Not heavy duty

Very light tire (good/bad)? Don't expect to get a large amount of miles before it wears out. Gum wall also thin, could easily see it getting damaged if you ever rode over some gravel

I really like these tires. I put them on my old C-Itoh that I use at work and im zipping everywhere. Traction is great. I knocked a star down cause they too over a week to get here.

Great classic look with a smooth feel!

Great classic tire! I had heard a lot of good things about Panaracers prior to buying and riding them and they have lived up to their expectations. I have riding a broad range of road tires on many different bikes but they feel these tires provide is sublime. Yes, they are relatively heavy as tires go. However, this is nothing compared to the ride quality and feel you get from the road. They provide that tell tale "singing" of a good tire. The only downfall is you do have to clean the sidewalls rather regularly. This is especially true on older brakes which pads give off a lot of brake dust. All around one of my favorites tires. Also, this review comes after riding these tires for a year with no flats.

Sturdy tire, smooth ride

I bought a '74 Schwinn Continental with some pretty crusty tires and decided to upgrade. I could have bought some cheapie tires at my local bike shop, but I really wanted gum walls and something that would last a while. These tires are really nice looking, and obviously very high quality. It took some muscle and several tries to get them on right, but once fitted they are very snug and solid. As for performance, I noted a huge improvement in speed after installing these tires. My rides feel so much better and smoother than they have in the past. This will be my go-to tire from now on.

Fits 1979 Schwinn Le Tour IV

I liked the tread pattern over the no-tread tires they replaced. I though these would be better in the rain. The tread pattern looks directional but I wasn't sure what the correct direction was so I guessed. Fits my 1979 Schwinn Le Tour IV. One of the tires looked deformed when I received it. The beads were flayed out instead of looking like a normal tire. It went on the rim okay so I'm not sure why it looked like that.

Perfect fit for old bike

There are many bike tire sizes , so choose wisely. These were perfect replacements for my ancient Scwhinn LeTour.

Not bad

Not bad. There are not a whole lot of options when it comes to 27 inch tires. You can definitely do worse. If conti grand prix 4000s are 5 stars, I'd give these a 3-3-1/2. Not bad though. Just not really performance grade

Great for 'vintage' road bikes

I used these to replace the dry rotted tires on my 80's Ross women's adventurer road bike. Did the job, and gave me a more 'commuter' tread which is a bonus. The gum wall isn't even so I would try to use that to see if it's on straight, but it's damn well close. Glad to find a replacement at a reasonable price.

Not very impressed

Although these are rated at 90 PSI, which is great, the quality is just not there. Sidewalls seems to have an issue where they begin to bulge.... mine bulged in one spot and despite remounting 3 times and checking the tube, it's still there.... I gave up on it and replaced it with another brand. Maybe I was just unlucky.

Sides ripped after one season

Tires looked great but after one single of VERY limited used, the tire walls ripped opened, on both tires. I've read on some reviews that this is a recurring problems with only some of the batches. Buy at your own risk.

went on nicely on my older rims

went on nicely on my older rims, this was after i had tried to use some cheaper tires bought locally. The tire is pretty basic and smooth rolling and the gum wall sides look good on an older bike.
