Just make sure not to drag your air hose through whatever you're sealing up! Oh, one more thing. You'll think it's leaking air when you first use it because it hisses like crazy when you pull the trigger. That's totally normal, it's working fine. It lets air pass through so as to not just build a pressure bomb behind your caulking tube.

Works great but you need to know one tip
This works great, but you have to know one thing that they don't say in the manual: You MUST start the caulking tube before you load it into the gun. In other words, poke the hole, snip the nozzle as usual and then push (like with the handle of a rake) the bottom of the tube to get it started. If you don't do this, the bottom of the tube can jam and you'll get air INSIDE the tube (i.e. into the actual caulk) rather than pushing from behind it and you don't want that because it will be impossible to stop the caulk from flowing.

Best invention since sliced bread
Had a chance to use this yesterday. Really appreciated how it worked and saved strain on my elderly hands. Just pull trigger to apply and release to stop flow. The little brass air flow attachment that comes with it, makes it so that you don't have to set air pressure on the compressor to use the gun. Leave your normal set compressor pressure and control the air flow with the fitting on the gun. Highly recommended product.

Highly recommend this caulking gun
Love this tool. It’s a hand saver. Used it for applying polyurethane sealand around large basement slab. Would not have managed such a large project without this gun. Went to Home Depot to buy a male swivel adapter and hooked up to my Dewalt compressor. Kept low pressure around 30 lbs. Nice even flow. No hassles. Super easy.
