nice value compared to steel griddle
Bought in place of the heavy duty steel griddles since these were half the price. The quality reflects the difference in price. Not that these griddles are bad, but just not as well made. The preseasoning on the cast iron is basic and just for shipping. Will need a proper seasoning to keep food from sticking.

Reversable?
Firstly, if you think you're getting 2 tops, stop looking at picture books and start reading words. Secondly, it's a decent top for sure, but it you're using it on a burner base it soots on the bottom like a mf'er, making the "reverse" gimmick pretty unusable sans a good cleaning prior to use on the flip side. All in all a good product but woulda just gotten the flat grill top had I known it soots up so badly.

works well for grilling
this does a good job of grilling on my cap chef stove. made some very good burgers with it. There is another camp chef product which is an enclosed grill box and had I known about that I might have purchased it instead of this as there is a lid to better control the heat. nevertheless, i am quite happy with this product.

Heavy Cast Iron Reversible Griddle, Perfect...
This griddle is a must have for my full size BBQ. I bought 2, put them side by side for larger cooking area. No cracks, no warping, they fit perfectly. This griddle is HEAVY, full on cast iron. I love the grease catching reservoir on the one side. The first thing I fried was a full package of extra thick Costco bacon. I used to hate the mess cooking Bacon inside the house on the stove and the smoke would also stink up the house. Cooking with this griddle outside on the BBQ made the best bacon I have every cooked. It came out perfect. The reservoir was filled up, but it did not overflow. Some reviews mentioned their griddle cracked and warped. This is not my experience, they are flat, and even though I made them extra hot, no cracks. My guess its the luck of the draw. When making a cast iron item of this weight, size and shape, you will probably end up with a 3-5% failure rate. All I can say is these griddles have exceeded my expectations. If one were to fail, I would buy it again.

Great product with proper care!!
Have used this now for both burgers on the grill side twice and just cooked bacon and eggs, some over medium and some scrambled on the griddle side and I am very pleased with the performance, it is preseasoned but I still gave it a quick wipe down with veg oil for added protection as you should with anything cast iron. Exelent sear lines on the burgers, just make sure you heat slow and put them on when grill is hot, and don't flip too soon and they won't stick so much. On the griddle side I didn't have any problems with sticking even with scrambled eggs, I believe the key is proper preventive maintenance and taking proper care and this grill/griddle will give me many years. The only thing is there is a cooler side, the side torward the middle of the 2 burner camp chef explorer. Wich really isn't a problem, just rotate your food so it cooks evenly. Clean up was almost effortless with some oil, salt and cloth. Definitely recommend this item!!!

Wanted this for awhile!
Wanted a camp chef griddle that only covers half se we could keep our grill box on the other half. We had a non-brand griddle before but it didn’t fit well therefore didn’t cook evenly.

DECENT GRIDDLE
I like the size of the griddle, Fits just right on one of my grills. The only thing I'm not thrilled about is the surface is not smooth. It has kind of a rough finish, unlike my other cast iron. Makes it a little harder to clean and oil. You can't use paper towels for drying or coating with oil, because the rough finish causes the paper to leave paper (like lint, but not) on the surface. No big deal, but I prefer smooth.

Just what I needed
My cute bbq grill is a square shape of approximately 18"x18" so initially I wanted a 16"x16" size to fit just right in for the heat around to pass through the sides , but could not find. This grill plate came in 16"x14" as advertised and actually works great. I can see the flames and it sits right on top of the burners. It's thick, heavy and well crafted.

Fantastic!
This is the best thing I've done with the BBQ in a long time. If you need to replace your grill due to it being all rusty, just get one of these instead. This thing is really heavy and you have to take care of it properly. If you do, it will last a LONG time. I use it every time I barbecue these days. Works great for everything I have tried on it so far. I haven't had a BBQ fire since I started using it too! I haven't used it on the stove yet because we have an induction cooktop.

Not bad
It’s ok but I’m not overly impressed. Everything sticks to it and it’s hard to clean . It’s heavy and awkward to wash .,I have to be very careful not to damage my sink . I have buyers remorse and feel the price and don’t feel it was worth the amount I paid. My camp chef stove is nice . But all of the accessories for it are overpriced .

Does this look like a defect
I am going to go ahead and keep this and try it out on the 1st or 2nd of Sept. I am concerned if this is a defective grill with the uneven patch in the middle or just the way cast iron is. You can see the blemish on both sides. If anyone could let me know would be greatly appreciated. There is no manufacturer contact email listed unless I am missing that. Update: It was defective. Received a replacement that had no defects. Sending back first unit. Happy now. Will update on how it performs in early September

As expected
Very good size vs weight as it is cast iron I always like to keep in mind how much weight I want to add to my geer if I'm loading up for outdoors. Plus I like the versatility with this one as it has the two sides and it fits the average oven so it can be used just as much indoors as outdoors.
