Portable & thin
This is a great cooktop. I got this for my daughter for her camper van. She doesn't have a stove in it, nor a lot of room to store things, so this is perfect. It's not HUGE, but it will hold a nice skillet/pot of food. It is flat, and that makes it nice for easy storage when not in use. We also like that there's no knobs to deal with. It's all a flat surface and basically you touch & heat/cook. We love this!

You lose some coil size for portability
Works great in our camper w/ a 10inch pan. Not sure if it would do well with larger sized pans. Wife got tired of using the propane in the camper when we are on full hookup. It takes so long to bring water up to boil or to fry anything in a pan. With this, the heat is almost instant... it's crazy! We used it with a 10inch pan and the very edges of the pan take longer to come up to heat, but so long as your not trying to fill the pan completely it shouldn't be an issue. In the manual it recommends sizes of 5" to 10" so if you plan to use a larger pan I don't know how well it will work. Just a note of caution if that's your intended use. Cleanup was a breeze, just turn it off. Wait a few minutes and wipe it down with a sponge and store it. I see this saving us more than a couple propane tank refills a season! Warning! If you get this, don't be surprised if your wife starts to ask for a induction cooktop stove in the house kitchen!

Induction coil is at most five inches in diameter.
I have had a Duxtop countertop induction cooker for a few years. This is rather similar in cooking performance. With one important difference, the GreenPan is much better at recognizing induction-able cookware, which is why I'll be retiring the Duxtop, which I ended up using only for warming up milk for yoghurt. Now I'll be able to use the 9-inch pan I bought, expecting it to work on the Duxtop, on a daily basis. Other than that, I see almost no difference in performance. The induction zone is too small to provide even cooking in anything larger than a nine-inch pan. For boiling water that is not an issue, of course, but if you intend to fry in a 12-inch pan you will need to pretty much be paying attention and moving whatever you're cooking into and away from the hot center. Wok cooking in your fry pan, more or less. There are creative possibilities here, I suppose. I do like that I have one more burner in my kitchen. I like the reduced carbon footprint. I like the reduction in combustion compounds in the air I'm breathing. The future, if there is to be a good one, will be electric. Induction cooking will have a significant role in this. So far, the portable induction cooktops I have seen are a functional replacement for the small stovetop burners. How about a cooktop that can evenly heat like the big burners? I'd expect the cost to double, but that would be fine by me.

Excellent
I have an old GE electric stove from the 1970's. It still works great but it is slow. I know that induction hotplates are supposed to be quite fast so I got this guy. I love it. If I want bacon for breakfast, I have to preheat the pan for 6 minutes on my old stove. With this Greenpan induction cooktop, if I put the bacon in the same pan and then turn on the burner I will hear sizzling in ONE minute. And that's at 270° not maximum. It's amazing! Just know that you must have induction-capable cookware to use with it. A magnet must be able to stick to the outside bottom of the pan. Induction cooktops are so fast because they make the pan heat itself by inducing an electromagnetic current in the pan's bottom. It must be ferrous metal to work. With the right pan, heating is quick and uniform. It's important to realize that, unless the pan is in solid contact with the surface of the burner, it won't work. It will just beep unhappily. The one flaw I have uncovered with this unit is that if this happens, sometimes it is difficult to resume cooking. Even if you put the pan back on the burner, it continues to beep and not heat. I find that I'll have to turn it off, wait a minute and then turn it back it on before it will reset. Clean-up is easy. The entire top surface is ceramic glass. Wipes clean with very little effort. EDIT 11/2022: Having used the GreenPan for a while, I have to lower my rating due to a strange idiosyncrasy that it possesses. If I turn down the heat on something I've been cooking for a while, it behaves just as though I'd removed the pan or pot from the burner, beeping and refusing to heat. It won't allow me to cook until it has completely cooled.

another good one from my new favorite brand
So I've gotten a couple of pans from this brand, which I've been enjoying for over a year now. So I didn't hesitate to request this one from my new favorite brand! This induction burner is a good-quality countertop burner. I like that this offers a precise temperature control and a range of features to make cooking more efficient and enjoyable even for me who doesn't like to spend too much time cooking lol. With a power output of 1800W, this induction cooktop heats up quickly (again even for impatient person like me) and can handle a variety of cooking tasks ! Its programmable LED display with timer allows me to set the cooking time and temperature for each dish. This can be incredibly useful for ensuring that your food is cooked to perfection every time, which has been a huge plus as I can set it up while working at home. The cooktop is also very user-friendly, with intuitive temperature controls that make it easy to adjust the heat as needed. It is also very safe to use, with a built-in overheat protection system and a child lock feature that prevents accidental activation (considering I, accident prone person, haven't had any incident with it speaks volumes lol) The most of all, I love its compact and portable design, which makes it ideal to cook even next to my working area haha when I am busy. I think this will be a great for any small kitchens, dorm rooms, or for use as an extra burner during parties or family gatherings. After about 8 month of usage, I think this is an excellent choice for anyone who wants a reliable and versatile countertop burner.
