Fine product, but useless for our needs
I've been having all kinds of fun with my two dogs. One has gotten pretty old and doesn't have much notice anymore between 'Ooh, I need to pee' and peeing on my floor. My younger girl is just bratty and confused and has decided that pooping in the hallway is a good practice. So we got this for her, thinking that the first time she tried to poop while wearing it would probably be the last time. I put her in it, excited to finally be finished with the messes and still be able to have her company out and about the house. Well, the tail hole is too big to prevent any accidents that way. She had worn it for probably two hours when I found a mess in the hallway. The tail hole is so big that she was able to poop anyway without leaving ANY trace on the diaper. Awesome. So the diaper is useless for what I bought it for. Though I do sometimes put it on my boy when he manages to wriggle out of a typical belly band. I've also found that if I cut a tiny tail hole in a regular diaper and just use this diaper over it, it seems to work better and I don't have to worry about her trying to scratch or bite the disposable. I don't know if she just hasn't had any accidents this way as a fluke or if it actually helps. Regardless, the diaper fits her and is somewhat useful with some tweaking. It's terribly stiff and bulky though. Not even thickly padded, just really awkward. Washing really hasn't softened it up much at all. A regular diaper under it is nice even if it's just so all that stiff bulky fabric doesn't bother her.

Pretty good but I found better!
I bought 2 of these, size Medium for my Am. Cocker Spaniel when she was in heat. She weighs about 21 lbs with about a 17-inch waist. These may be better at being potty diapers than for what my girl needed, but this was her first heat; So I don't know if next time she will need more absorbency like this product provides. I have since found some great "panties" by Simple Solutions that are thinner and designed to fit much better. The Pooch Pad brand here was bulky and a little baggy, and my dog pulled them off several times. However, I can't imagine the medium still fitting a 35 lb dog or a 25-inch waist. Maybe I'm wrong, and I guess it does depend on the breed/shape of the dog some. The BIG problem with this Pooch brand is that the tail hole is huge, and well, her poor little "girl part" kept getting out of the hole. So, there's some leakage issues with that! When pulled up and straps tightened this takes care of the issue mostly but it's a pain. Two other brands I've found since have a great section of shirred elastic at the belly which (with the usual velcro-like straps) helps provide a much better fit. This would be a terrific upgrade for this product.

Sizing Wrong
This is a very well made item and if it had fit properly, I'm sure it would have worked well. I'm very disappointed in the sizing instructions. I measured my dog exactly as suggested in the ad, but when the item arrived it was much too small. I got the medium size, and it barely fit around her. Also, the tail hole was very small which made it extremely difficult to get on. Needless to say, by the time I got done pushing and pulling it over her tail and cinching it up to try and attach the velcro, she didn't want any part of it. She is a very fit and trim Cardigan Welsh Corgi without an ounce of fat on her, so that was not the issue. Just a word of warning to anyone ordering this product: it runs VERY small. Again, it was extremely well made, and would have worked if sized correctly.

Yay!!! I got a good night's sleep again!
I have a 3 yo 12# min pin papillion mix that has occasional problems when she sleeps. It started briefly last winter then, just as I talked to the vet about it, it went away. Now, these last two weeks, it has returned. Because she has the short coat and temperament of her minpin father, she is alway nesting. At night that often means, under the covers in my bed. Needless to say, the last thing in the world I want, is a dog peeing in my bed! I could not wait to get this product and try it. Received it yesterday, put them on her last night at bedtime, we both got a good night sleep! Granted, HerDivaship was not exactly impressed with having to wear it... but it didn't bother her either. The fascination of one of her minions, (100# german shepherd that she was convinced was laughing at her) probably did not help matters... They fit her skinny little waist perfectly. It was as though it was custom made just for her....except for the colour that is, super bright green would have gone better with her red colouring...;)

Excellent Alternative!
I own a dachshund who started experiencing incontinence after recovering from a back injury, and I bought PoochPants as an alternative to A. ruining my carpets and/or B. losing one of my babies. The diaper fits very well with an elastic waist and velcro flaps. My dog, Schnitzel, was a little dejected when I first put the diaper on her, but she got over it within 10 minutes. PoochPants have a great capacity for absorption, as Schnitzel would completely release her bladder into them and nothing would leak out. I do recommend getting at least 2 diapers, though, if your dog does more than little dribbles here and there. One bladder's worth will tend to make the diaper sag, and that's where the spillovers can occur. PoochPants also keeps their promise in regards to odor control and durability. Even fully loaded, the diaper would absorb the scent of urine, and they surived many washing-machine cycles. I'm grateful Schnitzel no longer needs her diapers, but if there's ever a time when she needs them, she'll definitely be getting PoochPants again.

They STAY ON and are designed for both incontinence and heat periods.
I adore the entire Pooch Pad line; crate pad COVERS, pee pads, but the diapers might just be my favorite. We are currently owned by 11 dogs and 1 kitten. Two have hind end issues that means they are incontinent. Finding diapers that are reusable, designed for incontinence AND stay on is almost impossible. Every so often I look at the price of these and then others where you get three for the same cost; they come in all sorts of pretty colors, designs, patterns and have all sorts of "adjustments", and everyone raves about them so I buy them. Only to be forever disappointed as they fall off within hours, so I order different sizes, same issue. If you don't want to waste your money, prefer function over 'style', and truly need an incontinent diaper, PoochPants are the only way to go. I have used them, first as period panties, over a decade ago, to now incontinence diapers. These claim to be good for 300 washes, my original purchases are still going strong, if not a bit faded, almost 15 years later. The only reason I had purchase new ones, I needed different sizes. Sizing is 100% accurate; I currently use them on a Pug and a 3kg kitten, but historically used them on MinPins. Elastic is strong, as is the velcro, and I think this may be what sets these diapers apart, and keeps them snugly in place. Neither the dogs or the kitten fuss with them, remove them or try to eat them. They actually contain stool, within the diaper; messier for cleaning up the animal, but way nicer than stepping on turdlets around the house. Washing is a breeze, but, you may want to order several to a half dozen, as they CANNOT go in the dryer. I simply either handwash with hydrogen peroxide (disinfects, deodorizes, removes stains) put directly on the soiled inner portions, scrub the sides together, for several minutes then rinse under cold water until water runs clear, no sudsy residue, then hang dry. To machine wash, I recommend pretreating with hydrogen peroxide, turn inside out, lock down the velcro so it doesn't collect lint, and toss in a with any cold wash. ALWAYS HANG TO DRY. It's that simple. After over ten years of use, and never a single issue, no seams failing, no velcro failing, no elastic failing, no sizing changes, no problems whatsoever, I can honestly, and truly attest that these are well worth the investment, and highly recommend you at least purchase a few to try.

Worked perfectly for incontinence and heats
Bought these to help my old Border Collie with her incontinence issues. They fit her perfectly, never leaked, and enabled her to move about the house without ever leaving a drop of urine on the carpet. Flash forward to 3 years later and my BC puppy is in the middle of her first heat with these panties once again proving their weight in gold. No bloody discharge on the carpet, no issues with the diapers feeling uncomfortable - just a relaxed grrl. Had bought both a medium & large since I wasn't sure how'd they fit. Both sizes have worked flawlessly on both dogs. They have been washed well over 100x now and have held up looking almost brand new. Highly recommend.

gute robuste Windel
