Basic, reasonably comfortable hearing protection
If you are looking for a basic pair of headphones to protect your hearing, these will get the job done. PROS These are fairly comfortable, fairly adjustable headphones that seem, under "household chore" use to do a good job at canceling out unwanted noise. My main use is when mowing and similar, and they do the trick. These have better (advertised) noise reduction than comparable "basic" headphones from the big box stores - and while I don't have the resources to test it myself, it seems to hold up in my experience. CONS These are basic headphones, and while the adjustability is reasonably good, it isn't perfect. It took me a bit to get them adjusted to my liking. The material that is right next to your skin isn't something I'd want to wear all day long - so maybe not the best option for someone wearing these on a job site for 8+ hours. OVERALL If you need hearing protection for around the house or occasional items, this is a good basic option.

My father-in-law tried these on and we had to take them off him so he could hear us!
Upfront disclosure: I received these through the Amazon Vine program for review. In the 1980's and 1990's my Gramps took my cousin and I out multiple times to teach us firearm safety. The ear protection we used was pretty similar to these. Big, comfortable, and cut out a fair bit of the noise. When I opened the box these came in, I smiled instantly. I tried them on and found them more comfortable than my other pair, easily adjusted and cut out a fair bit of the sound. I could still hear my wife speak, but even that was significantly reduced in volume. Honestly, that is important to me as I want to still be able to hear things going on around me when I am working, I just want the sound level reduced. These are perfect for that and so much more comfortable than those little foam ones you squish into your ears. I am really glad I have these now, as they allow me to work with ear protection on for a lot longer than any of the others I have. They also stay on my head way better but without compressing my ears too much (which ends up hurting with the others I have gotten in the past). Great buy and I am super happy with these.

Great for the price
I needed a set of ear muffs for occasional use when machine polishing my cars. I have one polisher in particular that is nosier than the others and the sound gets annoying quickly. I wanted something light in weight, so I ordered these. If I was going to be wearing them for extended time periods, I likely would have chosen the version with the padded headband. While my head is slightly on the large side, these fit well and remained comfortable. The ear cups fit my ears fine and the sound level was greatly reduced. If I needed something for daily use, I probably would have selected a more expensive model with better specs. For occasional use by the typical homeowner these are a fine choice at an extremely reasonable price

STURDY - COMFORTABLE - EXCELLENT NOISE REDUCTION
These noise reduction ear protectors are so superior to the ancient ones I have been using for decades. The old ones were loose fitting and the headband would slip - after a few hours on a riding mower, my ears ached. I like the way these new ear protectors fit my ears very snugly with enough pressure to seal out those loud noises that used to slip around the edges of the ear cups on the old ones. The headband is well cushioned. Very comfortable. My uses: riding mower, generator, power saw, chain saw, shop vac, gun range, etc. TV test: Put the volume up high - family complained - put on these earmuffs and all I could hear was a vague murmur - could not distinguish words - let wife and daughter try them and they approved. I am very pleased with this product - it is exactly as described on the product webpage. I ordered this set of ear protectors for my vehicle to have them handy for visits to the gun range and speedway.

Exactly what I needed in the shop
I do a lot of hobby woodworking and needed something for my ears. These for very snug but are comfortable and work great for protecting my ears from The noise! I definitely recommend.

Very comfortable headset, but not ideal for large heads
These are nice earmuffs that are quite comfortable to wear. They do a good job of blocking out ambient sounds, but you won't be in complete silence: the noise reduction rating is less than an in-ear canal earplug by a significant margin (26dB vs 32dB). They're still quite effective and will keep you safe during noisy activities, but they don't offer maximum protection if that's necessary for your application. My main quibble is that the adjustment mechanism is not particularly accommodating for people with larger heads. If you're used to headphones, you may be surprised to learn the padded headband itself does not adjust at all - it is fixed without any sort of articulating or extending mechanism. The two ear cups can extend downwards on their steel wires, though; while this can help fit a larger head, I felt like I really needed another centimeter or so to be truly comfortable. Annoyingly, the ear cups tend to retract when you take off the earmuffs, so you have to constantly adjust them each time you don the protection again and they may even feel like they're pulling up on your earlobes during wear. While I find these overall pretty comfortable to wear and the hearing protection works as advertised, the difficulty of adjustment prevents them from truly feeling like a premium product. If I were wearing this sort of hearing protection every day at work, like on the tarmac at an airport, I think I'd want to invest in something that gave me a bit more of a customized fit. For hearing protection around the house for occasional power tool use, though, I think these are a perfectly reasonable choice.
