Trust pentek, always seems reliable. integrated mount works, DOES NOT INCLUDE WRENCH
Always used the models with metal mount brackets & 4 screws into the top, & always felt like 1 screw would always be janky - this design ends that. Its a little clumsy to mount in tight spaces (cough under farmhouse sinks that use a disposal...couch) buuut easy enough that its a deal breaker otherwise. Just do yourself a favor & have some 3/4"x 3/16" fender washers for the install cause a #10 pan head is not wide enough for the upper keyway of the mount holes. overall, I like it, will use more of this style in the future, tho typically using the 1/4", 3/4" & 1" models..

A little common sense will ensure success!
I USED 2 OF THESE to build a 2-stage under-sink water filter system. I wanted to break away from the self-contained under-sink water filter system we had for years, because, A) The proprietary filters we were required to buy are ridiculously expensive ... and B) The last set of replacement filters leaked and ruined the inside of the under-sink cabinet, as well as destroyed the wood composite flooring in the kitchen, which we had to completely replace with tile. That was the last straw! I won't mention the brand name of that system, but name contains a G and a B. We did, however use the faucet that came with it in our DIY Filter System. I attached the 2 Pentek 158643 filter housings to a 2x4, and mounted the 2x4 under the kitchen sink. The built-in mounting bracket design made this an easy project. I Joined the 2 housings with a 3 inch copper nipple and plumbed the in and out with 3/8 plastic tubing and push-in fittings. The only issues I had were that initially the red push-button relief valves leaked. So I disassembled them and stretched the tiny spring a bit (I knew this in advance, and credit goes to another review I had read before purchasing). I also added some Teflon Magic Lube to the O-ring washer under the relief valve … problem solved. I never push the button, as it is not necessary ... pressure can be released simply by shutting off the water supply and opening the faucet, and is only required when changing filters. The second issue was that the large O-rings in the housing did not initially seal completely. Coating the O-rings with the Magic Lube solved that problem as well. I am now 7 months with these filter housings ... no leaks, and have just successfully changed the filters by making sure everything was clean and lubing the large O-rings once again. I used a toothbrush and a popular dish soap that starts with a "D", to ensure the O-ring groove was clean and free of old lube. The accompanying pictures show my completed project, a filter wrench sold by the same company, and the other items I used to change filters, as well as the labels of the two filters I used in the housings, which produce clear, great tasting water. I'm not removing any stars for the above mentioned issues, because I knew about the poor assembly of the relief valve, and how to easily fix it ... and lubing the O-rings is kind of a common sense thing that I should have known to do from years of caring for a swimming pool. If you are looking for filter housings to build a water filter system, then I highly recommend this one. And remember that a little common sense will save some aggravation and prevent a mess.

Quality housing with one flaw
High quality plastic housing with one flaw: the red pressure relief button that leaks. Read below on how to fix it! My faucet uses 3/8" compression fittings so here are the items I got to connect it: 1) 2 x 3/8 in. O.D. Comp x 3/8 in. MIP Lead-Free Brass Compression Adapter Fitting 2) 3/8 in. Compression x 3/8 in. Compression x 20 in. Braided Polymer Dishwasher Connector You have to use a lot of PTFE tape (I did 8 wraps) and then tighten the adapters but don't over tighten because the housing is plastic and might crack. The red pressure relief button is likely going to leak, as other mentioned multiple times. To fix it here is what I did: Unscrew the red button, there is a screw under the housing cap. Once you take it apart use your fingers to gently stretch the spring, don't overdo it. You just need to stretch it a bit so it will apply greater force on the o-ring and create a better seal. Apply some food-grade silicon on the o-ring and the put everything back together. You will notice that because you stretched the spring you will have to push and hold it down while you are screwing the red button. Once everything is tight you are good and there shouldn't be a leak. HOWEVER, I highly recommend that you don't use the red button again, if it's not leaking leave it be! To remove the excess air you can just open the faucet and let it run and the air will be purged. Use food grade silicon on the sump o-ring and only hand-tighten, do not use the wrench it's not necessary. After that you should be good to go and there won't be any water leaks! Good luck!

Faulty Pressure Relief Valve
Based on the reviews here, there seems to be a frequent and persistant leakage problem with the pressure relief valve (the red button) on this model, and the first unit I purchased leaked exactly there. I got an exchange from Amazon but I didn't take any chances with the replacement unit, and I simply removed the red button and spring and replaced them with a small washer and nut on the same original screw to effectively and permanently seal the valve (see photo). As another reviewer mentioned, for under-sink installations, the pressure relief valve is basically useless (just open the tap instead) so this works for me, and now I don't ever have to worry about the moody valve leaking. This is a pretty simple and easy fix for anyone.

Buyer beware, leaked and caused $300 in damages.
The media could not be loaded. Buyers beware. This leaked and caused about $300 in damage to our RV. Amazon is doing nothing to help. I would stay away from this product.

Great housing...high quality.
Great filters. Uses inexpensive filters...not like the Rainbird ones that use costly filters. I have 2 of these on my well as pre-filters in front of the main filter...you lose some pressure sure, but the I'd rather change a $2 50u once a month, a 2$ 5u twice a year and a $50 polyspun annually. These are very high quality and highly recommended.

Great filter housing
Clear case is nice and no leaks. Good quality. Bought a second one. First one works for 5 years with no issues.

Under counter drinking filtration.
Easy to fit the two together as the final stages of my four-stage filtration. Screw-on housing superior to my former twist-lock.
