Economical Alternative To Tattooing
I raise rabbits, and I've been looking for a way to mark them by litter and gender without having to use a tattoo gun. There are several reasons why I don't want to use a tattoo gun, one of them is price. I tried for awhile to use different colored sharpies, making a small dot inside the ear. But this wore off way too quickly! And then I found these! So happy I did! There's enough of a color variety for me to mark them by litter and gender, and the stuff does NOT come off easily, which is really good. I was able to mark one of my does with a small stripe on her back, which is still there weeks later. I can't be more happy that I found these! Keep in mind one thing: You DO have to slice off the end of the marker before using it. It tends to dry and kind of seal, so make sure you cut part of it off before using!

worked okay in hurricane/tropical storm conditions
Bought these to mark our phone numbers on the sides of the horses in case they somehow got out during Hurricane Matthew. It worked best/okay on the horses with shorter hair but the ones with winter coats starting to come in- the paint didn't stick as well to those guys and the large writing was unintelligible after about half a day in the wind and rain. The shorter coat horses were blurred, but you could still read the numbers. BIG thumbs up on the non-toxic part- one of the naughty ponies knocked over a bucket and ate one of the paint sticks before we could stop him. o_0 At least he spit out the wrapper and happy to report he suffered no ill effects. Overall, the paint sticks will probably work well for less rainy conditions, on animals with shorter, non-winter coats, and for writing fewer numbers/symbols. Pro-tip we missed out on- wear gloves! Will be less messy for the humans. :)

Good for hurricanes
Used this to write my phone number on my horse. Weathered the hurricane wonderfully! The hot pink showed up nicely on my black varnish roan mare. Was easy to apply. Stick is an inch wide. Brought back memories of my childhood. 9 sticks arrived in a decrepit box, the other three were outside the decrepit box. All this was in a manilla envelope, just bangin’ around. Just as if I had gone to the feed store and picked it out myself. Hey, it’s farm critter stuff. Doesn’t have to be neat to work wonderfully.

Excellent Product, same great thing for 2 decades, however consider finding a better shipping solution. (see images below)
I have used these livestock marking sticks for many years. First order in a long time because they last so long. The product is still the same great, useful tool that I first worked with 21 years ago, however whoever shipped this did an incredibly poor job of packing this for transit. Again the marking sticks are outstanding, and have been for years, I would however LOOK FOR A BETTER SHIPPING SOLUTION, as while it is hard to damage them, it certainly would have been nice to have a box to keep them in. Light duty, a box of these should last you years and years.

Great color
For some reason, some of their color options are better for staying, visibility and marking. This color is very good, and if you have colored breed, the black markers are excellent as well

Thick and bright
I liked that it was very bright and vivid. It was much thicker than expected. While writing we made a mistake and was able to easily wipe off with a wet rag. Although we were able to wipe off it wasn’t as difficult or easy. You could say in between, we were able to brush the coat and it did not smear

As described but packaging sucked
Took a while to ship but came as described. Beware that Packaging was horrible and box fell apart as soon as opened.

I make all of my oil paintings using these. With GREAT results.
I use these in all of my art .. I love everything about them. The shipping is fast and packaging is good. They glide over my canvas or boards like drawing with lipstick. When I want to actually paint using a brush I just mash a small piece on glass with some linseed oil. I could not afford to paint without these.
