Not a direct bolt on for a 13 Tahoe

I was sent two left frame mounts instead of a “pair”. To Rough County’s credit, there customer service was spot on. I called them on Monday and had the correct replacement mount by Wednesday. These are for Silverado’s so they done match up to the Tahoes frame. I knew this going in but managed a mix of bolt on and weld on to get it done. I have access to a CNC Plasma machine and could have built my own. But for the money and simplicity these were well worth the cost.

Badlands apex will not work

Overall it's a very well made and sturdy piece. But you have to cut the corners off it to use a badlands apex 12,000 lbs

Absolutely perfect fit.

Once installed, this mount is nearly invisible. The nylon rope is tucked nicely into the factory tow hook and is protected from the sun and road debris due to its internal mounting location. I have an external front mount on my yukon and have noticed rust, faded paint, and damage from rock chips after only a few months. Added bonue to the hidden mount: you don't hit your shin on it!! Who hasn't knocked into a trailer hitch before and discovered a new lexicon to barrass innocent ears?! Seriously, if you are even contemplating this mount you are already that much closer to being happy with the pruchase. 100% worth every penny. Oh, I forgot to mention that I was pleasantly surprised to find a license plate relocation bracket that made the process a breeze!

Solid construction, missing hardware, poor packaging

So I bought this for a warn 12 to put on my 11 Silverado. Price is great compared to everything else, and the factory look is what I wanted. First off, the packaging wasn't the best, the box was beat up and the winch plate looked like someone drug it through dirt, so if you are planning on ordering something more fragile from rough country keep that in mind. The construction of the plate is solid though, this was most important to me. Welded very well and seems to have support across all the important spots. Then there is the hardware situation, or rather lack there of. The kit was missing several of the plate mounting bolts, as well as the nuts for the clutch handle. They may have been in the box when shipped, but most likely fell out due to the terrible packaging job. Lastly, and this may be on me, the stencil did not properly mark out what actually need cut. It wasn't an issue, and still looks fine, but I ended up removing a lot more plastic that what is advertised. And that was for a hawse fairlead, which is smaller. All in all, I'm pleased with how it looks. I might change my review once I've used it more. So long as the plate doesn't fail and pull my front bumper off, all those complaints are invalid. I still wouldn't trust rough country with my suspension though, just based on the packaging and missing pieces alone.

Great Quality, Design and Product

PRO'S The quality and design for the Rough Country Hidden Winch was great. Solid thick steel that has a a good fully covered paint covering. Screw holes were designed for some flexibility with how the truck has been built. It was so smart that I was able to have my plow mounts on with the hidden winch ! (Was a little harder to figure out but works great!) Also the nuts and bolts were stronger and larger then what the description/instructions stated . HIGHLY RECOMMEND. CON'S Only negative is the instructions could be better with better pictures and showing how the license plate bracket gets installed. It also should have some kind of nut/bolts to come with also. This is a minor negative and wouldn't change me buying this but just felt like it was a after thought and was literally the last thing done after the whole beautiful install that I was like what is going on here.

Needs a little work.

I was fairly satisfied with this kit however I did have some issues. Issue one: some of the parts were rusted. Not enough to make them unusable but nonetheless not great quality control. Issue two: the package was lacking the proper instructions and the Rough Country website did not list the instructions in an easy to find location. You have to go into the sub menus on the specifications tab and searching "instructions" on their site yields no results. Issue three: if you follow the instructions from the company you will be left with a crooked bumper and doing more work than necessary and a lot head scratching. Issue four: The bolts included in my kit for the aluminum guide and license plate bracket were not long enough to be used with included flat washer and lock washer and if you purchase longer bolts from the hardware store in the same thread pitch the head is bigger and you will not be able to fit a socket over it to tighten it. The other issue I had was the instructions advise you to mount the winch to the plate prior to putting the plate on the truck which makes for a ridiculously heavy job to do solo. There is nothing requiring the winch to be premounted.

Perfect fit

09 Chevy Silverado LT. Easy install. The fact that the truck is really easy to take apart helped but the mount bolted right up. A couple hours and a 12,000 lb Badlands winch fit nicely
